First, glad you are back in Canada! You are awesome! Secondly, great Video! Regarding Mitch, I do not think we can dictate whether we trade him or not. This ultimately lies in the decision of Mitch, his Agent, and the Leafs. Mitch's attitude towards the media has changed for valid reasons... The Toronto Media and haters tend to drive our star players out of this market. If I was in his shoes, similarily to Matthews, I would be acting the same. I wouldn't care about what the media says or what the noise says. I am here to do a job and be there for my team. I wouldn't trade him. This is NOT a trade we will win or get value for. The idea of the CAP space argument is moot... As we would be damned one wa or another. Also, stats show Marner is a playoff leader of the core in 3 out the main categories... Nylander is actually the lowest in stats. Yes Goals win a game, but goals do not happen without play makers. We need to adjust the thinking of our play makers... more net rushes and more North south Play. Which is why Craig Berube is the right call. Stats also show that we lose more games without marner than we win. We actually win more games with out Nylander or Matthews. Hmm.... Ultimately the leafs have a major contract coming off the books after next year in JT and the question is... is he a viable part of the team in his upper years? Also, is Morgan Reilly really the best option of defense for us? He has been a great offensive player, but defensively there has been some issues. Personally, I would trade JT and Morgan reilley (retain some of JT if necessary) and free up more cap. We do not want to lose Marner for the 1 - 1.5 million additional he would cost us. Not worth losing a 100 per point season

There's Leaf gossip all season long, griping like old shoemakers about changes the team needs to make or we're doomed. It's just that, during the season, we're peppered with hockey games to balance everything out. Auston gets hot, Mitchie gets hot, Willie gets hot,, etc. etc. Summer becomes a whole new animal because we didn't win the Cup again. Sidney Crosby's one of the greatest living players, on fantastic Penguin teams over 19 years. Dude's got three Cups. Toronto is just littered with people with pro jobs in sports journalism. They all need headlines... they go for it... people freak out. Year in/year out. It's funny but irritating as hell.

Speaking as an Oilers fan I can tell you this: better defensemen makes everything better but especially your goaltending. Good defensemen make outlet passes. Good defensemen step up in plays and anchor a powerplay with a bomb from the point. Good defensemen clear your crease, breakup 2 on 1's keep shots to outside and punish opposing forwards so theyre slower to get back on D. Mitch Marner waive your clause, go to Buffalo and Toronto gets Rasmus Dahlin and Alex Tuch. Buffalo isnt that dumb but a guy could dream. Or Mitch Marner for Jacob Markstrom and Rasmus Andersson. Calgary is great and Mitch would look good in red.

You are right Victoria. Marner's playoff performance has been terrible. I, too, noticed the change in his attitude towards the Toronto media. He seems fed up with the attention. He must be moved now to get the most benefit from the trade. Columbus has been rumored for a while. If it is that team, Kent Johnson, David Jiricek, and Elvis Merzlikins would do nicely!

I agree that we need a goalie. Goaltending is a crap shoot... I wouldn't trade an asset like Marner for a goalie, even an established one. Look at Hallebuyck in Winnipeg in the playoffs this season. Try to acquire a top goalie in another way.

I would like to see Marner traded for 2025 draft picks since they have none for the first 4 rounds. Chicago have many. So do Utah but I don’t think Marner would go there. If they trade Marner they can’t trade him until July 1st because he is due a big bonus. I would like to see Jarnkrok, Kampf and Lilgren traded for 2023 draft picks. There are a lot of good UFA’s this year that Toronto could sign at lesser costs and are more talented.

The elite players will get you a playoff spot but not a cup. Will say it again, cup winners are gritty players that can handle the rough play. Check out the cup winners over the past decade and how many gritty players on them. Able to handle themselves when banged around in a playoff game. When a penalty is usually drawn in a reg season game, not called in playoff season( " Refs are letting them play") heard so often in almost all playoff games that get nasty. Elite players like Marner, Nylander seem invisible at times. Domi and Betuzzi should keep. Tavares, who wants that cost? You make a good point, wait and hopefully sign a much lower contract and keep him. He is a veteran guy who teaches the newbies. I saw Nylander literally ignore Keefe when he spoke to him on the bench. Will be interesting to see him butt heads with Berube.

I think Berube can get the most out of players. I don't think it necessary to keep divvying out big contracts to guys like Bert and possibly Domi when more affordable and even younger players can possibly fit in. As much as this being a time the Leafs need to go for it, they need to stock up and develop, as well. A more balanced approach need be taken and the team needs to ease up on spending futures every season.

Berube is behind the bench, not on the ice. If he pisses players off that won't help. Keep Domi with Matthews. Keep Marner, he's a 100pt player. Pair him up with Willy Styles. Tavares isn't getting any younger. I like him, but he isn't Matthews. Keep Bertuzi. Our playoff hopes were hit with injuries and illness. Not much you can do about that. I really enjoy the vlogs. The same way you post videos about visiting Toronto and the surrounding areas. I’d like to see videos playing tourist in Scotland. Something along the lines of hidden gems and off the beaten path. Hockey related it’s pretty cool you’re an outsider fan of hockey. As a Canadian I take it for granted. With that said maybe a future vlog about some hockey history or another NHL game. Say Buffalo or Detroit and the things you notice as an outsider.

I like Keefe, but I get it, we gotta find SOME way to get the offense going in the playoffs. I mean.. I don't think Keefe was "the problem", but at a time like this you wanna shake things up as much as possible to see if you can get something to happen.

In game 7 it could of been a leafs win with the chances that never went in, the fate of a coach depended on a bounce his players' way. The media expected them to lose in four, self included they gave it a respectable effort. Changes have to be made and on a team that is good the finger of who to blame for failure is usually pointed at the coach and management. My opinion their star players do not have enough grit for the rules in play off hockey. Marner or Nylander have to be traded. Tavares is older and will not get a huge contract, keeping him is not an issue to me Craig Berube knows what it takes to be a cup winner and was a Reaves in his day of playing. Good stuff Victoria.

keefe took the leafs backwards and is a horrible coach , babcock had this team going in the right direction , keefe brought nothing to the table and im glad keefe is gone

I thought Keefe did a good job, but it was time. The biggest issue with Toronto over the past few years is that if you take the things they are good at (goal scoring and the Power Play) away from them, they have no where else to go. A lot the problems in Toronto are also roster construction. Their defense does not move the puck well enough outside of Rielly and having a guy in net who can be consistent from game to game.

At this point, the Leafs need to be managed and coached by AI. Humanity alone will NEVER improve them.

Keefe was too soft on the stars when he benched somebody it was a fourth liner or a 5th or 6th defenceman.

It was inevitable that Keefe would be let go. I think MLSE should have not had him speak at the same time as the players. So Shanahan is back. That’s a mistake because it looks like his philosophy will continue with overpaid players who don’t turn up the effort in the postseason. Seems to me that the Leafs are a team selected by committee, all the executives get a say on personnel and we wind up with individuals instead of a cohesive team. I’ve been a Leafs fan since the late ‘50’s so perhaps I’m just bitter to watch the mismanagement of this team continue. Less ‘super-ego-stars’ and more grinders is what’s required…😊

"Management" is expected to speak tomorrow, but they haven't said who. Will it be MLSE CEO Keith Pelley announcing Shanahan is fired?

If They don't hire a Coach that will train to Dominate the 5 Positions, then nothing will Change. Toronto Hire Coaches and Players to make Big Investments look good since 1995. Until this Changes, No Cup.
