I'm so glad to have found this (even in fuzzy home VHS format)- thank you for the upload! My favourite thing about it was Merlin- especially Robert Eddison's beautiful voice, and I was sad that they killed him off early in the series. But I also loved how they really attempted something historically plausible-looking. They really don't make TV like this any more.

Morgana hated her brother and got what she wanted. So why was she in tears when the Lady of the Lake took him away?

The human brain is weird. I must have been six when this came on TV, and I can only vaguely recall enjoying a TV series about King Arthur, though I had a feeling it was called 'something Excalibur'. Yesterday, aged 50, the theme tune decided to pop in my mind out of nowhere while out shopping. One internet research session later, here I am!

Thank you so much for posting this! When I was in 6th grade, PBS showed this series on loop for a few weeks. I was so enthralled by the Lancelot duel scene that I watched it every time.

Interesting, thanks for uploading. Worth noting that this is the substantially shortened version aired in the U.S. According to The New Arthurian Encyclopedia, it was 12 episodes in the UK but across the pond it was "shortened to eight episodes to focus more strongly upon the role of Lancelot."

How I remember this series. It was heavily trailered on BBC1 back whenever that was. In the event I never got to watch it because my family always wanted to watch other programmes - this was before VHS recorders and long, long before the internet and Netflix. BTW I believe the child Morgan Le Fay was played by Patsy Kensit.

Vancouver Guy no I’m pretty sure I mean the network who has been caught staging testing facilities, doctoring pictures that are public record so they can easily be debunked, making false claims about packed hospitals in the area which I serve in the medical industry, the network that refuses to talk about how hunter Biden was just caught using gifted money for sex workers, the ones who have been caught time after time in lies like the Charlottesville Trump speech, or the coverage of the boarder when the migrant caravan was becoming violent, the “mostly peaceful” video while a building was burning in the background, the story behind the Christian school kid, Cuomo faking covid. The list goes on and on. Try to give me one fake story from the right side of politics.
