This CZcams channel provides access to vintage Sunderland AFC games.
I have always looked on the internet for vintage Sunderland AFC matches to watch. But I found them hard to find and not easy to access.
So, in early 2019 I created Sunderlandafc.tv
On Sunderlandafc.TV, you can watch videos of Sunderland matches from the 1900's to the early 2000’s - including some of the classic games from Roker Park. You can also see some of the star players of the past in action, and some of our greatest goals and moments.
The channel will only feature matches that are 20 years or older as it focusses on vintage Sunderland games. I have highlights from over 900 games from 1904 through to to the early 2000's.
Hopefully these matches and compilations bring back many memories and shows the great heritage of our club.
If you have any other vintage Sunderland AFC footage drop me an e-mail on hello@sunderlandafc.tv

I'm from israel, Eric was wandefool in 88, but I like luton town
as a united fan this was my very first ever visit to old trafford at the young age of 11. i was there on friday night v fulham for the season opener and many many times between and im always amazed how football has changed over the years
Great win, which maintained our 100% home league record so far in season 1998-99, with ten goals scored, and just one conceded. While as far as I recall, this win put us top of The First Division, a position we seldom relinquished in our record-breaking campaign of 1998-99.
I remember the game rather well, even though it's now almost forty years ago. 2-0 up after half an hour, we appeared to be coasting to victory and Second Division safety. The turning point appeared to be the missed penalty, had we scored, it would surely have been game over/our status secured. Sadly it wasn't to be, Barnsley came back for a 3-2 win, and with other results re the relegation issue going against us, it meant we took part in the newly-introduced Second/Third Division play-offs. And I don't think any of us will need reminding what happened then, suffice to say it was then the lowest point in our history ....
I was on the Fulwell. Devastated. Post Durban it all fell apart. We seemed to lurch from one crisis to another didn't we....
@@MitelSouthPacific I was sitting in the main stand, near the Roker End, so I had a grandstand view of both our goals, especially Frank Gray's screamer for our second. Though as you said, this defeat and our subsequent relegation at the end of the 86-87 season, seemed all part of a gradual decline. Thankfully the arrival of Denis Smith in the summer of 87 appeared to be the catalyst we needed to reverse our fortunes, and our recovery was rather dramatic. Div. 3 Champions in 1988, then a return to Div. 1 just two years hence. Had DS not taken over when he did, then who knows what might have happened to us, might our stay in Div. 3 have been longer?
John Dreyer won it for Bradford on 59 minutes.
Saya melihat pertandingan ini di TV ketika selesai acara Agustusan di Indonesia. Tahun dimana Kevin Phillips melejit karirnya.
The two lads in the Gallowgate who celebrate his goal !!! How hard are they? 😂
I love it. They just don't care. Brilliant.
Saddest I have ever been leaving the ground but if we had won we wouldn't have got Sir John Hall in and the Keegan years wouldn't have happened so thanks for that.
Your welcome, mate. Happy to beat you at St. James anytime. I'm glad it made you happy.
Proper football, no faffing around in your own box!
How come there’s nobody in the Roker?
The Roker End was under repair at the time. I agree with Andrews comments below - Roker Park was never quite the same after the Roker End was reduced in size.
@@SunderlandAFCTV Cheers. Got that after feeling a bit thick for asking!
@@SunderlandAFCTV I bet it was absolutely amazing when it was full with the old roker end.
1:24 : Why was there no defensive wall, leading to Portsmouth’s disallowed second goal? Makes no sense. 😮
I was there with me dad loved love Sunderland
First win at Derby since 1951? What the hell was he talking about???? The previous win at Derby was 1995, twice in '92!.
My favourite player of all times, ok he scored some great goals as shown, but his real game was the provider that made other players shine.
Life without passion is nothing
What a player!! My all-time favourite Sunderland player.
We had a good squad then ,Danny D and Darren Holloway to mention two
Very underrated and a very brave player ,wasn’t afraid to get stuck in👍
super peter and sir les
I think this was the proverbial game of two halves. We were all over United in the first period, and they were perhaps lucky only to be one goal in arrears at the break. But in the second half I think United's undoubted class eventually told, though I still think we gave a good account of ourselves, and on another day might have pulled off a famous win.
Is that why we signed Hawley?
Ball boy looks good😊
wonderful game.Gabiadini was an absolute star.
I recall this game quite well, a rather dull clash v fellow First Division strugglers Port Vale, in front of a crowd of about 12/13,000, and the 1-1 draw saw us slip into the bottom four. This was actually our ninth home league draw of the 1994-95 campaign, and as we won just five games at Roker that same season, it's perhaps little wonder we once again were involved in a relegation battle.
0:07 / 1:02 anyone available to send me the full game?
Back then the teams did not have money to flush away down the toilet, because he was Sunderland's main man and fan favorite, they obviously would have wanted more for him due to everything he represents. Nowadays, they would just throw so much money at the club, they would not even have room to considerate it, they would just say "OK" and Super Kev would be playing for the likes of Man City or Liverpool. Thats why he never got enough opportunities with England, 5-15 minutes at most at the end of each game for England with players who played for the top teams in Prem was not a good enough opportunity, they all had their own click, I remember watching England thinking pass the damn ball to him!
Happy days.
As a kid in the 60’s i watched him play for Leyton orient against my non league team Boston in the fa cup. We drew 1-1 and lost the replay. Vic halom was outstanding. I followed his career and considered him the best of his generation. A legend

Stan Cummings a skilful small winger with a big heart in Sunderland side.
It's so good to see this Colin Pascoe's highlight reel at Sunderland FC! 🎉😊
How did it go at Wembley smb
Brazil and McCoist now a great team on Talksport
Loved standing 😢
Respected King RIP
Sunderland’s first-ever win at The Manor Ground, thanks to Dennis Tueart’s spectacular early goal. And he’d score a similarly spectacular effort a couple of seasons later, in The League Cup Final at Wembley, ironically v Sunderland’s arch North East rivals Newcastle.
I must have watched this, well I've lost count of how many times! A great occasion for SAFC, helped of course by Gary Rowell's first-ever SAFC threesome.😁⚽⚽⚽
Sunderland legend
I was at that game and gabbiadini was brilliant. Rotherham got relegated and went onto win the division 4 title the next season losing only 8 matches 4 at home and 4 away. Hot shot bobby williamson. I work on the railway with colin douglas who's in the number 2 shirt for rotherham and he's a top lad. Up the miller's.
Fabulous goal from John Hawley.
You could have put our 2 goals on as well. I was at the game and it was freezing.
"Unseemly behaviour from a club with a proud tradition", er, of invading the pitch when loosing - Nottingham Forest 1974.
quality
Great to see this again after so many years. You have to wonder what might have happened if the NUFC fans hadn't invaded the pitch?
City legend.
And Sunderland legend. And New York Cosmos legend. What a player!
Last of the proper football. Sunderland packed one half of the Embankment. Great support. Team probably came on to ‘January’ by Pilot. Nearly 50 years ffs.
Safc in black and white top clapping as Gates scores.😊
The king is dead long live the memory of King Charlie!
Quite game, an eight-goal thriller, just a pity that five of those goals ended up in our net!
