I purchased an xplor 304 2018 model on2021 used it for 6 nights for family reasons not used until this year water ingress around front window and rear panels cracking with water ingress lost greatly on trade in when damage discovered

You know if you built this for the Australia market in off road speck. You would have a market.

How do these newer caravans stand up with previous damp issues? Also great video and I can't believe some of the issues you are highlighting are terrible for a new caravan quite poor workmanship for the price they are.Also would be nice to look at the roof

5 yrs ago i had a brand new Explore caravan it was awfull. Water ingress around front window and after 3 yrs cracking rear panels Eldiss didnt want to know consequently i got rid ....

Unfortunately elddis still use ABS front/rear panels that are only warrantied for 1yr. ABS plastic cannot be repaired according to elddis and cost £4500 to replace if cracked (ABS has a history of cracking - google it). Avoid like the plague, as elddis simply does not care once they have your money. Buy better elsewhere.

Why have Swift taken a step backwards in removing the 3mm Auxiliary sound socket although there is an auxiliary channel on the Control panel? Can’t use it for IPad or TV.

From a size point of view, this would be an excellent caravan for towing here in Japan. We have lots of narrow lanes and in rural areas, a wide 7m wide 'A road' (equivalent of) can suddenly turn into a 4m wide road, so having something that is narrower means far less stress. That said, the most popular caravans here are Hobby and Adria with quite a few American RV trailers being towed as well, which I don't understand as they are humongous. Japan has no regulations on towbar/hitch receiver or 50mm or 2" ball. The M.O.T. of the caravans do check the brakes and lights and the size of the red triangle and front reflector, but not the coupler. They do however check to see if you have a waste water tank as part of the M.O.T. and that you have chains on the side windows so they cannot be opened more than 15cm whilst in transit, even though the law prohibits anyone from travelling in a trailer anyway. Anyway, I digress. Thank you for this introduction to the Swift Compact (Dealer special version). For me here in Japan, the lack of a front sunroof is not necessarily a bad thing as it gets very, very hot here in summer and it allows (maybe..) for the fixing of a domestic style seperate type air conditioner which are far more efficient for dealing with the Japanese summers. The outside part typically is put in the front gas locker. We don't use propane tanks (very difficult to get) and convert to the small gas canisters.

Yes it’s pick of the range for a couple. We want one :-) It can double as a remote office as well. Just need to check it can be towed by a Fiat 500L and convert to just electricity.

A Swift BaseCamp 3 would suit us perfectly apart from the gas. An all electric version with a Lithium Ion battery and more solar panels, to supply electric heating, hob and microwave would be even better if we could tow it with our Fiat 500L. It could also serve as an office :-)

A thorough review of this caravan. I like the window in the wet room but it would have been better on the back wall so the shower curtain covers the shelf and window when using the shower. Currently the window and blind will get wet if using the shower.

I don't like the graphics, its too art deco when the van is modern. You can see where the rooflight has not been cut in above the bed, stood out so much to me when i looked. I'd imagine the same in the washroom too above the wc. When you look at the same layout in say a 2017 verona. this just looks sparse. it's not cheap either. only in design. The kitchen is tiny, no workspace when you are using the hob, why does that need to be soooo big !

Can’t think of anything worse than a tv in my caravan! Why would I want to be sat inside my caravan on holiday to watch a tv when the whole point of my holiday is to decompress and enjoy the local area I have travelled to!

Why don't they integrate the toilet into the shower and double its size. A sit down shower is great in its own right.

Nice van but where is toilet hand pulsar in komod? How use in komod the Muslim people? Where is tv hanker & tv? Where is seat slight or wifi deshantana?

Too much in-out, in-out, in-out with the camera -- makes me feel seasick.

For safety it would make the sockets too close to the sink in case of electric shock.

We have a 2020 Cadiz, with a tiny Heiki in washroom, much smaller this one, and it does have a blind.

The one for me would be the original size Basecamp 2. That’s the one that started it all off and would be perfect.

Great idea and service to show all models at once! Why are the slats sticking out from under the bed in day mode in the 3? doesnt lokk comfortable at all! looks like a half ass job! too bad you cant use the front as storage anymore. They should have designed it so you can fold the bed up like in the others. Thats the big deal about the Basecamp!

Not so easy to get an understanding of its size due to the fish eye camera, distorts and mis-shapes the image unfortunately

Looks fantastic, ideal for a couple or single person that doesn’t want to buy a diesel SUV to tug a 2000kg caravan. I am gutted it doesn’t have AC as an option though. Swift need to remedy this.
