Hey @abhishekparasher27 - thanks I really appreciate it. Yes I’m looking forward to collaborating with you 🙂🙏
I am getting this error in the Power Platform Export Solution step, "The reason given was: The given solution unique name <SolutionName> is not valid". Do you have any idea about this...
Hi @kiranbchitari the <SolutionName> is the variable we created, think you might have missed that part in the video. Please make sure you create one for your pipeline with the name of your solution
I keep getting "Power Apps is unable to push your changes to the connected repository" anybody else getting this?
Hi, Thanks for this video. It's very helpful for first implementation. Can you please share where i can find the script code of Command Line Script step?
Does this transfer data within tables or just the schema?
Hi @ganyrehs - this is only for solutions for that you can use the data transporter plugin or the data migration using fetchxml plugin
really want to like this, but i found the music distracting & much too high in the mix. a little music can work in such a video, but i'm here for the power platform content and found i wasn’t really processing it due to the jingles.
@antonjw, thanks for the feedback I really appreciate it 🙂🙏. I have been working on improvements on the sound mixing and other enhancements to deliver quality and impactful content
Solved my connection problem! Thanks!
Thanks you for this walkthrough
Thanks 🙏 @DevBase-q9s
Great video Tiyani
Thanks @owenwetherow glad you like it
Hello! great video. It helped me a lot! If I have environment variables in my solution, is it possible that these can be configured from DevOps? or after executing the release should I manually update the environment variables of my solution?
Hi Alexis, when you're deploying through Azure Pipelines, you don't have to hassle with tweaking environment variables directly on the target Power Platform environment afterward. You can streamline everything using a deployment settings file. This file makes automated deployment a breeze and prevents those pesky connection issues that might otherwise crop up and force you to manually activate flows post-deployment. That's definitely not what you want when you're trying to keep things smooth with DevOps.
Communication Site or Team Site as templates? Pro/Cons?
Hey @thomaskogler, I'm not a SharePoint expert, but here's the gist: Communication sites have fewer customization options compared to Team sites. Each has its role-communication sites are great for broadcasting info to a wide audience, while team sites are better for teams within a company collaborating on projects.
How would you handle custom C# and JavaScript code? For example Plugins and form scripts?
Hey @JavidBahramzy, if you use C# plugins, plugin steps, JavaScript, or even custom web resources, all of these components will be deployed to the target Power Platform environment as part of the process.
@@Tiyani365 yes but regarding the build and release pipeline, how would you handle these custom code components like plugins and JavaScript? I mean the assembly containing plugins and all its dependencies must be built, packaged and added to the solution. Does the DevOps build tools for power platform have tasks to support that. The examples I have seen about power platform build tools only show exporting and importing solutions containing standard components. Are custom components like Plugins, Custom workflow activities and JavaScript also supported? Are there any examples and best practices?
Hi @JavidBahramzy, This process is a bit different from Azure DevOps. It's designed to streamline deployments between environments, but the configuration options are still ramping up (Microsoft's definitely working on expanding them though!). If you need more control and customization, I'd recommend checking out Azure DevOps. It lets you run scripts to build your code and even use deployment settings files for those specific tweaks.
Hey Tiyani, thank you for Informative video
Hey Sudeep, thanks 🙏
Great video, learned some good tips
Great to hear you’re getting value
Cool stuff. Can you do the same with SAP? Thanks
Yes, I'm sure you can, I haven't had a chance to do it myself but you can use various data providers like OData or go directly to the database or use custom connectors.
@@Tiyani365 Don't you have to set up data gateway to connect to SAP? If it is so, how?
Hi @josephlim2064, if your SAP system resides on-premises and not exposed to the cloud yes you'll need a gateway, the gateway will act as a bridge to allow a secure communication access between power platform and sap.
How about deployment settings - environment variables and connections? Where do we specify these?
you can definitely create the JSON deployment settings file using pac command and link it to one of the steps in your pipeline, for each environment. on the step there's a checkbox when checked it allows you specify the deployment settings file. I have a detailed video coming soon regarding this so stay tuned.
Is it possible to select deploy unmanaged solution, instead of the managed one?
100% you can deploy unmanaged solutions but keep in mind that best practice for production deployments is managed as this makes it easy to roll-back if something goes wrong
Great stuff! From the video, it seems the PP Pipelines does not support multi-geo environment/region. What do you suggest for such scenario? Thanks
you are correct power platform pipelines don't currently support multi-geo regions. I would suggest to use azure DevOps/GitHub action as you have much control of each stage. I will check with the team and give more feedback regarding this.
Hi is this possible to do with Gitlab? The entire pipeline for power platform
certainly you can use GitLab, though it is more involved than when using azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.
Hello Tiyani, a humble request to you can you add some more snippets for typescript for form scripting. It will be very much helpful to me if I can get that material from you. Thank you in advance.
Thanks for the feedback, the code project is in my GitHub repo for this video I will surely add more snippets for this kind. 👍
@@Tiyani365Thank you that will be great😊
Hi @Tiyani I am facing issue while debugging early bound plugin with new plugin profiler. Any suggestions on this please
Hey @ShivaKumat-my3uo, could you please share the error message or give us a detailed explanation of the issue you're facing? This will help us understand what's going on and find the best solution for you. Thanks a bunch!
Really Nice Video! Good work Tiyani. One query please .. How to change Owners of Apps /Flows in target environment and how to provide user to change the Environment variable and other parameters when running in target environment.
when deploying using azure pipeline theres no need to manually interact with the deployment process, you can use a deployment settings file to make your automated deployment easy and for flows avoid using connections that will cause issues and need you to manually turn on the flows after deployment which is not desirable when using devops. I suggest you use connection references for your flows and specify their guids in the deployment file, the same goes for environment variables values per environment. Hope this helps.
Great tutorial. However, I am getting red squiggles under this._textElementKeyDown and context.parameters.IdNumberProperty everywhere inside index.ts. The code in this video and in your github repo seems to be a bit different as well. Can you please check it?
Hi @syedburhanalishah, Let's troubleshoot the code! Double-check if you have Node.js installed (it runs JavaScript outside the browser, type node -v in your terminal to verify). Since the code is from GitHub, it likely relies on additional modules listed in a file called package.json. To install them and ensure a smooth build, navigate to your project directory and run npm install in the terminal. If you encounter any errors after this, feel free to share the message and I'll be happy to assist further!
simple to follow thank Tiyani
You're welcome 😊

Good one
Glad you like it
Thank you. Can we export the BI Report as pdf?
Yes you can if you can access it via power bi services it’s easier but remember most use cases for embedding it in dynamics 365 is viewing purposes so there’s not much requirement to download it as pdf.
great content Tiyani, keep up the good work
Thank you! Will do!

Hi Tiyani love the video could you tell me where i can find the CSS file for refrence
Hi Loki, you can create your own css file and style it as per your requirements, in the manifest file that's where you will find or reference the css file it should look like this: <css path="css/RSAIdNumberValidator.css" order="1" /> you can check out the github project i uploaded for the video: github.com/TiyaniMilton/PCF_Control_Demo Let me know how it goes
@@Tiyani365 Hi I made a simple PCF using a slider that changes the colour of the value is set like whole numbers when they reach a certain threshold the value changes colour now I am planning on making a button that would create a record
