2017 S550 Supercharged Mustang dyno test

Just wanted to check the tune on the Mustang, compare the X-Force Varex exhaust in different open positions for the KW/HP readings, and compare the KW/HP readings between different dynos. The car runs .8 bar(11.6 lb) boost, extractors, and a full X-Force exhaust including cats. Clinton at Profile Autosports knows his stuff and is reasonably priced and I think gives realistic dyno figures.

Awesome sound
So much fun overtaking them B doubles and even more fun going past the road trains between Dubbo and Broken Hill… I’ve done it in an XR8, SS ute and a Skoda Superb… out of those 3 the superb was the best because of the turbo, but I would give my left nut to do it in an XY, the sound alone would be worth giving my right nut also… Cheers for the vid mate, all the best 👍🏻
My Skoda 2.4 twin turbo does the same using 1/4 of the fuel that the big clunker used . Great in their day 50 odd years ago though .

This comment is for the 2022 video, I just went this far back to find comments open. You mentioned "the front tail shaft uni chewing on something..." "Chewing" is not an automotive term. The proper context would be: "the front tail shaft uni auto- clearancing something". Just sayin' Don't let the evil commenters get you down, there is a rag in every bag of towels, just ignore them. Many of us are true car guys who love your content and sometimes have something light-hearted or even technical to say and it seems a shame to silence us. I now have to binge watch more of your videos, as I am a 351C fan who has one in my much much heavier 2 door. It looks like shaving 1700 lbs off my ride could make it more fun. lol

A grand tourer for straight roads.
I do prefer modern Holdens over modern Fords, but the XY Falcon has to be one of the best looking cars I've seen in a while. I'm impressed as to how they got 382hp (it was stated to be 300 to please insurers) out of a carbureted 5.8L.
Seeing that yellow LJ in your rear view catch you at the corners was great. Such good competetive racing.

My '70 Torino 429 SCJ 'drag pack" car puts out 450 "ponies" and 480 pounds of torque.
Please exp[lain why a Boss 351 was far faster than a 429SCJ Mustang? I never found a 429SCJ to be as fast as a 428SCJ without extensive modifications.
@@edge2sword186 Pure Stock Boss 351 Mustang 1/4 mile was 13.9. Pure stock 429 SCJ Mustang 1/4 mile was 13.4. That being with both cars having 3:91 rear gears and 4 speed transmissions. I'd gladly put my stock 1970 Torino 429 SCJ up against your stock 428 SCJ anytime. BTW, 428 engine was not offered for 1970 Torino. I began racing, in the NHRA, back in the mid 60's. My last NHRA race was Memorial Day weekend, 2021. My de-stroked 427 '57 Ford Custom 2 dr sedan ran two 9.8's at NH Dragway in Epping NH. In the early 70's, I set three NHRA records with that car and won three class championships back then with it. With today's tires technology, it's a bit quicker now than it was back then.
@@sergeantmasson3669 The Boss 351 was close to a 12 second car right off the showroom floor and the 429 SCJ was not even close .I never raced a 429 SCJ that would even come close to mt 1969 Cobra . O had several 390,406,410,427 and 428's along with 429's even a Boss 302 and 361C.WE were some of the first people to thrash the 351C and really make it work. hat engine changes everything and the 429 did n0t until Jon Kaase changed the intake valve angle on his much improved heads.
@@edge2sword186 BULLCRAP ! Showroom stock (no mods) 1971 Boss 351 Mustang would run 13.9 in 1/4 mile at best. Usually, low to mid 14.s. I've raced my '69 pure stock Boss 302 Mustang against Boss 351 Mustangs several times, in the past, and beat them every time. I've also raced my '70 429 SCJ 4 speed drag-pack Torino against Boss 351 Mustangs a couple of times and won both times. Bone stock with drag radial tires, and 4:30 Detroit Locker rear gears, it runs low 12's consistently. Are you aware that the 429 SCJ engine is a totally different animal than the 429 TJ and 429 CJ engine?
