Strong Cheap $8 Tomato Trellis

This wood trellis only cost $8 to make. I used 2x4x12 untreated. I cut in half to make 2 pieces 6 each. Then I ripped them to make 4 pieces of 2x2x6. Sharpen the ends and drive to into the ground as posts and screw in one across the top. Cut the 4th piece into 3 pieces, 24" long and use these for stakes.

Replacing Trailer Boards and Lights

From ugly caterpillar to beautiful Giant Swallowtail butterfly

The Giant Swallowtail only lays its eggs on citrus tree leaves. This winter was extremely cold for Lower Alabama and the Panhandle of Florida. We had 3 consecutive days in the teens which killed more than 90% of the satsuma trees. We were very fortunate. We only have one and it lost all of its leaves, but they came back. We had several Orangedog caterpillars, that's the name for the Giant Swall...

Pretty nice idea. I had not seen those little clips before to use with the string. Amazon I assume? Thanks for sharing... next video you might consider shooting in landscape mode instead of portrait.
@@webcompanion I got them thru Amazon. I'll share the link. Yeh, I wanted to make a short from this too and shorts must be portrait mode.
Thank you! Looks easy
Raised garden beds sure can be expensive to make and fill, but at least the investment like yours can last more than a few years.
I am wondering about all the places that should be greased/lubricated. The manual is not great. Would you make a quick video on that, please?
@@sallyknutson6595 There aren't many places to be greased, the front wheel spindles. On the deck, I think all the bearings are sealed, not needing greasing. It's time to do maintenance again. I'll video that and verify the grease points.
Excellent video. Thanks!! This is exactly what I needed to know to get started!
so wanted to see the deck and belt put back on..
@@ChillinwithCav I put a 2x4 under the back end of the deck to hook it up then connect the front rod. Then I can just pull the belt back over the edge of the drive pulley and rotate it while holding the belt in place.
This was a great video and helped me fix my fan issue. For some reason after I replaced the fan though my fridge is cooling too much and freezing over and I’m not sure what is causing it
Good job. Lots of good info....... Show us your dog next time. I heard him in the background......
@@NoMore4YearsofFailur that's Peaturkey. Funny name but it's just an old Southern term for something that's not worth much. We love him.
Hello would it be similar to replace the freezer fan? My freezer is at -18 and said it should be at -3
Thank you the video, I noticed the contact area on the circuit board was in pretty good shape. I couldn’t see the wiper part. Have you tried to clean both , lubricate and reassemble and see if it works?
I thought about it because I'm a tinker. But if the potentiometer wiper is not making good contact, it's usually not worth messing with
So so so so helpful
Thank you for a detailed video. I have same refrigerator, the issue with mine is everything is freezing in the fridge, from eggs to everything. Could this also be related to fan?
yes, I believe so.
What size is the drive belt ?
Exact problem, bump worked, part ordered. Thank you for this video!
Followup, mine is a CFE28USHLSS and the fan uses a completely different rubber boot to connect to the removable panel, not the back of the fridge. I was very afraid of tearing the boot so I cut the old fan off of it instead of stretch the rubber. After reassembly, the main fan works but the drawer fan now doesn’t. I took it all apart and ensured it was plugged in but still never turns on. Fridge seems ok though.
My father-in-law fills the holes of the blocks with good soil, and plants onions and basil or lettuce in them. You would think this would limit their size, but the onions get as large as the ones in the garden bed, Sometimes filling the holes.
Debora has.planted strawberries in ours. They do really well.
Mine the fridge is freezing everything
I appreciate the insights!!!
Thank you for the tip! I have watermelon, acorn squash, carrots, growing abundantly in ground with woodchips and horse maneur. But my tomatoes and bell peppers are kinda stunted, i will build them a raised bed :)
I want to get into planting more vegetables so this is actually really helpful, thanks
What is the purpose of a raised bed if you have plenty of land?
TLC is much easier. You focus more on a small plot than a large garden. You pull a weed here or there as you walk by. You don't need a tiller. The soil is special. It's hard to make the soil in a large garden as special as a raised bed. You don't have to bend down as much. My wife and both like that.
Super helpfull I'm still not figuring out why 1 of mine won't turn It worked for a few minutes

