HAHAH I was wondering if you'd drive by my place, but not only that, you caught me pulling out of my driveway in my rusty red truck (sticks out like a sore thumb) at about 6:45 and you follow me downtown. AND it totally looks like a piece of paper flew out my window so better late than never you should probably call GPPD and report! I'm 31 and own the duplex at the corner of Neff and Kercheval next to Panera. So no snobby old money coming from me! And my friends across Kercheval who own the other duplex are also millennial's, so the demographics are definitely starting to change. If you ever want a tour of the 1928 duplex and its weird features like double boiler heat, central incinerator, and giant attic, let me know! Also got ya for park access and a beer on me if ya want to talk real estate.

Marshall Fields at River Oaks was special especially if you couldn’t get to the downtown Chicago one. Plus River Oaks was best when it was an all outside mall. Enclosing the place was cool at first but when the city went downhill, so did the mall. But Fuddruckers, Beginngans, Outback Steakhouse when it first opened, man, Cal City used to be poppin.

I work in the downtown train station that serves Harvey. The people going there are nice, hardworking people…obviously they have jobs so it’s just weird to me how bleak it is…

I was born in Chicago in 1957. We moved to Riverdale when I was 4 years old and we left for Mchenry in the mid 60s. The brick house on the corner @21:10 was were we lived. I still has awnings on the front. When we moved there, our house and the one next door were the only ones on the block, the rest was all field. I watched them build all those apartments! The workmen gave me some of the crates the bathtubs came in and scraps of wood to build my first fort. Riding through the park with my bike I was racing my Dad home, he was in the car on School street. I was too busy looking at him and ran in to a tree. Totaled my bike and got banged up. Never made that mistake again! Thanks for this video!

Despite it's problems and whatnot, it is a pretty town. The yards are, for the most part, kept tidy, and what homes remain occupied also look pretty tidy and cared for. What a shame to let an area that could be beautiful just die off. What a waste.

Mannn most of the southern Cook County suburbs are in disarray. Thank goodness the western suburbs are in a much better shape and look a hell of alot better esthetically

Dixmoor has no money because the people who live there ,don’t pay the high ridiculous Property taxes . With that said there’s no money to fix anything period and they can barely pay the police or city workers . The police and politicians are corrupt, just like in Dolton. Ya can’t get streets fixed ,water pipes replaced and have state of the art schools for free .
