Scammers are using rental listings sites to rob people of money and private info, maybe more. Be careful! This example involves Zillow, which did not properly vet a "leasing agent" that turned out to be another listing website, and this can be risky for renters!

    Short term gain for long term pain. Look what happened years ago with AMD's driver issues. 10 - 12 years later people still avoid buying an AMD gpu because they heard somewhere they have bad drivers, even when those cards are much cheaper then Nvidia's options and run perfectly fine. And that was just over some software issues, where as Intel tried to lie and cover up these problems for 2 years. first it was i9's now it appears that all 13th and 14th gen could have issues, even budget cpu's. Add to that a lack of transparancy, deception, denying RMA's, no recall while selling cpu's that will fail and taking their sweet time offering a "fix" that won't help you if you already experienced issues leaves a very bad taste in the mouths of consumers. Even if Intel's 15th gen launches and it's perfect, there sales will be low because they lost consumer trust. It'll take years to build that back if ever. I doubt unless there are major changes to Intel's leadership that company will survive after next year.

    • @ThePCExpertAmateur
      @ThePCExpertAmateur Před 14 dny

      The best way to control the speeds is through BIOS. You should set a fan curve for the fans, and set the pump to whatever percentage you'd be happy with as long as it doesn't adversely affect the temps to the point that you're losing performance. You can usually also control the fans through any of a large number of other programs, including your mobo's software and stuff like Fan Control by Rem0o. Fans at 90% isn't ideal. That means it won't ramp up higher when your CPU gets too hot, and it'll always be the same level of noise. On the flip side, fans and pumps run at one speed last longer. Given how inexpensive TR fans are, I'd just let a PWM curve control the fans. I run my pump at 100%.

    Have you considered hiring a realtor to find you an apartment? I don't know about the US but in Canada and other countries some realtors can be hired to find you rental properties. As a renter you won't have to pay anything, their commission is typically the first month rent, so it is paid by the landlord. You are more likely to get something from a small landlord in a duplex/triplex or perhaps a basement apartment this way. I used one in the past to great results.

    I just came across your video and idk what area you live in, but $1300, even for a one bedroom is a pretty good deal compared to where I live. Be careful, there are so many scams out there. I live in one state and rent an apartment in another, where my husband works. And, omg, the scammers out there are insane. We ended up going with an apartment in a small complex. Many of the scams start out how they're out of the country but want you to venmo, paypal, etc the deposit. Most of the time, they don't own the apartment. They've stolen pics of someone else's place. Many times its not even for rent. Just remember, if it sounds too good to be true, it's a scam!! Never send anyone money. Verify that they own it with the city or township. There are more scammers than legit renters. I'm glad your nephew saw it for what it was. You might want to consider staying where u are and paying the $1300. You will see how expensive apartments are! A one bedroom goes for around $2200 and 2 bedrooms go for $2800+, where I live. I'm on the east coast, a couple states over from Ohio. I wish you luck. Btw, most legit places will have furniture in the pics because someone is still living there. My son needed a place, I went on Facebook on my township's page and just asked if someone knew someone who was looking for a tenant and I was fortunate to be put in touch with a woman who wanted to rent her place but didn't want to post it because of all the scammers out there. It worked out well and my son is pleased and so is his new landlord! Best of luck to you, be safe! Edit: my brother took a second job at Amazon, he quit after 3 days. This particular series of Cougar fans, the CF-V12HP and CF-V12HPB (black version) were basically tied with the Silverstone Air Penetrators for some of the best PC fans 10-ish years ago. These Cougars and the Silv AP's had that focused airflow design which multiple test sources proved actually worked as advertised (the concentrated, focused "beam" of air flow). Then, all of a sudden, the Silverstone APs and especially the Cougar fans - Cougar in general for that matter - disappeared. No one talks about them any more, they're in no more review vids, no more test/comparison vids...Really weird. I have 4 of the Cougar CF-V12HPB PWM (max 1500 RPM) as side intakes on my Cooler Master HAF 932. I've been trying to find out if Cougar's newer fans are evolved versions of the CF-V12HP/B, cheaper versions, better versions, the same but just with added RGB...or what. I get huge temp decreases with motherboard VRM, GPU, M.2 drives, and RAM by using the 4 Cougar side intakes VS not using them. With all 4 at max RPM (1500), I get 10, 15, even 20 degree C reductions (depending on component and test scenario). They're also extremely quiet and comfortable sounding for my taste. I'm thinking of replacing them with 2500-3000 RPM fans like the Phanteks T30, Noctua iPPC-3000 120, IceGale Xtreme, Arctic P12 Max, or BeQuiet Silent Wings Pro 4 but I'm undecided as I don't know how much of a difference, if any, at max RPM they'll make over the Cougars at max RPM.

