i had the pc version of this game as a kid it was a lot of fun for me i remember the 2 things that gave me the most trouble were the first level as i didn't know you could combine items and finding the spine for dr louie (it did not look visible)

I played the game on my GameCube NONSTOP along with Battle for Bikini Bottom when I had my tonsils removed as a kid. I always had a connection with it, even if the blockage of progressing really bugged me because I just wanted to continue, and the time and ring challenges? Don't even get me started. The platforming levels though, I adored. Upgrading an ability was so rewarding. I unfortunately never finished this game, I only made it to Shell City, Dead Ahead and got stuck, and I don't even think I own it anymore, but both of those SpongeBob games were my happiness when I was in severe pain. The Gameboy version I still have paired with SpongeBob SuperSponge, but ugh I hate the password system. And for that I've never beaten that version, farthest I might have gotten was the third world if I was feeling it.

16:20 Oh dear god shell city. I hated this freaking level may it burn in hell. If Nordic decides to finally give us a remastered copy of this game, they better fix this level or we riot. I got lost so many times it's simply impossible to figure out where you are.

13:10 Personally, I like the wall jumping in both Battle for bikini bottom and this game(yes most of the controls play like battle for bikini bottom.) They are frustrating at points but its like second nature to me since its the same wall jumping they use in mario 64. Which yeah I also struggled with it in mario 64. Might be controversial but I hate that the rehydrated version of battle for bikini bottom made the wall jumping "easy." As it made one of my favorite levels, the flying dutchman level feel too easy and pretty much ruined any challenge the game designers intended as it was designed for these chunky N64 wall jumping controls. And the fact that there is no option to simply change it to PS2 style walljumping really made me go "why would I not just play the PS2 version on an emulator with the graphics turned to the maximum instead?" I get it though, its a kids game in 2018 or 19 not sure and not in early 2000's so we gotta make it baby mode with no option for hard. (Though adding check points to the final boss was a great choice that didn't lower the difficulty too much and just made the fight so much more enjoyable, best decision the designers made.) I pray someone makes a mod for the remaster so I can enjoy my modern graphics with my flying dutchman level the way I remember it for nostagia's sake.

I cant believe you didn't like the driving segments, or getting the tokens. Those were some of my favorite things to do in this game. They add so much replay value. Also, im surprised someone got stuck on the button thing in the level with all the big TVs. I thought it was always obvious. Lol I disagree _heavily_ with some of your points, but like Creature From the Krusty Krab, I absolutely adore this game. Its my second favorite SpongeBob game, and was the first SpongeBob game I ever played.

When I was a kid, I found a double pack of this and BFBB at Gamestop. I liked both just fine, but this one was weirdly my favorite of the two. I think I even got 100% of the extras at some point, but no way I got all the Goofy Goober Tokens. I couldn't get through the Manly Time Trial stages to save my life. Heck, maybe I should try to find this game for myself again sometime. See how it holds up almost two decades later.

I'm not gonna lie, the PC version of this game looks super fun and way better than the actual film in a lot of regards. XD

The variety of levels, the great music, the artstyle of the game, the eerie slighty unsettling atmosphere, the ethereal aesthetic, the secrets, even the art in the loading screens, I absolutely love this game. While there are some points I disagree with, thank you for giving this game some deserved attention.🔥

I actually had the PS2 version when I was a kid, and I was OBSESSED with it! Sadly, it was far too difficult and my parents had to help me complete a lot of levels. I never actually got to finish the game since my disk broke, and along with It, my heart. 💔

This is my absolutely favorite SpongeBob game (besides the PC version of Battle for Bikini Bottom). I first got it secondhand from Gamestop shortly after my 18th birthday back in 2013 for the Wii, and I wasted so many fun hours on it. I even got it for the ps2 months later as well. It's such a fun game and it's a shame hardly anyone talks about it, from what I've seen.

I played the PC version as a kid, though I remember it still being called "Creature From The Krusty Krab" rather than "Nighty Nightmare". A have nothing else to say.

This episode is clearly a loose adaptation of the Season 1 episode "Sleepy Time", especially the parts where Spongebob is driving and Plankton is basically a kaiju that can shoot lasers from his eyes and is destroying Bikini Bottom. Though this game does remind me a lot of the game Psychonauts, another platformer involving a character going through mindscapes.

To be fair the fruit stacking was already featured in Battle for Bikini Bottom which most people playing this had already played but still
