Freedom Planet is a Sonic inspired game done right.

I'm honestly so glad that this April, XSEED Games actually went out of the way to sponsor a bunch of high-profile VTubers to play this game for the console release. Said VTubers were Cy Yu (Zao), Mimcubus (Kalaw), PorcelainMaid/Jowol, Olivia Monroe, BasilWoof, marimari_en, and Rosedoodle. Sadly, they all have only played _Freedom Planet 2_ once, and never followed up on it. (It's okay for Cy Yu and Mimcubus, since they are voice actors for the game.) And ironically, Deven Mack/Rockoon, who wasn't sponsored by XSEED, has cleared _Freedom Planet 1_ as Carol.

I feel like merga final boss only has real emotional impact if you play as lilac, its kinda ruined if you figth her as carol and mostly neera, it still has a bit of impact with milla, but playing it as lilac its a whole different level 18:25 I beated her first try 29:45 Why can she speak spanish? lmao

Love the 4 different categories you've made! It's amazing how indies both keep the old ways alive, while simultaneously bringing SO much new stuff to the table! People who say "all Indie games are the same" don't have a clue what they're talking about! I find it funny how if Dwarf fortress was featured, it would probably fall under "simplistic games" while also being ludicrously complex XD Can't wait for your next video!!

I think the game is fine. For me though, there was something missing from it that could've made it a good game. It looks beautiful and imo the character designs are really solid. The story might be the issue. For a game like this, I feel the story is what needed to be the main focus needs to be along with possible side stories to enhance it just a bit more. Overall I'll give it a 5 or 6 out of 10. If the story was better, would probably be a 8 out of 10 imo

The way Marooner’s Bay is designed is definitely intentional, it makes you have to change your approach and decision making due to its widespread and difficult to traverse terrain. Narrow pathways means it’s easy to get swarmed if you rush in blind. Going solo is incredibly risky and you need to be able to coordinate with your teammates to make sure you’re not all running off on your own and getting “stuck” splatting salmonids at the shoreline, having all of your golden eggs as far away from the basket as possible. HOWEVER…with the difficulty and intensity so much higher in 3 it really does not feel like a suitable map any more without design changes. You can’t just ignore stingers and fly fishes, but dealing with them at all is suicidal and time wasting mostly because of the lesser salmonids rather than the bosses themselves.

I have a splatfest that I would love for it to happen. What’s your preferred movie genre? Drama vs Action vs Comedy I can see that Shiver would be on team Drama. Frye would choose comedy and Big Man one the other hand would be on team act. Honestly, it was a hard choice to select which idol would choose which, except for Shiver.

This game have a huge potential wasted. 1the plot its very cool. About octopus evolution . And how they turns kids fighting like the movie mad max. But they just do a little bit of history. 2 the battle about silly things like mustard vs mayonese or pineapple pizza vs peperoni pizza it was very clever. Everything with 2 teams it was really cool. But they do it only online. 3 stadiums weapons. Characters are very aswome. But only multiplayer. If this game just make a real heavy history mode with character conflict with silly things like a hot team vs cold team just as an expample. With mini game bosses better costumization. An a complete gallery mode . Challenge mode. Vs mode. Etc will be a blast . Very sad.

Having just completed my 2nd playthrough of the game, I enjoyed this video a lot. Its a shame that this game isn't getting the reach it really deserves, but I am glad it does seem to have a decent fanbase (I know I'm guilty of sleeping on it until now). I'm hoping that more big streamers play the game to put more eyes on it. I'm also excited to see what else the devs create in the future (I believe they said they will take a break before working on FP3, which is understandable)

Played it, Loved it, but MANN, announcing a game too early and having next to no advertisement when the game is finally to be released, can really kill a game's potential success. Or did they HAD to announce the game so early?

its an interesting game with colorful characters I just wish that the characters were more explored and they were all unique in a way I also wish that the astroid just did not exist like you cant just build up all these characters and then just kill them off at the end. the story is also just kinda........eh..........

Having reache Eggsecutive VP 999 on all stages except Marooner's Bay, I now only play those rotations extensively. The challenge is actually enjoyable.

I kinda wish the heroines weren't so overdramatic. Often feels like the villains being exaggerated are a lot more excusable and even fun compared to the main cast of playable characters.

