    Thank you for getting the word out. After studying many videos from various recently released open sources media concerning The Capital Hill rioters from a wide variety of sources and I can say that while there were some especially violent protesters there at the Capital, there were many, many more peaceful protesters. Numerous peaceful protesters who got there late and did not fight with police were charged with crimes that should have been reserved for violent protesters and provocateurs. When charging the protesters, it should have been on a situational and contextual basis, not a plethora of charges thrown at them. Should the violent protesters and provocateurs be in jail, within reason yes. If they did some crime, they got to do some time. Does everyone who was at the Capital that day deserve jail or probation of course not, but yet many still are.

    The Waldenses started the reformation but the Protestant reformers did more Revelation 2:19 I know thy works, and charity, and service, and faith, and thy patience, and thy works; and the last to be more than the first. What does Jesus mean with that? Thy works, the last are to be more than the first. It’s 1260 years, twelve and a half centuries and there is a work that this church is doing over this long period of time having to deal with what He is revealing to them. As they are working, they are beginning the work. The Waldenses were beginning the work, and it spans right up to 1798 and He says the last is more than the first.

    Uniforms & weaponry great but somehow doesn't seem to resemble Jackson's flank-attack very much to me. I know things have to be done in certain ways at reenactments for reasons of safety, designated places to "fight", etc., but Jackson's attack was one of swift forward momentum with Union forces retreating, even running for their lives, with isolated pockets of federal resistance here & there. I suppose this could represent something like that but, truth be told, this could be a reenactment of any CW battle anywhere; in other words, generic. I've seen the ground on which the Jackson's flank-attack took place, around 6 pm on May 2, 1863, in lines 2-3 miles in width & many rows deep. I know that can't be duplicated, of course, so I'm not criticizing that. The terrain, as well, was far more wooded than seen here; also, far more wooded then the actual ground at site of the flank-attack at Chancellorsville today. Anyway, this reenactment is perfectly reflective of uniforms & weaponry but, with allowances made for modern requirements, this just isn't Jackson's flanking-attack at Chancellorsville.

    • @DiscerningHistory
      @DiscerningHistory Před měsícem

      You're right - due to limitations of the site and number of reenactors available, few approach a truly accurate recreation of the original battle.

    • @jackbuckley7816
      @jackbuckley7816 Před měsícem

      @@DiscerningHistory Thank you for your reply. I hope I didn't sound like I was criticizing the event, though it probably did. I suppose I only went on like I did because I have some real on-site familiarity with Jackson's attack there, so I guess maybe I was slightly disappointed in how it was portrayed. I couldn't see the difference between this reenactment & dozens of others! I realize, though, I was expecting too much. There's really no way Jackson's attack that day could be recreated in today's sprawling suburban & heavily commercialized world, or even a mere fraction of it, especially here in the car-obsessed U.S., as it covered many miles of landscape, involving thousands of brave lads. To be honest, the actual ground of the attack at the Chancellorsville military park itself doesn't seem to resemble the type of ground I've envisioned in reading about the attack either. I do believe it was far more wooded, though; of course, there had to be some clearings here & there. My only quip against these parks is that they tend to have a manicured look, with perfectly cut grass & wide vistas. I know some of this is deemed essential for public access, viewing--& understanding--what one's looking at, i.e., visualizing the battle, etc., all desirable, I guess, but sometimes feel it has the opposite effect, giving an inaccurate perception of the terrain at time of battle. Fortunately, I believe the Park Service has in recent years been attempting to restore many battlefields to their original appearance, or as close as is humanly possible. At some, like Cowpens, only a tiny patch of ground has been restored. I know these things cost money---ours'! Does anyone but me much care? Probably not! Anyway, thanks for the video. All reenactments are both great & desirable complements to our fast-fading history!
