Used to go to RNM when it was in Landsdowne Mall parking lot. The one in Vulcan Way was also pretty cool. Those were cheap and good times.

This market is the worst.Big deal,food. Everything is overpriced and the vendors outside of food are boring overpriced junk. I can’t believe how disappointing this place was.
I rather go to taipei when their food is much cheaper and their night market is free.

There was a thriving industy of these in Vancouver for a while when I was a kid in the early 2000's, the best was the ones that had unlimited play by the hour. Nobody wants to plug coins into a machine, it seems like it would be great for business again since everyone is broke here now

Big part of the appeal of night market is how good the food is / the variety / creativity etc, as well as the low cost of it. Taiwan's night market is like 10 times cheaper than this, if you are thinking about how expensive it is while " enjoying your food ", not really a good experience.. Like a lot of ppl says...go to it once like every 3, 5 years for the experience and then you are good. It's no longer a night market at that price at that point.

You gotta be an idiot to eat at the RIchmond nite market, everything is not just expensive, but its a rip off. YOU could have a better meal at a restaurant in Yatetown Vancouver, whihc is a hip and cool neighbourhood. Plus the fee to get is is $8.5, and the owner doesnt give you a receipt which means he is keep the GST tax. This whole place is a scam and made for idiots

Paying $8.50 to enter the Richmond night market isn't worth it. It's truly sad if this is the biggest night market in North America because I've just recent gone to the night market in Taipei, Taiwan and it was way way bigger than this night market 😅😅😅

Heard the land there is numbered as it will be developed in the near future. In the olden days It used to have a lot more knick knack shlocky stuff but now, it has more food than anything else.
What's crazy is there all Asian speaking English in Vancouver,and don't even sound Asian
as a white guy, I find girls with a different accent than the typical boring canadian and american accent so attractive and sexy. LOL
If we speak Chinese you might not even recognize. There’s some who does have the accent because they haven’t lived in Canada for long or they came to Canada as parents. A lot does know how to speak mandarin because they’re from Taiwan/China or they speak Cantonese because they’re from HK. Or somewhere in SE Asia. But the thing about Vancouver is Chinese people are spread out, Richmond has a Chinese community that makes dim sum accessible, Asian malls to walk around, so as Chinese it’s a place for us to embrace our culture living in Canada.

It's $15 for 4 pieces of fruit dipped in boiled sugar water. That probably costs about $1 to make. It's gimmicky to charge $15 because it's a foreign novelty and she's spot on.

The fact that the night market started out as a cheaper way to shop and eat but now it’s getting into the stratosphere it’s not that great an experience as before! Also buyer beware if you buy something that u don’t like and want to return good like!
Yea, I saw the night market back when it was just a small thing falling apart right by that corner beside Home Depot. It got replaced to the Bridgeport one and mostly just Chinese, and socks were like 3/$5 with cute design. It then kept expanding and it was just like only Asian food and a couple of small stalls, but it kept expanding, there was once like a small roller coaster thing I passed, but what it’s become now, it’s become a big tourist attraction. Old v new, it has its pros and cons, the old was very quaint, very moms and pops, very ground up kind of community, now it’s a very big indie gig kind of place, everyone works very hard, and all the changes makes it so Canadian. Food should be fusion, business should be evolving, people should make memorable experiences. People say it’s expensive, but that’s because it’s not for you to try everything all in one night. If you do that and don’t come again it’s not a good experience.
Rip off entry fee. Toronto night markets have many events and its free entry. Anything to make a buck these days in Vancouver

I HATE the night market. I went there twice like 15-20 years ago. Too overcrowded for overpriced asian junk food. Seriously why do people PAY to ATTEND this garbage fair? You can get fair priced food anywhere in the lower mainland and not have to jostle with the mini humans who continuously walk into you because you look different. This hell hole deserves a big NO!!! I remember seeing this guy who sold phone accessories at the night market. He was in the DOLLAR STORE at Lansdowne Mall. This was where he stocked up on $1-2 dollar items that he would sell at the night market for $7-10. He was yelling at the cashier because they didn't have enough stock FOR HIM!!?? He was holding up real people in line so he could yell for no reason whatsoever. What a tool!!!

Family of 4 here. We spent about 130 on the night we visited. $30 for merchandise, $25.50 for admission (1 kid was free for being 6 or under). The rest was on food. I ended up making instant noodles after we got home.
Like I said, try to do over a span of a few nights 1-3 things every time. It’s a good place to try a little bit of everything here and there and interact and there’s all sorts of people there. It’s more to your advantage if you just go every time you get a pay check that way you’re only spending $30-50 and it won’t break your bank.
