    He says take classes or higher a contractor. Lol great advice. You could just go online , download the tds sheet and follow the instructions from the manufacturer. By the way contractors are not clairvoyant, they read the tds sheet to know what to do. The fact that this guy's doesn't include that in his advice means his manipulating the audience to beleive there is a secret method or contractors received formal training on how to apply the coating. Don't play your self. Good job Rebacca making a video that leads home owners to spending more money then they need to. It is true that you wouldn't want to just buy these products and apply them with out thuroughly researching them. But the conclusion this video offers is bullshit. Thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts! You’re absolutely right that the TDS (Technical Data Sheet) is a crucial resource for anyone looking to apply a polyurea concrete coating, and we definitely encourage homeowners to review it thoroughly. Our intention with the video was to highlight the importance of understanding the full scope of a project before diving in. While some homeowners may feel confident after reading the TDS, others might benefit from additional training or hiring a contractor, especially for more complex or large-scale applications. The goal is to ensure that everyone can achieve the best possible results for their specific situation. We appreciate your perspective and hope that our videos continue to provide valuable insights, whether you're a DIY enthusiast or someone looking to hire a pro. Do you know if you can put Hardie siding over existing painted T1-11? I'm in California (fire Country) I would like to apply fire resistant barrier first. Will the wall still breathe? Thanks for any advice.

    • @TheHomeSolutionsChannel
      @TheHomeSolutionsChannel Před 12 dny

      Hey there! Thanks for your question! 😊 You can generally install Hardie siding over existing T1-11, but it’s crucial to ensure the T1-11 is in good condition and properly fastened. I recommend working with a professional to assess the condition of your T1-11 and ensure it’s suitable for re-siding. Applying a fire-resistant barrier is a great idea, especially in fire-prone areas like California. James Hardie siding, along with the proper fire-resistant barrier, can enhance your home’s fire protection. Regarding breathability, a weather barrier designed to prevent water penetration while allowing moisture to escape is key. This will ensure your wall can still breathe and help avoid mold and rot. If you have more questions or need specific advice, feel free to ask! 🏠

      @@donsmith9081 Hi Don! Great to hear your siding is in good shape! For a quality fire-rated underlayment, I recommend products like CertainTeed's Fire Resistant Barrier or Dupont's Tyvek FireCurb. Both are excellent options for enhancing fire resistance while ensuring breathability. As for James Hardie trim options, they offer a variety of choices, including HardieTrim boards. These come in different thicknesses and widths to suit your needs. For replacing your 1x4 trim with a thicker material, HardieTrim 5/4 boards (which are about 1 inch thick) would be a solid option, providing both durability and a nice aesthetic upgrade. Taking these steps can help protect your home from water damage and maintain its structural integrity. Good luck with your project!

      Hey @chrisbrezy392, Thank you for your comment and for sharing your experience! It's great that the initial cracks were repaired and haven't returned. However, noticing a ball rolling towards the back of your home can be a sign of a more serious issue with your foundation or flooring. Here are a few steps you can take: 1. Professional Inspection: It's important to have a structural engineer or foundation specialist assess the situation to determine the extent of the sagging and identify the cause. 2. Monitoring: Keep an eye on any new cracks or changes in your home, such as doors or windows sticking or gaps appearing. 3. Foundation Support: Depending on the severity, solutions may include reinforcing the foundation, adding support beams, or leveling the floor. Addressing these issues early can help prevent more significant problems in the future. It's best to be proactive when it comes to your home's foundation. However, since you're noticing sagging, having a structural engineer inspect it is a wise decision. They can provide a thorough assessment and peace of mind. It's always best to catch and address potential issues early. Good luck, and feel free to reach out if you have any more questions or need further advice!

    • @TheHomeSolutionsChannel
      @TheHomeSolutionsChannel Před měsícem

      Thank you for your comment and checking out the video! For protecting a concrete roof from water seepage due to rain, polyurea is generally the better option. Polyurea coatings are highly durable, flexible, and offer excellent waterproofing properties, making them ideal for areas exposed to the elements. For concrete cracks, it's best to repair them first before applying any coating. You can use a concrete crack filler or sealant to fix the cracks. Once the cracks are repaired and the filler is cured, you can apply a polyurea coating over the surface for added protection and longevity. I hope this helps! If you have any more questions, feel free to ask.

