They didn't form a band, they joined an existing band and, according to Kenney Jones, they didn't particularly want Stewart because of trouble with the previous lead singer. They took him as a favour to Ron Wood. Also, they had a well deserved rep for smashing hotel rooms

I had no idea until tonight that Eric had passed. It was only about four months ago that I stumbled upon a reaction video about the most elegant key change in all of pop history. Of course I played "All by myself" about a hundred times. I had known the song before but not appreciated how well written and performed it had been. I learnt of the connection with Rachmaninov and the history of it. I must have played that song a hundred times or more in the past few months. All the while Eric was on his last legs. Farewell Eric. You are a giant among us. Thanks for the music and trust we shall never forget you. You will never be All By Yourself. ❤

Wasn't "Woman From Tokyo", it was "Space Truckin'" which would've been an amazing way to start the day. Unfortunately, it was their last day. Deep Purple wrote the song "Contact Lost" as a tribute to the astronauts who died.

I don't think that the story of how 'Smoke on the Water' came about is "a little-known fact". It's very well known.

Did you know Don and Mel kicked Mark Farner from the band? Even though Mark wrote and sang the majority of the songs in the band. They really screwed him over!

Side looking out was one of my favorite songs and it took me a week but I learned how to play CLOSER TO HOME Note for Note from beginning to end and I do mean the long version . God Bless Mark Farner loved his guitar work .