Excellent, thanks!
Thank you, Mr. Wade! This is very helpful to me! :) (I'm trying to cap ours, maybe temporarily, because they are currently turning on when we simply turn our pump on, which is not our desired behavior). God bless you, and your family! Thank you,
I can't figure out why you wouldn't clean your machine before you started to service it.
Great video! How doee the deck pully spring hook in? I forgot to look before it fell off. Thanks! :)
Outstanding job, young man! Great job, great information, and great video!
They make a lot of cloth gadgets nowadays that you can wet and put on your head or wear around your neck. Or you just could get you a sheet or a towel and wet it and wear it and that would keep you cool. Something I used to do when I had to work in the desert. And please get plenty of electrolytes. Water will just flush out all the vitamins and minerals of your body and you will actually get dehydrated. Also, salt intake helps.
What a great job. I was thinking about something like this but my wife had doubts. You convinced her! 😁 Does your cover system handle strong wind? We don't have tornadoes here but usually it gets quite windy in September
Oh yes. The hoops do really well in the wind. I just bricks to hold the netting down. I use the post holders, the short pieces of PVC as a base for hoops and the string trellis
@@countrylivingwiththewades8784 great, thanks I will try it!

How many heads do you have on one solenoid?
Actually all mine are manual. I have 8 heads on a line from the well. That still keeps 40 psi in the house. This would be too expensive to use with county water.
@@countrylivingwiththewades8784 ok I got’cha! I was going to run a 2” line in a loop and T off of it. I’ve got about 55 psi on that 2” line. I figure I can run about 6 of them.
if you are on a well, you will be limited by your pump capacity. Most residential wells can handle 6 heads. You can also go to a smaller nozzle size if your pressure is dropping too low.
I just discovered last night that I have a similar issue, but its my freezer. Set at Zero but stayed 27 through the night. And I noticed no ice was made yesterday. So I checked the side vents and no air. Shot with a temp gun and one was about 45 and the other was like 51. I will be checking the freezer fan tonight after work.
I'm doing his except my beds are 32 "x10' inside dimensions. I'll be using 5 bales of peat (15 cubic feet) half yard of 3-year-old cold compost I made myself, and a half dozen bags of perlite. Ill add in some charcoal out of my fire pit and a bag of Azomite and I should have all the nutrition I need for years. The blocks will be the most expensive component at my local Lowes. I have the bed finished but before I fill it I'm trying to think of a way to make it sub irrigated cheaply without losing much depth.
That's putting a lot of thought into it.
It's also easier to use an impact wrench when replacing blades
You got that right
I use a blower and blow the grass, etc off the deck everytime I mow. I also put green goop in the wheels to prevent flats. Works great.
I have a friend who has a lawn service. He blows his too. I tested foam in one tire that was leaking and the green stuff in the other.
I am going to do just this to my trailer. I will put one of those angled pieces at the end after I cut off the metal to get the boards out. I don't want to half to bend the boards either.
This video has more likes than you have subscribers. I subscribed and liked it.
A good replacement for fill dirt is large rotting logs. Takes up space and is great for the soil long term.
True. Anything organic put in as filler still only lasts until it rots also.
True, but saw dust, or wood shavings like those used for pet cages mixed with the garden soil will likely not shrink as much over time. The catch is any wood product takes a while, as in years to break down and will soak up nutrients while doing so. The only way to get around those issues is to gather rotted wood from a forest that will include a lot of critters, or wood from an old compost pile.
I lernt the taller you build a raised bed garden the more dirt it takes to fill it
Yes. It's a one time expense but it is much easier for my wife to work it.
@@countrylivingwiththewades8784 we just completed a 24 inch high raised garden for my Wife .
good video ... thanks.
Cement & rock's?
I hear ya about the prices going up. Most prices are 30% higher on everything. It's crazy how every time a certain political party takes over gas and taxes go up.
If you're still running that thing, I'd suggest swapping the front tires with airless flat free tires. As for the back one, if that still leaks, try adding some green Slime. Did that for mine and only ever have to top off the rear tires after winter lay up.
I put the green slime stuff in the second back tire. I have to top it off about every other week. The first back tire holds up well
Very skillful work sir Awesome 👏