The cost of James Hardie siding can indeed be influenced by factors like insulation and the complexity of the installation. While the initial investment might be higher, many homeowners find that the durability, low maintenance, and aesthetic appeal of James Hardie siding provide long-term value. Plus, the added insulation can improve energy efficiency, which might save on utility bills over time. Low-E glass ruined my entire home. It was bright and airy and now it’s a greenish cave. The green-gray cast gives me a headache and changed the color of the paint on the walls. Yet every single video I watch does not seem to mention this possibility. Window professionals should make it a point to inform customers that the natural light in their home may change so they can make informed decisions. This info was not in our brochures or discussions with our salesman. Pretty big thing to leave out. The whole industry seems to be glossing over it, but there are countless threads on the internet (Houzz, etc) that prove devastated homeowners are left in the dark (literally), while the window professionals collect $10K, $20K of our money and shrug it off. The industry needs to take RESPONSIBILITY and inform consumers.

    When a Home Foundation Inspection is done. Where should they place the Zip Level to take accurate measurements. Based on 2 Companies that have given me Estimates, they took the measurements at different places. The Front Door entrance measurements stated we need repair while the 2nd Company took measurements from about center of my home & stated no repair is needed. Who is giving me the correct information prior to replacing our Roof? Thank you

    • @TheHomeSolutionsChannel
      @TheHomeSolutionsChannel Před měsícem

      Thank you for your detailed question! The placement of the Zip Level during a home foundation inspection can indeed affect the results. Generally, a comprehensive inspection should include multiple measurement points throughout the house, not just at one specific location. Front Door Measurements: These are important as they can reveal issues with how your house is settling. If there's a significant drop or rise here, it could indicate foundation problems. Center of the Home Measurements: These can provide a more balanced view of the overall foundation health. If the center shows no issues, it might suggest that any problems are localized rather than systemic. The most accurate assessments typically come from using multiple points of reference to get a complete picture of the foundation's condition. It might be beneficial to consult with a third company for another opinion or ask for a detailed explanation from both companies on why their measurement points were chosen. Before making a major decision like replacing your roof, it's crucial to have a clear understanding of your foundation's health. Hope this helps, and best of luck with your home repairs!

    Kind of a lame video, kind of seems like a back door ad for polyurea. All the "some epoxies" disclaimers. Of course there is some truth to the video but a proper install with diamond abrasion and quality epoxy is a no brainer, Epoxy, of course, is a problematic coating is a problem outdoors. UV is an enemy of any epoxy. So outdoors is no good unless properly coated with a UV coating every so many years. I would argue almost nothing lasts in the sun, As for the heat from hot tires, not really a problem but, usually epoxy is final coated with a two part Urethane that is really, really tough when allowed to cure. Wait the days for the epoxy floor to cure!

You are absolutely right that a proper installation with diamond abrasion and quality epoxy can yield excellent results. Additionally, the use of a UV coating for outdoor applications and a final coat of two-part urethane can significantly enhance the durability and longevity of an epoxy floor. Our mention of polyurea was intended to provide viewers with an alternative option that addresses some of the specific issues associated with epoxy. However, we agree that both materials have their pros and cons, and the best choice often depends on the specific use case and installation process. Hello. If the garage is from a new build as we are the first owners and garage has no wear at all, Is the diamond grinding still necessary?

    • @TheHomeSolutionsChannel
      @TheHomeSolutionsChannel Před 3 měsíci

      Hey Taylor! Thanks for the question. For a new garage floor, diamond grinding is still essential. It ensures the coating adheres properly by creating a rough texture which enhances the bond between the coating and the concrete. Removing contaminants that can affect adhesion. And opening concrete pores, allowing the coating to penetrate and bond more effectively, which is essential for the durability and longevity of the coating. Skipping this step can lead to peeling or cracking.

      @TheHomeSolutionsChannel Před 3 měsíci

      James Hardie fiber cement siding is indeed used on sheds and barns sometimes, but it shouldn't rot when properly installed. Unlike wood, it's made from cement, sand, and cellulose fibers, making it resistant to moisture, pests, and rot. If you're noticing rot issues, it might be due to improper installation, maintenance or prolonged water exposure. For example, water pooling against the base or seeping into gaps can cause the siding to swell, deteriorate, or lead to mold growth. To ensure maximum durability, it's essential that the siding is properly installed with adequate sealing and maintained to keep it performing at its best. We're happy to help with any concerns to ensure your siding performs at its best. Thanks for bringing this up!
