CCCU (Broadstairs Campus) 2014 EOY exam Part 4 Oliver Smith
Four times I tried to build this detector. I followed the diagram to the exact detail, but just what like others who commented were saying, not a faintest sound was heard, unlike the claim that it will "roar" if you get it right. I checked the pinouts, the polarity, etc. and I can confidently say that I did it right, but nothing, no sound whatsoever. I can already say that this is a scam, except he will post a video showing how he did it step by step, complete with proper placement of components. No wonder this video is so short. What a waist of money, time, and energy.
Fake it's not metal sensor
This thing atually works very well! When i seen the circuit i was not very sure this could work. I did not recognice what kind of oscillator it uses, and no capcaitors in paralell with the coils, plus just 10 turns of wire to get down to 100 khz, i doubted about it, but made it on a breadboard, I skipped that last 2 transistors and used a crystal earpice instead. It works very well! Thanks allot. I will make this solid instead of the "breadboard" :). Btw i found allso a good model for the search coil you can print with a 3d printer. Thats what i did. Thanks again. Very nice work.
and to all others that got big expectations of how deep you can fin things, with a bfo detector. This bfo detector is about how far you can go in deep. It is a old style metal detector. If you want them more sensetive and go deeper, you probably need a vlf or pi metal detector.
allso i used 2n3904 transistors
This is what's happened to my Meriva recently and unsure whether to get it fixed or scrapped.
Mybe about time someone rescues the porrly treated animal and pushes that whore into the water .
@David Smith > how have you built the main circuit? can you upload a full tutorial on building the circuit/ciol please as i am trying to make my own metal detector and have made 4 different circuits all to epic fails :/ appreciated thanks :)
Nice bro
Hello, how much copper did you need to redo the pinpoint? And how much is the diameter of copper? Hello see you soon
Ciao, quanto rame ti è servito per rifare il pinpoint? E il diametro del rame?
do you still own the car or did you scrap it i used to have one and the head gasket went and that was 2005 plate
It was scrapped. Had previously burnt out exhaust valves on two times and I could not face a head job again. Also used a lot of oil. About a pint a week.
Excellent. But send making process by manually. Please send immediately. I am very interested to make it.
How to made It SIR.
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
What is the range of this detector?
Nice project sir. Commendable. But how about the circuit?
+davidsmith how many turns of copper wire did u put on the ferrite rod?
About 170 turns of .25 copper enameled wire. Make sure you scrape bare the ends of the wire

What would you like to know Wilfred
I want to know it's circuit, or how to build it from the scratch. I'm very interested in it

Hi Dave Smith, I build the BFO with the 15cm diameter coil, air test in a 1€ coin 15cm,thats normal for most BFOs, I think maybe is possible to build a square coil 1x1m , for large objects, how many turns of wire you recomend for this project?
on my website is info for large coil
@@DavidSmith-cz9zv yes, I saw information for a large 60X60cm, 5 turns of wire. You are Dave Smith the inventor of the X1 ? one of the most powerful metal detector , even better than PI detectors, the X1 can discriminate 80% of iron targets, and for coins it goes realy deep, however need one experienced operator ,tuning for the ground balance is very important in the VLF sistem.
Do you have a schematic of the circuit?
2 new rollers, new belt, new water pump and thermostat came to about £120. Did it in a day. Was very lucky. No need for any special tools.
nice

Voyager, that design you provided a link to uses an obsolete IC. The TDA0161 is obsolete.
I removed the covers and discovered the adjustment roller is worn out. I was lucky it never broke up. When I had the belt done at 80000 I don't think they changed the roller.

Great project I will build it!
OMG...that sound! brain damage!
is waterproof?
depends on what you put it in
waterproof is condom.
I want to build this pinpointer but I want to use it with only the vibrator and if the circuit can move a motor a little larger than 6 v.
Hi, what is the voltage to move the small motor?
David. I built it, but like others the sound is so low. I can adjust the tone with reference coil. I used BC 184B, and 182B and 183C transistors. Pins are ok. But the coils are maybe wrong? You said before: "Try to make two coils exactly the same about 15 cm dia. Move pieces of metal near to coils to get a sound." ???Turn 10, 15cm dia, 0,25mm wire???? or what size? You mean : two coils are made with same size, same turn, and each coils ends wired to search pin on board, or the first 15cm dia coil connected to search pins, and the other 15cm dia coil connected to reference coil pins? In any way, when these coils are ready, move metal piece around, to get sound. And If I get sound, what will I get?
make two coils. about 15 cm diam about ten turns connect to circuit board. If all is correct you should get whissle/buzz from the speaker. Use small headset if it is low volume.
Thank You David. Will try. Other problem is the sensitivity distance. Only 1-2 cm.
Please schematic
Hi, Nice tool. Do you still sell the boards? Does the number of wrappings around the pile make it more sensitive? Thanks!

Hello David, I have a question, how many laps you give copper wire on ferrite?
we're you going to tell us where to buy the board? I'd appreciate it muches
+Orange Wrench at the website that shown at the very beginning of the video , but I wont be buying one, with the price of the UK dollar and the price they are asking, better off buying a ready made from amazon. In my option .
@@patprop74 its true amazon and china soon to run the world
Where I can buy it and sent to Lima, Peru
like other at first i cant make it work but i therefore conclude that too much heat at the transistors could lose its gain so when soldiering them use a alligator clip to clip the three pins so the heat will be dissipitad by the alligator clip NOT BY THE TRANSISTORS 100% you will make it work trust me i know the frustration of making it to work, ASK ME AND I ANSWER YOUR QUESTIONS!!! -HOPE YOU LIKE IT
