Thanks for posting!! I'm sure I'd have been totally invested in this meeting if I'd been a supporter there, but objectively viewed, most of this is pretty mediocre racing. No wonder the sport got itself in such a mess and started to decline so heavily. That's without the unscrupulous promoters and even worse stadium owners that have now left us with so few tracks.

I was probably there. Spent practically every Friday evening and Saturday afternoon at the track. I was one of the crew who put the sheets down on the greyhound track before the racing on the Friday evening, and then again for Saturday training school. I would have been mid-late teens at the time. Never bothered watching the post-match racing nor filling in the program. Was too busy running around playing hide and seek with my siblings and other friends we knew from Hackney. It's really nice to go back in time and see this stadium as it was back in the day and instantly remembering it. Your pre-match interviews in the pits were good to see as well because I used to hang around that area (I had an all-areas access because my dad was one of the crew and ran the Saturday sessions). Such fond memories. The smell is also something I remember with great fondness too.

Got one of those yesterday from an all year fireworks shop for New Year's Eve at midnight along with two packs of Firework King Big Bad Bang shot tubes.

I remember watching him at vikings and he use to work with me olde man while he raced at Hull,,, n where n what is he up to nowadays

I was the wee boy who got hit by the bike after it crashed into the pits in 1982 at Blantyre .My uncle is Derek Richardson who rode for the Tigers . Great memories 😊 .
