Pulling my engine to fix some noise caused by stretched chains. This engine has 225,000 miles and consumes little to no oil. I am resealing the long block and replacing all of the timing components.

Good informative video. Is it extremely bad for the N47 and N57s if they are serviced every 18 months (instead of 12) but no more than 5k mile intervals?
1.5 years is a good amount of time for motor oil to begin it's degradation process. On the flip side, 5k miles is a very reasonable distance to go and I think that you will likely not suffer any long term effects from doing this.
Great video mate, I went to look at a 5 series with an N57 in it. It had 145k miles and a very subtle noise on start up, sounded just like the start of this video I assumed it was a stuck pulley from being sat for some time but after some research it was indeed timing chain noise! Everyone says the N57 doesn't have chain issues but again after research they share parts and design from the N47 so very much do have issues.
I have done 2 n57s, to the three n47 timing replacements in last couple years
I had n57 s from 2019, oil changes at 6000 miles, EGR and EGR cooler recall, admission clean, radiators cleaning from outside ( it can cause overheating ), timing chains with the oil pump at 100-150 k miles and they will run for ever
