I enjoy fixing washing machines and filming them for others to enjoy. Being based in New Zealand, some of the brands on this channel include Fisher & Paykel and Simpson machines, also my personally owned Whirlpool, Maytag, and Skacklock washers. Content is usually uploaded once a week, if not, every 5 days. Enjoy!
Wascomat Junior W75 - Warm Wash (full cycle)
I got to use another great brand of equipment during my vacation. It's a Wascomat Junior model W75 with the square door (W74 has round door). It shares some similarities with the Speed Queen Washer Extractors and their 2-speed mechanisms, but I believe these machines are older than that. Consequently, the older Wascomats are nearing the end of their lifespans, and this one slipped a little bit during the wash. Regardless, it completed the cycle in less than 30 minutes and the clothes turned out great! Awesome machines, and would definitely use them again!

Full Cycle - Speed Queen Commercial Washer on Ultra Cycle
zhlédnutí 474Před 21 hodinou
This is a newer Speed Queen Commercial Washer from my hotel. Unlike the Huebsch from last year, this machine is fully programmed with deep rinse and utilizes card payments instead of coins. The clothes came out very clean and the machine ran smoothly, apart from the noisy final drain. The detergent was Gain. Enjoy the video, and take care!
Washday #5 - Whirlpool and Shacklock cleaning Towels
zhlédnutí 358Před 28 dny
In today's washday video, I've got the Whirlpool and Shacklock washers cleaning 2 loads of towels. Both ran their complete cycles without any issues, and I was satisfied with the results. The detergent for this video was Tide pods, plus some additional scent boosters and white vinegar for the fabric softener. Enjoy!
1988 Shacklock ECS Gentle Annie - Colors on Heavy Duty
zhlédnutí 761Před měsícem
I washed another load of colors in the Shacklock ECS washer. The machine did a great job washing, although it needed some help during the final spin cycle. The detergent was Tide Pods (Spring Meadow).
Shacklock ECS Gentle Annie - Tablecloths on Medium Water Level
zhlédnutí 685Před měsícem
This is the Gentle Annie washing a load of three black tablecloths on the medium water level. With the heavy-duty cycle, the medium wash action is a little less than the high water level, but it's still plenty to move the load around. The end results were really good and the machine did well. Enjoy the video, and take care!
Maytag Washing Away Dirt From Curtains
zhlédnutí 701Před 2 měsíci
I ran a load of curtains in the Maytag Fabric-Matic, and I didn't even realize how much dirt was in them. Really incredible performance from my Maytag, and the curtains are now really clean and ready to be reused. Thanks for watching!
Craziest wash ever? - Shacklock Gentle Annie vs. Pillows
zhlédnutí 1,5KPřed 2 měsíci
My couch pillows developed several dirt stains over time, so I decided to solve that by using my Gentle Annie washer, along with a scoop of Vanish stain remover and a Tide pod. The cycle options I used were Heavy Duty, cold water, and fast spin. The fins on the agitator are quite big, so the wash cycle was interesting to look at. Enjoy the video, and take care!
Whirlpool DD washer - Colors Overloaded (ft. the ECS)
zhlédnutí 1,2KPřed 2 měsíci
In today's video, I decided to film the 96' Whirlpool tackling a huge load of colors. The machine did a great job pulling everything down, and although slow, the turnover was there for the duration of the cycle. The Shacklock washer was also washing a load of curtains for this video. Thank you for watching!
Samsung SW75USP - Super Clean Cycle
zhlédnutí 3,5KPřed 2 měsíci
Here's another load using the Samsung impeller washer. This time, instead of using the Fuzzy cycle, I chose to use the Super Clean cycle which works differently from the last cycle. By request, I also selected load sensing in the settings. This is the first normal load of colors in this machine, so enjoy! The detergent was Persil powder.
Samsung SW75USP - Fuzzy cycle
zhlédnutí 4KPřed 3 měsíci
I washed a load of button-up shirts and pants using the Samsung impeller washer. The load was quite stained, so I used the Vanish stain remover and the Persil pods to handle them. The lower water level also meant that the wash action was very vigorous. Enjoy the video, and take care!
Champion Project and Collection update

I recorded this on May 30, 2024. I've been inactive on my channel for a few weeks, so I decided to record an update video on my collection. Everything is going fine at my place, and I have not encountered any major issues with my machines. I am also making good progress with my Champion washer. Thanks for watching!

