The Meeting Pool" begins with a teenager named Rusty finding a hidden pool in the forest, which he shares with his friends, Somi and Anil.
They enjoy many adventures there and promise to reunite at the pool on April 5, 1964, ten years later. When the date arrives, Rusty returns but finds none of his friends have come back.
Reflecting on their lives, he considers how Somi might be in the military and Anil has become wealthy and arrogant.
As he ponders these changes, he hears children playing nearby, bringing back memories of his own happy childhood at the pool.
