You are right! But to get TD Infinite AEROPLAN you need to have good credit score ))
I have an upcoming spend of about $5500-$6000 on travel expenses to make in the next month. I have the Scotia Passport, Amex Cobalt and TD Visa infinite already. Which card would you recommend I apply for next to make this spend and earn a good SUB??
I really dont understand how people accumulate THAT many points, and year after year. Sure there's welcome bonuses but surely you cannot get the massive welcome bonuses every single year. What am i missing? Do you get most your points from kickbacks from your sign up links?
Some cards give larger referral bonuses. For example, my Amex Biz Gold can earn me 20k amex points for referring people to the Cobalt
it depends on your spending habits, if you spend a lot on grocery and eating out/ordering in you can rake up over 100k points in a year with the cobalt, HOWEVER most folks dont spend that amount in general so its wise to understand the spending patterns first and then sign up for these/ one of these
@@shashankshekhar2611 agreed you could theoretically accumulate 100K on the cobalt per year with significant grocery/ dining spend, but that's still nowhere near the amount of points Graeme claims to be spending per year. If you add up all the points in this video, plus the points from his RTW trip in his last video that he referred to, he redeemed: 179,000 Avios, 67,000 MR, and 172,500 AP points. That's a mind boggling number of points. And he's doing this every year??? Like I said, there's something I'm missing.
My guess is that he churns credit cards. Once he gets the bonuses - cancel the card and after some period of time, reapply for the card so that he'll re-qualify for the bonuses.
@@jf-iw7jo yeah, you are right, I did not do the math , that is too much, maybe he has a bunch of new cards every year.
goodd day!epic traveler~be well!The!
I don't want cashback. I don't want rewards. It's a credit card. It has a time and place to be used. It doesn't need to have a sales pitch and gimmicks.
Great video Graeme, with some fantastic tips! One element of flex we've always included: we're willing to do flights of two hours or less on discount airlines (e.g. Air Asia). So we've been able to add short legs to Bali, Ko Samui, etc. Somehow it makes us appreciate even more the rest of the trip in J-class 😎
What are the top 3 fixed point programs? And why?
Great video - I'm having a little bit of trouble booking Oman Air Apex Suites with Aeroplan, it seems the flights from Zurich & Frankfurt to MCT are phantom space - do you have any info on that?
Thanks for all the info! Super useful vid 👍
Thanks Aly! Love your videos - longtime follower of yours (on my personal youtube).
Awesome! Hey if you were new to the credit card game, just got the Cobalt, and regulary spend about 3k per month which card would you apply for next?
CIBC or TD visa infinite. Once you complete their welcome bonus. Apply for the VIP one
Amazing trip! 😍😍
scotia gold is king
What do you think about the TD First Class Travel ?
Would love best strategies for a family of 4 who flys a couple times a year. So not looking for luxury experiences, just wanna get the most for my money but YWG is my closest airport so not optimal for flight deals.
800 is a perfect score?
900
How do you figure out what stores give bonus points. They are so secret about it
Yo your my best friends cousin the canadian jetsetter😄
The insurance is really really good on this card. Unfortunately, my father passed away days before our vacation and AMEX insurance program was nothing but incredibly helpful throughout the entire process. We got the entire $12,000 back with not too much questioning or hassle. The way they dealt with the whole process, made me loyal to American Express
Thank you
Can you also compare or make a video for business Amex platinum card?
Thanks for creating this video. At some point you were talking about how some flights were good for the amount of points they were asking. How do you know when the points they are asking is a good deal though?
Sad the weather lounge does turn into a gong show at times. It’s amazing. But they let flights overlap too much. And was like a family style bar when I was there I could barely get a seat which is annoying.
The little buggies are amazing. A step ahead. Because you have to be first class or pay for the nice golf cart to truck me around in other places. I would have DIED if I wasn’t first class in DXB based on where I needed to be. And still had to take a train.
Nice it’s only Vancouver ? I fly out of Montreal
I'm curious ... what if you have to cancel? Will they give you back your points? I may have to transfer points from my Chase points to Aeroplan....but I'm worried that if I cancel... I will lose my 70,000 pts....
Like gas prices. On long weekends the gas prices always go up. Once again GREED shows it's ugly face.
The best part is flexing it on fast food workers when you hand them the metal card
Why Mozart? its not Salzburg or Vienna
I currently have Amex Cobalt. Idk if I got the 30K bonus points already as this is my 11th month of having the cobalt. Amex is inviting to upgrade to Gold. Should I go for it?
if you eat out a lot keep the cobalt the 5x points on dining and grocery is unbeatable , i have the cobalt but recently got the gold alongside it since im gonna be traveling a lot more going forward, also if you don’t upgrade your cobalt , and you apply separately for the gold card on the website you get the full welcome offer of 60k points , thats what i did, since the upgrade offer was only 30k points for me
The American Express is not as great in Travel As of Oct 2024 they have changed the point from 2% to 1% on Travel it's now 2% on Gas and Transit and 1% on Air Water and Rail Just got notice!
Does no work
very poor catering was this late night flight because they served everything on one tray and its really bad
Porter is a Great Airline when they Expanded into Western Canada Air Canada I have Flown on quit old Jets The flight from Edmonton to Ottawa when they Started last Fall to the Winter or vise versa was very good. I did the Reserve up front and amazed of a deal. The meals were very good. I disliked a changeover in Toronto to Ottawa one time before Porter Started I had to put up with a old Air bus 321 on Air Canada. When I looked at air Canada no Non stop flights to Ottawa with Changeover in Toronto then when Porter Expanded to Western Canada I said why not go for it and try Porter out and happy I did
Ive been waiting for my conditional approval since april 10th 😢😢
fuck porter! mfs pulled up 2 hours esrly to the flight and i missed my flight.
pull up 3 hours early and its 3 hours late making me wait 6 hours
if yo time aint worth shit take porter
What about bmos visa infinite it seems pretty to the cobalt card if not better
But again you get rooked with West Jet with all the extra prices that you have to pay so do you really save much money
False
So gross evil westjet
This is so bad
I found those exclude things such as taxes and fees.
Prices went back up!!! Please post again when it’s back down
I always wonder the same thing. I've used agora before a lot and it's always worked well but it wasn't that low!
Ya
Narita is farrrrrr from Tokyo
❤Westjet airline favourite airline in Canada.
Bad card, sigh. Not even worth the 50 point credit score hit for applying 😂 But for those who need a no FX fee card, meh sure but still a bad card
I thought the 24 hours rule on applied to USA; thank you that helps a lot.
Bar drinks are a no go for me cause I don’t play card slots. I just go to happy hours and rewards on my Vegas are the best ways.
Just home from Canada Air Business flights to/ from Vancouver to Sydney. Great airline although, 2.5 hr delay on return flight but Maple lounge had showers - lifesaving benefit !
Hey The Canadian Jetsetter, I just watched your video and I must say that it was really informative and well-made. I was wondering if I could help you edit your videos and repurpose your long videos into highly engaging shorts? I can also make high CTR thumbnails for your channel
