Why on Earth did Tubbs grow a beard in season four? I preferred him clean shaven. That was a very powerful gunshot. Crockett didn't even have time to look surprised. That must have been a hard fall onto the train tracks. I love how Tubbs goes to check on Crockett and holds him until the helicopter arrives.

I just realized I spent the past 4 hours watching Miami Vice, Knight Rider, and A-Team clips on CZcams and I have to wake up in 3… DAMN YOU 80’s NOSTALGIA 🤬!

Showing up a bit late to the party, but I’ve researched the MV Ferraris, and here are some tidbits. Ferrari actually sued NBC and the producers of MV over their use of the replica Daytonas, of which there were two built for the show (more on the purely coincidental significance of that in a moment). The suit was settled when the producers agreed to destroy the replicas, one on camera (which, as noted in the video, was done in S3, E1 “When Irish Eyes Are Crying”). In exchange, Ferrari agreed to provide two Testarossas for use on the show (I don’t know about other TRs offered to MM & DJ, just the two used in actual filming). One of those Testarossas sold at Barrett-Jackson’s 2017 auction in Scottsdale, AZ, for $151,800. Now, back to the Daytona. Of the 121 365 GTS/4s (Spyders were designated as GTSs, berlinettas as GTBs), only two were painted in Nero (black) with a beige scuro interior. One of those has been sold at auction three times by RM Sothebys, most recently at their Monterey auction in 2023, where it fetched $2.865 million. FUN FACT: In researching the real black & tan’s Daytona’s history, RM Sotheby’s discovered that it had been impounded by the DEA in December, 1991 - a pretty cool case of life imitating art! (Of course, it’s possible, even likely, that the drug lord the car was confiscated from bought it because of the “Miami Vice” connection.)

I was 6 years old when this game came out. I first learned the words "power plant" through this game. In my mind, I was thinking they're growing special plants that give off power. That's when I had to learn about fossil fuels.

This is NOT the best scene from Miami Vice. That would be a tie between the final 5 minutes of Out Where The Buses Don't Run and final 5 minutes of Definitely Miami (both from Season 2). "And in my opinion, THIS is the defining / iconic use of the song... Not the pseudo-romantic fragment-poem bullshit they tried to pull off in the first episode" - You could not be more wrong than if you suggested the Testarossa was cooler than the Daytona. The scene in the pilot was a defining moment in television history. It signaled that a TV show, handled properly, could have the same style, atmosphere and visual language as a feature film. Police procedurals (and, in fact, all television) were suddenly catapulted into an era where the aesthetic became it's own character. That one scene transformed television forever. In fact, the sole reason In The Air Tonight was reused in A Bullet For Crockett was to recall its use in the pilot episode and set-up what's essentially a budget-saving clip-show (common at the time, but not really befitting Vice). In fact, In The Air Tonight doesn't actually work very well in the context of this scene.

Yea, I dont think so. Rehashing In the Air Tonight from the original pilot episode where the music isn't even in sync with the scene? Now THAT was 80s. I watched that show faithfully from day one, and there's at least 30 better examples than that one. No Exit, Smugglers Blues, Prodigal Son. Waay better moments.

Back then Miami was flooded with money from the drug trade, and financial systems down there were moving at 1 million miles an hour, it was a great time when any and all was possible. Getting loans in Miami being that the money was being laundered in banks was easy. Miami boomed. It as so prosperous and infamous Miami Vice to this day is the best police show ever, Sunny and Tubbs are probably the only police officer characters that are universally loved because they were so non-police, they were more like cowboys in the Wild West. When is the last time you saw cop who lived on his bat and drive a Ferrari? Never. You had a white guy and a black guy working together, in Miami during that time when there were no holes barred, everything was there and really going on to make the story really good. They used a lot of real stories. I've never seen a show that comes close to this one.
