For those who don't know, the actual _Yudachi_ IJN Destroyer was sunk from gunfire by USN Heavy Cruiser _USS Portland_ (CA-33). And Portland's man gun battery is 8 inches (20 cm). And Ashigara saying that & Yudachi's reaction to it are probably a reference to that.
The amount historical reference on both the anime and the game were among of the many Reasons why I prefer Kancolle over it's competitors.
Also might happen to be the simple fact of a heavy cruiser threatening to shoot a destroyer. Like that's just bad news for Yudachi

I can never understand historical warship geeks who worship this franchise even with all their obscure knowledge
i can try to give you context for this particular joke. yuudachi says "poi" that means "maybe" because the battle where she was sunk was such a shitshow regarding the reports of the actions of each ship (even for night battle standards it was messy, every ship regardless of side had a wildly different story of the battle) so one could say that nobody know what yuudachi did on that battle, so she says poi to reflect that uncertainty. as for Ashigara's anger, the clip cuts it short, but she had a bad night at a mixer and couldn't find a date, feeding into the joke that she's a "hungry wolf" for men (she gained that nickname due to a british newspaper report that called her a hungry wolf as an insult due to the malnourished crew and cramped accomodations of the ship at the time Ashigara was visiting Britain for a coronation, and the japanese people loved the nickname as a praise).
