Simply beautiful! Very clear voices and clean orchestra sounding as though there is enough space in the venue to get some beautiful acoustics.

It's so sad that Katherine Watson has retired from music, at least for 2 years now. Hopefully only temporarily, she is one of the most incredible sopranos I've ever heard who specialise in the French Baroque.

This movement never gets old. The constant building and releasing of tension is nothing short of absolute genius. The almost inversion of the descending minor motif into a hopeful rising major motif is just beyond exquisite and leads into the most tear-wrenching moment of the whole opera at 2:53 when the choir comes in. Just incredible. The fact this only has 1.5k views is a true crime.

So moving, stunning doesn’t even cut it. The sheer emotion of this music is almost as much thanks to the stunning interpretation and deep understanding by the amazing Vashegyi as it is the music by Mondonville himself.

SUCH a great movement. Vashegyi interprets it perfectly yet again!

Reinoud Van Mechelen is the statue of a phenomenal Tenor! I can't even imagine Mondonville hearing him and having anything to say but appreciation! he sings amazing but we should remember that his special timbre is nothing but a gift of God given to extremely few people on earth!

She is one of the best singers I have ever heard! we don't have so many great baroque singers, I hope she will not spoil her talent by singing Verdi, Puccini, Wagner and such throat breaking screaming composer's music and remains within her angelic style.

Absolutely mind-blowing how French their Latin-pronunciation sounds seeming as they're Hungarian. Gyorgy Vashegyi is truly one of the greatest French baroque music interpreters ever. This is another landmark recording! (You can find the full works from it on CZcams)
