Bach Cello suite No. 3 BWV 1009 played on a Yamaha GC42. Solid Spruce top, Madagascar rosewood back and sides. This guitar has about 500 hours of play so it will need many many more hours to reach it maximum potential in terms of tonal quality.

Yamaha silent guitar review
zhlédnutí 24KPřed 4 lety
Just picked up a Yamaha SLG200NW silent guitar and love it. Great guitar for practice with an elaborate SRT electronics system that is functional and easy to use. The SLG200NW is a silent guitar with a classical neck shape with traditional 52mm spacing at the nut. This guitar can also function as a gig/live guitar. With the fact that it has no body, and its great pickup system, this guitar is n...

Very beautiful and calming!!
It's cOoL👣🔥🤙 Like 🔥👍
I already have spruce top does yamaha have Cedar top on high end guitars?
Yes they do in all models
Three years later, I wonder how they compare now... I preferred the 42 for its treble clarity and articulation.
決めた。買うわ。
Great review !!
sounds almost as good as your more expensive yamahas , ie the gc 32, 22
Great video, thank you for making it. This has been helpful.
What model of the guitar?
Yamaha lj16c!
My Yamaha classical guitar is a CG 40 A I got years ago new in 1996. They no longer make this one , it might be rare now.
You look like Heisenberg
A light weight throne should be made. One that folds with webbing. Thrones are insanely heavy
Very true my friend!
It's rare that someone's playing stops me in my tracks...so great.
Hey Mark, great playing! Did use an interface or microphone to pick up on the sounds of the guitar in this video?
Excellent

Nicely done sir!
I'm a bit perplexed because on Yamaha's website the GC42S/C are listed with a MSRP of over $7,000. On Guitar Center's website the instrument goes for $4,300.
Yamaha has a “MSRP” which is manufactures suggested retail price. Usually their instruments sell for approximately 35-40 percent less than the MSRP.
Thanks for the tip!
Love the Gretsch and Yamaha pack.😊
Good playing...guitar sounds fantastic...thanks for posting.
nvm bought it recently, it's made in China and everything is so flimsy, it already broke the tuning pegs, the bridge or whatsoever is called the white bone thing that rises the strings already fell off and I had to glue them back myself. Don't buy Yamaha guitars unless you're 100% guaranteed they're made in Japan.
Liar, mine is nine years old and still perfect.
Beautiful.
Nice piece. Yamahas always sound better to me than Cordobas
Thank you...for sharing this info.
Thanks for the comparison/review! The GC42 sounds almost fuller and deeper with more overtones. Do you know whether the soundboard bracing is identical or not on both of these models?
You can hear the treble in the LL-16D....if you're a singer songwriter don't get the LL-16 with rosewood....get the LL-16M....it's too hard to tame the treble in the LL-16...you need the mahogony version. Also I believe Yamaha's customer service now sucks....used to be the best. Not anymore. I have LL-16...I've tamed the treble somewhat with Elixir Polywebs for playing unplugged....you need a 10 band EQ to tame it plugged in.....the 16K slider will take out the glassy sound. The 8k slider does not take out enough....I use a fishman loud amp. Mine is a cannon.....if you're a bluegrass player it will be magnificent. It cuts through all the Martins like butter. I play a open jam where there are D-45's to D-18's and all martin's in between.....nothing can out do the LL-16...not even an 11k dollar D-45...my guitar has bass that's explosive....treble cuts like a knife through other guitars. It stands out through 10 other guitars. I play out by myself.....that's another issue.....most bars with hard floors and walls will make taming this beast really difficult.....use the 10 bad EQ...pull down the 16K slider and it will be workable....not the 8k slider. it's not enough.
It's my favorite sounding guitar for under $1000. I have small hands so now I'm sticking with crossovers and nylon electrics. My current guitar is a Cordoba Stage and it's very practical for me for a lot of reasons, but I prefer the sound of this little budget flamenco guitar
Its tones not genuine or not sound like spanish guitar. If you are serious flamenco guitarist, i dont prefer this guitar.
Que bonito suena esa guitarra
Hi! Are the necks easy to play on or do they feel fat to the hand?
GC42 haș more richness to the Sound, more airy, more note separation, more volume, the tone is more refined.
I use the low end Yamaha C315 and these things are only in my dream.
Got one too! I'm mad about it! 🖖🏻🇫🇷😎🇫🇷😎🇫🇷🖖🏻
Great guitar demonstration. I am trying to move to the next level in my guitar journey and get a performance level guitar. I am stuck between buying two guitars The Yamaha GC42 and the Ramirez "Guitarra del Tiempo". Which one do you think I should get?
I’m a Yamaha fanatic. That being said I’ve never played the Ramirez model so I’m not sure!
Thank you. Very helpful. Nice playing.
There are a lot of comparison videos where I'm hard pressed to hear the difference between the models they're comparing.....this is not one of those instances. Although both guitars sounded excellent....the GC42 sounded far better (in my own, subjective opinion, of course)....however the price differential between the two would allow me to overlook those differences...lol. So...I think the GC42 sounded better....but I would be far more likely to purchase the GC32.
For me it was the 32.....seemed to have more definition which highlighted an inherent musicality.
❤❤❤❤😊Great video! Very professional!
Two of them songs good I like the 42 👍
Yamaha flamenco guitar I have it's not good sounds I sold
Is the guitar tuned to A = 440 Hz?
432!
@@markkeatingmusic thanks for the answer! why do you prefer exactly 432?
It’s got to do with the Schumann waves. Check it out and give it a shot!
Thank you for your beautiful playing. Could I know which guitar string you used?
Thank you! Labella medium hard tension
Are strings carbon or nylon? Thanks for the answer.
Wonderful! Thanks for this comparison.
