I nice bass cost’s more than I put into. Now, if the wood would be better, my bass would beat many top basses. The wood is the thing. Don’t get me wrong... with the upgrades I have improved the sound enormously. What I would do today is to save some more money and look for nice offer of a used bass on Reverb. The wood is more important than the hardware, pickups and electronics. Cheers!

Maybe you are forgetting something... try change from El Capitan to 10.8 or 10.7... It’s the only thing I can come up with. Cheers!

Hi, months after this video I had to send the guitar to a tech. Since I changed country, the wood reacted to the new humid weather. The tech had to lower the white part from the bridge.

Sorry to hear that. A con of this process is that if you modify/delete audio and/or edit, merge and delete unused audio, it won’t work... If you didn’t delete any audio, I suggest trying every “revert to” you have (before the accident). Hope it works. Cheers.

You are welcome. For home use is absolutely ok. I mean if you are playing alone in your room, you can lower the master volume and/or set the amp in the “low” setting. If you play alone in your house and more volume, you definitely have it. Now, if play with a drummer, I think this amp has the minimum volume to do so. Cheers!

Hi! If you like it as it is stock, don’t do it. I was in the search for sound. Now, for the price, the instrument is good but the wood is not resonant. If you want something better, I would suggest to look for a used bass in reverb.com. (I would do that). Cheers!

maybe i'll swap the pick up for lindy fralin but i'm not even sure...it just sounds amazing...and is gorgeous....love the mapple fretboard....resonant...well it's not a guitar... @@preciseaudioblog

but not after the bridge installment and you can bring the beef into the sound by getting a bigger amp or an EQ proof me wrong.

@@KingCrimson82 well, the tone knob there is 85% towards lows. You’ll get the beef if you go direct. The resonance of the strings to body day/night. At the end of the day it’s about personal taste.

ôf course, i just had one where a slight grounding problem took away 1/3 of the top end. And it was day and night, how a beginner would imagine a 2k and a 200 bug Bass difference would sound like. The main reason for hardware changes, to me, like the bridge would be that the heavy usage would use up, bend, the tinnier one, i doubt that this can be done, i do not think it bends, and sometimes you got a situation where , the light aluminium gibson bar, moment where you got more top end with lighter hardware. In the comparison here the stock sounds better "to me". @@KingCrimson82 Got you. You like those sounds. (Btw, I don’t know what did they use to record those takes and wether they did some post processing. If you watch my first demos, when the bass was full stock, didn’t sound like that (yes, I 80% low on the tone, but still). Now, taking in count the budget, and since I have discovered that the would is the most important, before buying the Squier, I would save more money and buy a better (but used) bass on Reverb. You can find some great offers there.

I had a Vintage Modified PJ that sounded alright when I got it so inwas thinking about swapping pick ups but I saw a video of the same bass with raised pick ups so I tried it man oh man did it make a huge difference, I kept the pick ups and put CTS pot's which made them sound even better 👍