      Yes, the focusing grill, which may have a slightly negative impact on static pressure, does what they claim. Thank you for this info! You're not quite right about the reviews. I've reviewed several SS APs on my channel. ;) I have not done testing of that specifically, although it's crossed my mind. There really are not a lot of people who appreciate side-mounted fans. I have done AIO placement testing and side mounting with the fans exhausting tends to be the best. If I had to guess, one of two things will happen: the stronger fans will have an even better effect, with or without turbulence/dead spots that might negatively impact other parts of the PC. If you try, let me know what you learn, please! Thanks again for sharing!

A 280 would be even better than a 240 and is often the best bang for the buck, so if you want, go for the 2-fan version. I think, 240 or 360, you're going to be satisfied.

So, on their recommendation, I ordered another one to compare because, although I made two sound recordings, they couldn't hear the noise that I was hearing (not the normal DBB fan noises). They said I could just return whichever.

    Ummmm... Couple things .... If something is actually "Policy" for any company it will be in employee handbook. So you should be able to show that in print. As far as "Full Disability" it is very very difficult to get on and can take many many years to get it awarded!! In regards to medical leave short or long.. you would also need to contact workmans compansation (job and family services) on that as well. As its separate from the actual said company. And if you can and want to work and the Amazon location does not have work that you can do because of the restriction, they can and will put you someplace that you can work that fits with the restriction. Like still paid your hourly Amazon wage but actually working someplace else. Like my step dad had to have knee surgery due to an workman's comp accident at the company he worked for ( Trucking company). So he was not able to work doing that for awhile. So they sent him to work at a local Goodwill were he was basically a greeter at the door for them. He just sat in a chair yet making what he work normally be paid by his Tricking job. Also I will mention...Im beleive and understand you may have other physical limitations that you mentioned. ... But when it comes to restrictions at your job they are only ever going to consider the restriction that you have a case avtive for currently, or anything that you have had with the company and is documented. They are never going to take into consideration anything that is just told to them by yourself. Hopefully that made sense... What i mean is the restrictions are for the current or ongoing sholder issue and only that. Not that and pre-existing foot, thumb,knee issues you mentioned. Just saying.... Lastly hopefully you have long term and short term disability coverage on your insurance. If so you should be able to get the short term process started after your first week ( 7 business days) of being off work for the mediacl leave. And you just use it untill the allotted amount of time and then it will go into the long term disability. Its all a pain in the ass... I understand. But you will have to make calls over and over and ve the "squeeky wheel to get the greese".. because most always the person or people you have to deal with are just one of a few or the only one that is also dealing with a huge nuber of other employees other then yourself with similar or much much worse issues. So as i said you have to be on top of it all yourself!!! Just try to do it in a way to get documentation of what is said or stated. So that you have a paper trail. If you have any conversation on the phone ask the person to send an email stating amything important that was talked about. Because if you don't have something in writing then its nothing more then "They said, You said" type of thing"... Which is Nothing if you should have to go seek legal representation or go to court.

      Amazon doesn't like to give anything in print. I can't even get my medical records of my injuries and treatments from them. In fact, they will either tell you that you cannot have them, or that you have to go through a third party that shouldn't even be allowed (as with my medical records). For the record, I have seen the policy stated on signs posted at KCVG, and I've seen it via computer screen at HR. It is real - not something I came up with to make false complaints about Amazon. If you didn't mean to imply that, please say so. I didn't say "full disability" I said "permanent disability", which is a different process internal to Amazon. I am not sure why you are saying I have to contact JFS - they are not responsible for worker's comp AFAIK. Amazon has hired Sedgwick, an incredibly greedy company, to handle their WC (pun intended). The only thing they could do would be to provide me with food stamps, Medicaid and possibly financial assistance. If you meant something else, please explain. A transfer to another facility, if it is possible given my restrictions, is unlikely to be possible unless there is a role I can fulfill that fits my various restrictions. Even if they transfer me, I will suffer an immediate decrease in pay in many cases because KCVG offers higher pay rates than most other locations. Again, it's not likely that they can place me somewhere else, nor is it likely that they would even make the attempt. Finally, although it is hard for me to walk a lot, there is work there that I can do without walking. They are just not willing to accommodate me. They do this to "useless" people, even if they were once very productive like me, and especially vocal people like me. They certainly aren't going to pay me to work somewhere else, even doing charity work, and definitely not at full pay. Heck, if I can get declared disabled by my doctor and Amazon miraculously accepts that, which they've already demonstrated that they don't want to do repeatedly, and they have to send me home (like now, but they haven't accepted anything) I will only earn 60% of my current pay. That's about $13/hr. You are correct about how they deal with restrictions. I have already submitted documentation for both my shoulder, and my feet have been declared a big enough problem that they sent me home because, again, they refused to accommodate me as per Amazon policy and, as with last month, LIED and said they couldn't by trying to claim that I was requesting unsafe shoes, which I didn't ask for. I agree with the rest of your advice, and I'm trying to limit my interactions to email even though I would feel much more comfortable on the phone. I know their tricks and how they will lie and cheat me. They are scum.

