I might take another pass at it later but my “Quick Lite Wing” from the last couple videos performs better at this point. Plans are available for that one. If I get time to dial this one in better then I’ll do a video and post those plans. Also have to make them. Glad you’re interested!

When I took that video I was trying out a 1550 2s Lipo to see what I’d get. Didn’t get more time than with my usual 3s 850mah because I had to use a higher throttle with the 2s. 3s was overpowered and 2s is barely enough. Maybe something like a 2s 2200mah would be a good balance?

I ended with a T-motor F2004 KV1700 with a 4” tri-blade HQ Prop.

RS2205 2300KV motor with a 6045 bi-blade prop.

Without knowing your familiarity with fixed wing generally (like flight simulator games) I'd suggest building an FT Mini Arrow to start with. The plans are free so you can build it with Dollar Tree foam board and not be too concerned about cost. Use the type of ESC and motor they recommend. I've never had a bad launch with mine that wasn't my fault. No stabilizer needed. For video I'd suggest the Zohd VC400 to start. It shows voltage in the OSD. Not great video but good enough for a starter. I'd also suggest practicing flying it line of sight. Quads fall out of the sky when they malfunction but planes can keep going. Being able to fly it home after a video failure is great. Hope that helps!

Yeah, I'm going for strength with a limited amount of material to hit the 250g weight. I'd be going a whole different route if I had a Cnc or hot wire cutting setup. Then I could use Xps foam or something like it that's much lighter.

Are you saying use Bluetooth out from the controller to your phone for telemetry? What would be the use case? Not sure Smart Port has that capability but never had the need to try it.

@@835FPV use full features like DJI with telemetry .... And we can locate if drone lost

@@technicalsupport6983 that’s outside the scope of what I’m covering here. You’d want a full flight controller with something like INav or Ardupilot to go that route.

Awesome! Yeah, you really just have to go for it and expect to fail a lot. I’ve gone through so much foam board trying different things. Many FliteTest planes have died by my hands before getting to this point lol But yeah, go for it!