Spray Painting the Champion Washing Machine - Champion Project Part III
zhlédnutí 213Před 4 měsíci
I went to the shops and bought myself some sandpaper and a few cans of Rustoleum Appliance Epoxy. In these recordings, I worked to remove the rust from the cabinet pieces and the base plate, spray painting over them afterward to restore their shiny looks. I described my observations toward the end of the video, where I also included a gearbox update. Enjoy the video, and thanks for watching!

I’ve used these before! If memory serves they wash clothes…
I thought it did a great job with the laundry, and all in under 30 minutes which was nice!

Ok
Nice washer!
Detergent goes in first, before clothes for proper circulation.
Spinning Sounds awful
So, why don't you just work from under the machine with it on the side? I realise that you don't need to disassemble the machine to that extent. You're only after the bearing and so take the inner bowl off of course and for that you don't have to remove the top with the electronics- you just undo those two screws and pivot back the cover as it's designed to do that, hook it up and take the bowl out, then temporarily place the top back, secure it and lay the machine on it's side to work underneath? ((Yes remove those agitator inner bowl plastic splined parts that are for the floating bowl and it disconnects the locking for the bowl (agitate/ spin actions); for taking the shaft out, but not needed to do so if you're just cleaning the inner bowl, not doing a bearing.)) 😊
Although technically possible, I wouldn't recommend doing it that way. Taking the whole tub out allows more freedom of movement (standing up, laying on side, etc) and makes cleaning easier. Additionally, there's a decreased risk of cutting yourself on the edges of the cabinet. That said, I'll be more than willing to try this method when possible.
Normal sounding pulsating washer.
Towels n rugs 🚫🚫🚫. Acrylic lint on bathed body itch itch itch!
Detergent of any kind first into machine for 100% dilution.
My animal shelter I work at, has one of these. But with green LEDs and the card slot (it's bypassed btw, so you can just start it without anything, at anytime)
Nice clean machine, perfect wash.
i think it's so cool to see some america/usa washers in that part of the world, i love it
I'm glad I was able to find this machine here as well.
@@grnappliance7297 my first thought was a seller or a collector here in america/usa ship it to you and it went on mail boat
Bravo❤❤❤❤
Great video. I've seen a piece of brooker rod with washers slightly smaller in diameter than the bearings and a nut above each bearing, sometimes you may need additional washers depending on the inside diameter of the washers so the nuts are secured. Then only a matter of lining up the bearings in the housing and tightening both nuts progressively until the top and bottoms are seated correctly. A decent pin punch or brass drift is also great for knocking out the old seal and bearings
What is it with Americans washing lights and darks together? Denims and thin synthetics together? Do you like grey socks and torn shirts?
It's honestly not supposed to be that way with sorting, but sometimes it's easier to just throw everything in. I've become a better sorter since then, as I like to separate my loads by fabric type. I also sometimes take colors into account, especially if there is a risk of color bleeding.
Are you also able to get the 9 minutes of max speed spin involved?
Hi Grn, are you able to make another video of the Samsung washing machine on the Fuzzy cycle with weight sensing feature involved?
The last video I did of the Samsung featured the load sensing feature.
@@grnappliance7297 I know but are you able to do it on on Fuzzy?
@@shuaibgaliel366 I'll do it when it gets reinstalled.
@@grnappliance7297 Thank you
Surprised nobody mentions that this video looks so similar to this one czcams.com/video/pP6zELZCyVw/video.htmlsi=nGBD8b3WqExHk9LW
To me the wash performance of the gentle Annie outshines that of the direct drive. The direct drive sounds clunky and the clothes just moved downwards. On the gentle Annie, they washed from top to bottom back-and-forth, definitely more aggressive washing.
I managed to replace the motor in my Maytag MAT13, I didn't need to worry about the no adapter harness business as my motor harness was just a 1 piece and it only took me almost half an hour to do as i did the 2 belts as well, as one was frayed as! I have done some videos and will do one with the front panel off! Also my Maytag is dated to September 2004!
Nice work!
Both went pretty well
YES finally my two fave machines 😊
Overloaded??? That's probably why the belt is squeaking
Request: Daily Wash (default options)
Definitely one of the better impeller washers but nothing beats that ECS Shacklock you own. That thing is a monster.
The ECS is quite a unique washing machine for its huge agitator.
Such a great washer.
You should do it with a dual action that would look cooler😅
1:57 do you mean the one that you overloaded in that one video you have of it?
I like that full agitator stroke.
This washer has such a different sound from other machines.
It was the first of its kind, using a direct drive motor that LG uses to this day.
@@drsenseihugo The Direct Drive motor didn't go into production until 1991 with the Smartdirve machines. This washer has a brushless, direct current, variable speed motor and is the only Fisher & Paykel machine to have a belt drive. It took 5 years of development and spent 6 years on the market before being replaced by the Smartdrives in '91.
@@grnappliance7297 Oh wow that's cool. Thanks for the explanation. No wonder it sounded direct drive-ish, since it's brushless DC anyway.
I wonder how this machine detects out of balance load
There is a metal lever on the top right side of the machine. If there is an out-of-balance load, the basket has to hit the lever several times before the machine stops the spin and attempts rebalancing.
@@grnappliance7297 Ahh. It’s just like the old smartdrives
@@grnappliance7297 That's the good part, unlike these new machines you can wash slightly unbalanced items. I put a heavy coat (alone) in the GWL11 once and it banged a bit but managed to spin and spray rinse perfectly. For mildly unbalanced loads, F&P manages to fix itself in the spin
Bro, I just done this and every youtube video ive seen its all been easy peasy including yours. It took me hours to bash the old bearings out. It took me hours to put the top bearing in. The shaft was stuck on the tub and had to bash that out too lol. I dropped the stator and broke some of the plastic. It was really not a nice experience. Somehow I have a working washing machine again 😂
I had a Maytag in a house I bought. 22 years old and still going strong when we sold house 5 years later. If new house didn’t have a Maytag I would have took them. Basic and easy to fix myself. New house had a 1986 Maytag Dryer and a Maytag Neptune front washer. I loved the washer but it died within six months. Dryer lasted 5 years but was hard to repair. My friend took it, fixed it and gave it away. I bought a new Maytag set. Not the same but job gets done
The Maytags before the 2000s were made with a very reliable drive train (Originating from 1966). The washers afterward didn't have the same quality as the old platform, and Maytag was bought by Whirlpool in 2006 who killed off all their designs. I'm glad to have one of the older, dependable Maytags.