      @@ThePCExpertAmateur I will try to explain myself a bit more. In regards to WC company's pay for or into WC insurance (per say). That is to the state they are in and that covers any Workman's Comp claims that they have currently or anytime someone has one. That is why I mentioned JFS. I understand that they have a third party company that deals with WC for Amazon but it still all goes through "Burero of workman's comp" and they are often part of JFS. Lastly that third party company I have no doubt are horrible to deal with!! They are in the business of working for companys to pay out the least amount of money as possible to anyone that has issues related to work place issues such as yours. So thats how they make their money !!! So yes they are greedy!! No I was not saying that you made the work shoes thing up. I was only saying that if it is indeed an actual policy then it would be in the employee handbook. Be that in a physical printed book or a digital one. If you have seen that on the computer then you should be able to print that page off of the computer so you have it and can show that to anyone who may not be aware of there being such a policy. While I said I understand that you have other issues in regards to what you can and can't do for work. Again I am sure you do have the other physical issues. But Amazon is only going to try to consider giving you work place accommodations to documented restrictions that you put on your application when you applied or anything that happens while currently being employed and working for Amazon that causes you to have restrictions. Such as the shoulder issue. That is the only restriction they are going to honor in regards to finding other work or positions for you to do while on the restrictions. They believe legally thats it.. they dont have to take into consideration anything thing else that was pre existing. That is all I was trying to explain about that. The other thing is the medical records and stuff. You might not be able to get that from Amazon or they might give you the run around... But legally you have the right to get all your medical records. You just might have to do that foot work on your own and contacting all the Dr's officers you have been to and seen by. But they Have to supply you with any and all of your medical records!! I know it probably is very difficult if not impossible to get stuff in writing. But you Have to be persistent in that and request for it. Or at least get a lawyer to write up a letter stating to Amazon that you will Only have contact with them via email, mail, or through the lawyer! No other way... Because anything that is said between you and the other person on the phone is nothing in regards to the law!! Because its only hearsay... Your word against theirs. Should it come to something like that. Also make sure you are documenting every time you talk to someone on the phone so that you have the correct date, time, who you talked to and who they work for etc. Because they like nothing more than for you to get the dates mixed up or to not be able to give the name of the person you talked to etc. In regards to what Amazon does or doesn't do for certain types of people and not others etc. You have to only be focused on your actual situation and thats all. Not what you think or know they did or didn't do for someone else. Because the only thing that matters to them and to a court is your situation only. Nothing else will be taken into consideration. As for the disability being full or permanent im not sure its most likely just a word thing or lack or knowing anything else it might actually be called. But I think what that sounds like is long term disability and or Short term which is something you pay for as part of your insurance. And I have only ever known them to be an elective you have to choose to have. And you can choose to have just 1 or the other or both or neither of them!... I hope you do have both , but they are a pain to collect on as well because as mentioned with the other company the insurance company wants to pay out the least amount of money as possible. So you offten have to deal with some whos job and performance is based on how little they have paid out to people like yourself. So they are very offten very uncaring and harsh/direct types of people to have to deal with!! Hope that helps on some of the stuff... The WC stuff I mentioned as far as working for a completely different company while on WC. That does happen because if they can or are able to get some work out of a person doing something totally different is preferred to not getting any work out of someone who is on WC. But again that is paid by the state and is a percentage of what you make working at Amazon. In which Amazon pays into WC insurance with the state.

      @agussx40 A BIOS update is just that and, at least in theory, it will erase any malware in BIOS. LogoFAIL is not malware - it's a vulnerability that allows the adding of malware into storage. If there is an official news source suggesting new exploit possibilities for this vulnerability, please send me the link and I'll take a look. Yes, it is not the easiest to exploit.
