Everything they make is so bad 😂 Then I watch Andor and it’s just nearly flawless. Disney must have been hands off with the Andor project. They thought it was a throw away show.

I'm shocked with the clips you showed at the start. People dismiss the show because it does not show characters that they know. And say that The Good Star Wars should incorporate nostalgia as one of the key points. Like... They are saying it out loud. so people are actually consciously go to movies for filmmaker to show them "member grievous? member vader? member jedi? member lightsabers? I member!". this is like a parallel universe to me. but, if there are a lot of people like that out there, then I now completely understand why starwars is such a shitshow.

It’s mando season 1&2 and then below that is andor and then below that is everything else. And mando season 1&2 was a 6/10 at best. So no andor isn’t good. At all. It’s just not as bad as the other shows.

When it came out Andor was such an obscure character I thought the show was named after a planet 😭😭

Still haven't watched Andor, and likely never will. Disney has just lost me with their Star Wars low quality content. I'm not tuning in for an accidental hit. Until these accidental hits become the norm, I'm out.

Maybe Andor is too mature and gritty for those guys like Theory and so on. Maybe it's not pompous enough, maybe the fact it's about normal people puts them off.

I think I watched the show 3 times by now and it’s by far the best SW show. I think putting the emphasis on „treating the viewer like adults“ actually makes it such a good show. My forever hope is an 18+ show of Vader and the time between Rots and Anh, where we get to see all Jedi hunting and torture etc. that happend between the films, that is all very much shown in legends. Just a show for adults, actually showing the brutality of the empire, like in Andor (or imo partially in S4 of Rebels)

love this videooo i completely agree, especially on the part about having higher stakes. it's so true. regarding the reaction of the fans to the series, i wanted to add a thought. for every couple people that say that andor is boring, there's one that says that andor has such a good quality that it "undermines" the rest of star wars and the amount of quality we perceive in it. I understand where this is coming from but recently i made a big rewatch and i haven't felt like the series impacts the other star wars products that badly. it seemed to me more like the center of a web that connects much of the franchise in a beautiful way. to me, this shows can really sum up many different aspects of star wars WITH its own vision that can coexist perfectly with the rest. some of the aspects are: -the efficiency of the empire and why people rebel against it (tying back to ep V), clearly the centre of the show; -the political aspects and the "grey areas" (that the prequels + clone wars tried to achieve, or maybe. it's better to say they "introduced" in the contextof b&w, good vs evil star wars), another central part of andor; -the useless exhibition of power WITHOUT competency (the furst arc with corpos searching for cassian reminded me kinda of rebels or ep. VI in that sense, even if was clearly framed differently, from the perspective of a tv show aimed at an older audience) -the "how does it work? where do they find the money?" and all those kind of questions that are usually investigated in the comics. if you add to these aspects rogue one (which was made with tony gilroy on board too, so, it is only logical to connect them as a pair) you get also the "spiritual" side of star wars - trusting the force, the prayers, the meditations - the side of it that made it appealing to both children, in its moral, fairy-tale aspects, and adults, in having a blurred sense of fate and human agency, or free will. i mean, it has all the aspects star wars has ever had (even the cool action stuff & space battles, like. the scene with the fondor escaping the tractor beam, which was amazing). Just, not the lightsabers and the skwalker family (until the very end at least), but that was lucas's vision. the idea of writing a modern myth with stories of fathers and sons, fate, liberty and power, good and evil - that was lucas's vision (and. imo, some people don't even understand those aspects in the prequels too). you can't have that back unless lucas starts writing something else and even then, it'd still be different and probably most people would criticize it anyway. new stories being added means you can't read those new stories with old schemes in mind. but it's not bad, it's amazing how vast this galaxy can be. like, i didn't hear anyone argue about mandalorian s1 not being "enough star wars" or "undermining the rest of star wars", even if it had no good vs evil or anything that star wars had. it was a western set in star wars and it was amazing for that. and the clone wars too! the prequels never showed us war like that (it was: one planet invaded BEFORE the war, the rescuing of three prisoners that started the war, and the rescuing of another prisoner) but most of the fans loved it. each of this stories gave us new lens to look at this galaxy and these stories and this is great! andor (+ rogue one) only added a new one to the list. now i can watch luke blowing up the death star and get really emotional thinking about how behind it, there is a world of untold stories of people making little acts of rebellion to which Luke's just the one that breaks the siege.

Andor easily is the best entry to the canonic franchise to date, including the original trilogy. The only reasons the original trilogy is so hyped is because it started the franchise and a massive dose of nostalgia. I’m not saying it is bad, because it is amazing, but it is simply not the best.

StarWars Theory has lost creditability as a SW fan A LONG TIME AGO. I for one LOVED Andor and in a way I do think its what Star Wars SHOULD be... I dropped The Mandalorian after season 2, I might watch the other shows. in terms of the films; I generally enjoyed them some more than others.

Im happy to see how the galactic empire was abusive towards citizens of all the different planets. The original 3 movies dont really delve into the empire's corruption and mistreatment of the galaxy's inhabitants...youre just presented with the main characters and told these guys are the good guys, and those guy's are the bad guys. Andor, as slow burning as it is, really goes into detail of palpatine's unjust reach and rule. (And i just watched this for the first time upon its release on bluray. I dont have disney plus, nor do I like the new age method of watching tv shows and movies on demand. I much prefer going to the store and picking up a pysical hard copy of something, as well as seeing movies on the big screen. I guess I'm an old school boomer.🤷‍♂️😉☺️

There is one weakness i can think of for saitama and that is to get saitama to fight saitama and if there is anyone who could make that happen it would be someone like rick! Ask yourself what if saitama punch himself? With rick portal gun that could be a possibility! So can saitama kill himself with his own with a single punch to the back of his head is the question? Otherwise if he can't then he would no longer be called the one punchman!