Did I just heard "One piece"? The one piece is real
5:12 the improved washer
gah damn its has the best turnover
Very nice wash action yet gentle on clothes. I wish I had this machine. You're using very high suds detergent here. Please change to a different brand.
I don't remember what detergent I used for this load, but I do shift brands quite frequently. Some of the detergents aren't intended for use in HE machines, but rather, for my vintage washers.
Thank You for this superb footage. I'm so glad you left the original sound intact. Never have I seen a more detailed demo of an agitator-styled washer quite this invigorating 👍🏾🦾👏🏾.
I'm happy you enjoyed the video!
1:37 I Also Got Some Tide At My Local Foodland Store At The End Of My Holiday In Rarotonga And I'm Heading Back To New Zealand Tonight So I Used To Only Have Liquid And Now I Have Pods And I Wonder If It Was Spring Meadow And What Other Flavors Of Tide There Are (Can You Please Explain) But The Only Thing I Still Need To Get Is Powder And Then I Will Be All Set. (Its The Same As The One In The Video) And I Got 1 Bag Of Them With 39 Pods
I belive i have a theory: this washer has the same functions as the fisher and paykel
The Gentle Annie was developed and produced by Fisher & Paykel, but it was sold under several different brand names including Fisher & Paykel, Shacklock, Kelvinator, and Frigidaire. Although this machine says Shacklock on the panel, it can be said that it is actually a Fisher & Paykel.
Very loud and the drain sound is terrifying
The motor in this machine is special because it's brushless, reversible, and variable speed. The drain pump operates on it's own motor, and it's of an older design so it sounds different.
@@grnappliance7297 dam it sounds like a siren head when it drains 😭💀
so the thing with this washer that i like is the cool name. i also love the performance
I was intrigued by the name as well. It washes really well!
@@grnappliance7297 i like the agitator. i also like your maytag

Another great video of The Gentle Annie, very quiet & smoothe on spin .
It’s not quiet at all 💀
Mum had one, a 4.5kg Esprit. Washed for a family of 8 for many years without a single issue. Why she didn't get a 7/8kg I'll never know 😂. I love how in less than an hour they washed, rinsed and spun so well.