Marooners bay = pay cut

As a non-binary musician, this game pretty much hit me double whammy. I can't stop thinking of what Fang's future as a musician would've been. And as a immigrant myself, the Rosa campfire scene also hit way too close to home (like the meteor). While not technically unsafe, me visiting relatives in my home country would be a pretty big disaster. Minor thing, the voice actor for Fang, Lachlan Watson, also sang some of the songs.

I was directed to this video by another fan because, as someone that's cis, I wanted to see what the experience of someone trans was. It makes me very happy to see that Goodbye Volcano high has good representation of the struggles of queer people, mostly because it helps me understand those struggles better. GVH is absolutely a top ten game for me and I've already played it twice as well (first time focusing on Naser, Trish, Naomi, and Reed, and the second on Rosa and Sage). While I can't connect with the main cast on some regards, I definitely relate to the struggles of most of them (dreams and aspirations dashed by global events, overwhelming expectations from parents, existential dread, etc.) As far as the complaints about the story being linear, maybe it's because I come from platform and adventure games but I didn't see it as an issue, as it allowed the story that was told to be the best it could, instead of a couple of well-written paths and then the rest getting worse as the writers lose steam or care (as I'm to understand happens with VNs with a lot of branching story paths.) Thank you for your video, and I hope to see you grow in this endeavor!

Soooo in other words… Splatoon 2 actually had good updates whereas with three it’s just a bunch of trivial things like Music? Splatoon 3 keeps adding in shit like catalogs (literally battle passes) which require you to grind them. It’s bull shit. I have a job, I can’t just stay home and play Splatoon all day. Honestly Splatoon 2 and Splatoon 1 were the best games of the franchise. (I personally prefer 2 but whatever.)

also splatoon 3 got 3 new songs for the lobby so that must count right? one of them bangs so hard tho its called pop 'n' shlock, and they added a jukebox so you can choose whatever song you want

I'm so glad you put out this video! There is a huge hate-fuck around this game, when it honestly isn't bad in the slightest. The lip syncing could be better, sure, and it was a little corny, but there is so much to like. Emotion, character development, solid rhythm mechanics, super talented VAs, and really good writing. It reminded me a lot of Life Is Strange. WORM DRAMA FOREVER

I know this videos kinda old at this point but I came back to it and rewatching it is making me realize that in a lot of ways splatoon 3 has more content than splatoon 2 and in my opinion it comes down to how the contents added, having one new weapon, kit, or stage every week feels a lot more satisfying compared to a batch of content every three months. I personally really prefer having 3 month seasons since it gives each era of the game a distinct feel with what's added, but dropping batches of content at the start of the season and barely anything throughout definitely makes each season feel lackluster in my eyes. I'm not a game developer and while I listen to, read, and learn a lot about the development process, each studio does it differently and so I'm not sure how big of a change it'd be for the development team behind splatoon 3 in terms of workload or deadlines, but I have thought of a compromise that could possibly work. My idea was a blend of the two update models, the 3 month seasons are still in place with a batch of content coming at the seasons launch, though not as large as splatoon 3's batches, then every week (or every other week, or maybe even month) they have even smaller batches of content. There'd still be a large addition to the game each season but it could help make the rest of the content more digestible and give a similar feeling to splatoon 2's updates where there was always something being added right around the corner. Again I'm not sure how well it'd work, I don't know if it would be possible for the dev team, but it was something I found interesting because in many ways splatoon 3 has much more content than its predecessor but that's rarely acknowledged.

I went into goodbye volcano high completely blind. I knew nothing about it, not even the premise on it. and especially I knew nothing about all the down talks and all the insults the game had endured. I guess that is why I actually liked and even loved the game, I went in completely unbaised with my opinions and just went along. The more I experienced the game(Watching a playthrough) the more I enjoyed the character developments, plot, characters unlike any other game. And part way through completing a playthrough of the game, I decided to check what everyone is thinking about the game, I mean I loved it, So I assumed everyone would have somewhat of the same experience. But to my absolute dismay it was quite the opposite, and thats why I am here, just glad that I was not the only one who actually genuinely enjoyed the game. I understand why people hate it such as the character designs but I don’t think the game deserves to be as hated like it is now. I guess I am just the select groups of people who somehow actually finds true beauty in the game.
