R/C glider aileron tricks
zhlédnutí 673Před 16 hodinami
This is some information I received from aeronautical engineer. At Hughes aircraft in the 1980s... all little tricks that really improved the way my Glider's flew.

HUGHES HILL! My dad flew there while he was working there. Classy old gliders you have there, too. And good tips for the aileron differential. Even though we can just program that in the radio these days, it helps to design it in by angling the servo horns. You get more resolution out of the servo if the physical geometry starts out closer to what you want it to be, rather than trying to do it all in the radio.
Thanks for sharing!!
Both good points. Aileron length shorter same as for spoilers and differential movement up and down governed by airfoil used.
I know this video is very old, but can anyone please tell me how to get to see my engine hour on this thing!! I bought a Sonex with it recently and I cannot figure it out!!!!
Und sie hat dem armen Jimmy das Herz gebrochen 💔, hätte er es lieber gelassen!!!!!! Sehr schmerzhaft!!!!
Good job
Hey is that ben smith on the drums
Sounds pretty darn amazing so I guess you got to rebuild it again
Thanks for showing this. I've got an Epi 339 I want to put a Bigsby on. The horseshoe is flat, correct, being made for flat body guitars? What hoops did you have to jump thru to get it mounted nicely? Is there a Vibramate for a 339 style?
Now I see you did use a bracket to mount it, I'm guessing a Vibramate, and the horseshoe is not actually touching the curved top. 👍
It must have been a crazy thing to do, driving such a soaring rocket 50 years ago... what an impressive machine. What a sound of an engine. Goosebumps!!!
I can only imagine how fast the Kansas City Chiefs guy Rasheed rice would be going if he had this car but I would also say not very long
How stupid to ruin this video with a music track, especially given the title of the video.
A symphony of cylinders…
I was 16 years old, living in Daytona Beach when Pedro Rodriguez drove the Gulf-Porsche 917 to victory in the 1971 24 Hours. After the race, the fans were allowed to come down to the pits and see the cars. Standing next to a 917 at idle is something I will never, ever forget. Your entire body vibrated to those 12 cylinders.
Dang.
I feel like that livery was stolen from somewhere...
I think we get the inspiration of new Bruce's batmobile😂 he have good taste.
Fantastic job. I don’t guess your going to sell your winch when you are done? Our glider club desperately needs a winch.
only people that need to swap engines out...awesome...
Jimmy knew how to spoil a lass ,,it’s true he wasn’t so bad going up n down alleys
The most beautiful sportscar in history.
I love seeing and hearing these classic race cars out on a track, they're no longer pushed to their limits but they are active and they are getting to amaze us all over again. Restoring classic cars and parking them in a museum is tragic. (BTW, I feel the same way about classic airplanes, they need to fly!)
Your songs ruined the video
I like the sound time delay.
Red Bull gives you wings
Road legal version about 500 hp, Leo Kinnunen drive 917 cabriolet 2xturbo version even 1500 hp. Three time expensive than same time F1 !
Jimmy 🤷🏻♂️ 🥖 💦 🤦🏼♀️ Steph!
The only ONe for me
PORCHE there is no substitute.
Pure sound ?? What do I hear in the background ?
Boss music
You brothers know how to have fun

Good film good band
917: best sounding car ever!
I would sell my soul for a 917.
Like music to my ears
My great aunt is cassie shovlin and lived in ardara co donegal all her life she was married but never had any children...all the shovlin's lived in ardara I have pictures and old vhs ❤and my grandmother was a shovlin before getting married and became a Mchugh
These cars were capable of what, 240 mph at LeMans 50+ years ago? Amazing piece of equipment I'd say. And, one of the most iconic and evocative race cars to ever roll on our planet. Simply awesome.
There are some cars that have a sublime sound, and then there's this.
There is also American engines, which beat all the German mofas:):)
Thanks soooo much!! 1:43 2:02
Impressive outstanding
..ehhhh....I drove one every day...... WHEN I WAS 5 & it was 1.5" long! Wow, some people are born lucky!
GREAT video, Mike...more pls.
Nose high coming out!
do you have to drain the fuel from the wing tanks before folding like in the kitfox? 15 minutes to unfold, how long to fold them?