Most of the Disney shows feel like it was thought as a movie than cut into 6 pieces & added stuff to make a series. But Andor feels like it is thought as a tv show.

Andor is the one Star Wars show that really resonated with me as a Star Trek fan.

I found it super fucking boring too. I tried watching it, a lot. This is the stuff that makes me fall asleep at 1 pm And no this does not mean I lack the attention span - I understood all of it, I just didn't like it, and I don't like the murderer main character. So what? There's such a thing as different taste, people. Nobody HAS to like it.

I afraid that season 2 will fall under the execs grip and will be forced to insert the whole woke checklist.

The thing everyone was avoided to say is that ANDOR is better than Star Wars (Yes i mean origianal triology too.) Star Wars was huge hit as blockbuster which means "to be liked by everyone". Its okay, i dont judge this and i like Star Wars, at least first 6 movies. But Andor is too much for Star Wars. As an art of filmmaking, Andor simply Superior to other SW movies/shows/animations.

The one thing I’ve heard as argument against andor that I thought made a lot of sense was from Brandon Sanderson, and it’s that because andor is so gritty and takes death and such so seriously, it kinda messes up a lot of other Star Wars media when you look at them, it makes you think about the morality of Luke’s actions in blowing up the death star in a way that isn’t really intended by the originals, but I don’t think most people think of it like this, but if you did, I think it would ruin it for you.

Everything about Andor works except for the fact that it's a boring pointless story that doesn't expand the universe. Andor is a little nobody character who's gonna die. If this didn't have Star Wars in the title we wouldn't talk about Andor.

What's all the Andor HYPE about I honestly don't get it. This show is pure over-hyped garbage. The glazing and seriously saying this is the best Disney has produced is baffling. MANDO S1-2 is PEAK Star Wars as it has that OT sense of adventure and weight. ANDOR HAD NOTHING OF SUBSTANCE. In Andor the TITLE CHARACTER takes a backseat in his own show. Luthen, Montha and Saw carried this series as I couldn't stand seeing Anbore on screen. The best things were the prison sequence and the interactions between the 3 characters I mentioned before, everything else was poorly done. I did not care for Bix, or for his mother figure, Dedra was alright but wasn't fully realised, Syril was annoying AF, any piece of dialogue he had just came across as whiny. They should have done more to turn him into a stormtrooper his current character arc amounted to nothing. He should have defected the local police force far earlier and join the empire seeing it through his eyes, a believer of the imperial cause would have been great to see as why do people join as compared to the Rebellion this is what Andor should have tackled, instead we got Boring backstory, boring heists, inconsequential prison riots. If they were to make a show based in this period...throw Anbore in the fiery pits of Mustafar!!! Instead focus on Churrt Imwe and Baze Malbus, far more interesting characters! I also don't care about Andor in the slightest he's unlikable, remarkably boring, having no depth or substance especially out of the Rogue One cast giving the writers nothing to work with. For example Churrit being force sensitive allows him to be persecuted for his believes and challenged by imperials and Bazes lack of belief this would have been an intriguing dynamic as the pair are totally different and shouldn't even like one and other yet alone fight together. The show would see them traveling the galaxy in a sort of good cop, bad cop manner realising the conflict is getting bigger, going over their views and differing believes with them deciding to join the Rebellion or at least get to the point we see them in RO. I know how Anbore's story ends but as he's a bland character he doesn't need to be built open, he serves his purpose in RO, Baze and Churrt on the other hand have greater history to be explored. I don't like Andor for the same reason why many didn't like the Black Widow film as it did nothing to add on to her character you saw her in the MCU and in this movie she was exactly the same. You can watch RO fine and get who Anbore is, you watch Anbore and there's no development/difference with him. And as the show was advertised as "in this show you'll get to see who he was before RO, the horrible missions he did..." and guess what he's the same person. No difference in ideals or personality. S2 Better dive into the "terrible missions he did for the rebellion" and have some substantial development as Anbore is my least favourite series and being next to BOBF is not an achievement if it's the same as S1 then it's going below BOBF lmao. 4/10 just watch the Prison Escape, then the scene with Luthen and Saw and move on, there's nothing else to gain from this series.

As I've heard elsewhere, it's not that SW should only have shows Andor-like from now on. After all, Disney is out there to make money out of the franchise. Even we, who saw Andor as the best thing in SW since The Empire Strikes Back (and it is, hands down), every now and then know how to appreciate something lighter, even goofier, childish-like, such as Obi Wan and Mandalorian. But if what you want is well-written dialogues, amazing storytelling, solid characters - well, then there's nowhere to go except Andor. And Rogue One. I admit that it might be hard to lure new fans with these two... they are not easy to assimilate, if you hadn't had a previous experience with the SWU. But those of us who grew up with SW as an essential part of our childhood are ready for deeper, more complex stories; for going further in the meanders of the rebellion, of the bureaucracy of the Empire; for more than stories revolving the tiresome lore of the Skywalker clan - as if there was no other stories in the whole wide universe to tell. Rogue One and Andor are SW written by and for adults. I don't believe Disney will allow much more projects like this: we probably will have one more season of Andor and that's it - they'll be back to serving the same old childish junk they got the fans used to. But we will always know that one day there was Andor. And SW can be so much more.

Andor was fantastic. I hope they make more films and shows that are on part with this quality.

If your argument against something is “It’s great, but it’s not (brand name inserted here)”, you’ve failed the argument. If it’s great, then it’s great, there is nothing you can argue that somehow removes inherent quality.
