    It is such a simple procedure if you actually think about it. with the cylinders all the way down there’s virtually no space at the bottom of the cylinder for air to be trapped. You’re bleeding the air out of the pump unit and the hoses. blocking the jack up in the air doesn’t do any good. If you let the jack raise up, you’re just allowing air to go into the cylinder. Just bumped the up button a few times and purge the air out of the unit and the hoses through the bleed screw. it would’ve been nice if they would have put a bleeder instead of just a threaded screw. People seem to make it more complicated than it used to be.

    I'm having trouble with bleeding/setup. When I press the up button, the compressor tries, but the jack does not lift at all. Time to call support again.

  • @ronlebert4245
    @ronlebert4245 Před 24 dny

    Placing the QJ onto the blocks so it sits on a angle will help the air to escape with less restriction as compared to sitting flat on the floor. That's the way I bleed my QJ.

  • @styldsteel1
    @styldsteel1 Před 25 dny

    Honestly, the quick release connectors have always been a source of big headaches for me. I had my car stuck in the up position because i could not reconnect the quick release. The only way was to open the bleeder valve and get saturated with hydrologic fluid. I never disconnected those things again.

    • @HercDriver1666
      @HercDriver1666 Před 22 dny

      You need to bleed the pressure off and use the locks. You won’t be able to reconnect them with pressure in the lines. It discusses this in the manual.

    • @thebrassbandit
      @thebrassbandit Před 19 dny

      Someone didn't read the manual deep enough. You got them off easy because once you unlocked them, hydraulic force ejected them and they self-sealed. That same hydraulic force prevented you from hooking them back up. This is why you're supposed to lower it onto the locks before disconnecting the fittings; so that there's no hydraulic pressure in the system.

    I tried this and almost lost my 5V Blackwing. I stopped mid lift to double check my pad placement only to discover when the QJ tries to equalize the pressure between the two legs and 'self level' my front heavy Cadillac immediately began to nose dive. The rear QJ had locked into place because it was lifting at a different rate and the front didn't - so when I stopped lifting it started falling nose down in slow motion. I immediately tried to reengage the lift hoping to get the front to level out but that only made it rise further in it's current nose-down biased position making the situation worse. Further compounding my misery, because the QJ is lifting side to side instead of front to back, as it started to fall the car twisted left to right making a terrifying situation substantially worse. I managed to get the car back on the ground without damaging it but I definitely risked my life in the process. Anyway, this is video terrible, terrible, terrible, terrible, terrible advice if your car is heavy and it's weight balance is biased toward the front. You might try it with a small light car with a 50/50-ish weight distribution but anything else you're just asking for it. Personally I'm never trying this again. Also, hey Cadillac, why don't you put your lift points where normal jack placement can reach them? Jerks.

    Good video. Judging from the comments, QJ will help the customer with the manufacturing defects customers have experienced in the Jacks they received. They apparently still have problems with shipping, though. Most of the comments were old. I wonder if things have improved?

  • @Norm100ful
    @Norm100ful Před 2 měsíci

    To me, it would have been more impressive if they would have locked the load at the highest lift level and then disconnected the hydraulic hoses. This would simulate the most extreme test. My question is, how safe is the locking mechanism?

    Got the 5000TLX and used it this weekend. No runs, drips, or errors. I don't like jinky setup of having to run the hose under the jacks. I'm always nervous about crushing them when lowering the car and everything is moving. Other than that, it's pretty stout. If it holds up, it will be well worth the money.

    • @stealthman9203
      @stealthman9203 Před 4 měsíci

      I may have spoken too soon. I pulled this out to use it for the first time after the initial setup. I couldn't get one of the hoses to attach to the pump. I tried to bleed the shock a little bit, but didn't work. Took the cap off the reservoir, didn't work. Took the cap off the pump, that worked. After going back and reading the troubleshooting, I think it might have happened because I didn't hold the 'down' button for 5 seconds after I lower my car, the other day. I used it today and did hold it down when I got done. I guess I'll find out the next time I go to set this up and try to plug in the hoses.

    • @quickjackusa
      @quickjackusa Před 4 měsíci

      @stealthman9203 Před 4 měsíci

      Update: the next time I went to plug the lines into the jacks, they connected with only what I would expect to be normal resistance. So, that holding for 5 seconds after the lifts are down seems to work. I've used it a half dozen times since. If fact, my car has been in the air for the past week. I'm starting to wish that I had these for the past 30 years. Always screwing around with the floor jack and jack stands.

    I was a little disappointed with quick jacks one thing only. I have a mid engine car, so I take the wheels off to go all the way down. I wish you had a little bit like a worm gear like all thread going through a bolt that you could lift manually it from zero to, 6 inches or whatever it is where the hydraulics pick it up other than that they’re fantastic

  • @davidsinger7580
    @davidsinger7580 Před 6 měsíci

    The wall hangers are great but the 7000 TLX is still very heavy to lift up to get it on and off the hooks. I found a great trick to lift it up with a dolly so you can lift them the necessary few inches to get them on and off the hooks easily without any lifting required. Put the dolly under the bottom of the hanging Quickjack and just tilt it back a little and the Quickjack will go up the necessary few inches allowing you to get it on the dolly and wheel to the place you want to use it. When your done, just stand the Quickjack up on the dolly, front side up with the label facing the dolly, and wheel it back to the hook. Center it with the hook and push it against the wall while pulling back on the dolly and it will go up enough to slide it onto the hook. Works great and saves much of the effort required to move the Quickjack around. I'd do a UTube video but that's not my thing.
