that is idol realm.. leaning towards personal focus, in fact it's kind of similiar to the "rockstar" phenomenon there are a lot of bad excess to that kind of culture (bad influence, fandom etc.), but I think BM done a very good job navigating through that environment and of course it has to stand on a solid, good, beautiful, bad ass, fun, energetic, music, at least for me to got on board since 2014

Also, 'Gimmie Chocolate' was recorded in 2014. Su was 17 and Yui and Moa were 15, so of course they had childlike voices. They were kids! Mental midget.

You haven't seen their live shows, at least half of their time is normally connected to crowd interaction, I think this was provably one if the biggesr parts thar ymomo had to learn from her. Crowd interaction how do I take control of a snall group in the audience, check their performance and improve their abilities. They are one if the biggest reasons for their huge effect, they nerge the audience to a cohesive unit that operates on commabd and independantly by itself. But this is sonething that you can only guess on some fancams from smaller venues. They often enough drop out of their choreo. In the beginning itvwas simply a memory of their idol times but they are now masters of their craft their teachers never expected.. They started as Idols but in this environment they learbed extremly fast. Koba was shocked when he learned that they would necer have a lack of monitor techs. They kacked some theoretical knowledge in the vegonning but shevhad her ways to get the knoledgevthat she needed

Great reaction, thanks! This was Momometal's first song at her new job as a full-fledged member after being a backup dancer for almost four years at the time it was filmed in April 2023. Can you imagine how cool is that? It doesn't get better! Well, it does, but you know what I mean. 😁 Yes, they are incredibly captivating, specially when you are there seeing them live in the venue. Their crowd interaction is insane although you can't see it here since it was more a theatrical intro to their show. I got interested mainly because of the music, stayed because of Su-metal's vocals and became a die-hard fan because all of them are incredible professionals. And finally, yes they started very young when they were placed in a school-themed J-pop idol group. Kobametal was one of the producers and he decided to make his crazy idea real while their agency wasn't very... amused 🤣 (so to speak) and they didn't get any extra budget. It was a long shot and this could have had consequences especially for his credibility. But with great effort (performing in small venues and even in shopping malls) they eventually succeed. 🤘🦊

Great reaction. 'Metal Kingdom' is the opening track and intro for the album 'The Other One' they released last March. They used it for the epic, theatrical opening to their 'BABYMETAL Returns' concerts in January last year (their first live concerts in nearly 2 years), but one of the thrones was empty, Su and Moa appeared in theirs, they had not yet revealed a new third member. This video was from their next big concerts just after the album release, at the 'BABYMETAL Begins' concerts on 1st and 2nd April at the PIA Arena. It was the opening number for the second night (Clear Night). This song heralded the start of the new era of the "new" BABYMETAL ... the thrones came up and this time all 3 were occupied. At the end of the first night Momometal had finally been revealed as the third official member, Clear Night was her first concert as an official member. You are right, there is something entirely captivating about them when they are on stage, you can't take your eyes off them ... when you see them in person it is almost a physical thing, they have such a presence, you can't look away they just command your attention.

Great reaction! Yes, their live performances are outstanding in every way! The craftsmanship of their musicians is always top notch, regardless if you watch performances of their early years or recent performances. Stage production is on another level, at least at their shows in Japan. Our Queens though are the vital part of it all. Without them, it would be "just some good, but ordinary, metal music". The contrast they make with their "poppy" singing style AND their appearance (costumes, choreo, look) is the "spice" of the whole thing, the "kawaii metal" thing. Most notably it is Queen Su-Metal´s voice, which makes it so intriguing. Her tone is quite unusual, cutting through the heavy music, and she is able to find the right singing style for any song, every single time. With "Metal Kingdom" she sounds simply EPIC, as the song is meant to be epic. She is able to transport emotions by her voice, as you will hear with every BM song you listen to. I believe she is a genius. Together with the choreo the whole performance sucks you right into the "moment", even if it is just a video. Most people say that, even more so if there´s some cuts into the crowd, which is the final part of a BABYMETAL performance as a whole. They (Su-Metal, Moametal and Momometal) call us, their backing band and themselves "The One". We (the crowds) are an integral part of their performances. And you can feel this, even by just watching a video of a live performance 😉 That feeling is even more intense if you actually see them live, and they don´t necessarily need their monster stage production to achieve this. They tour the US in November, maybe they go to Canada, too.

Their creativity and willingness to try out every genre makes me really excited for whatever is coming next. They always keep us on our toes and outdo themselves every time.

Gods is like a little heavy treat. I feel like putting this song on Sundowning was a bit of a flex to give everyone a taste or tease but not an entire meal. That they don't always go this hard gives them more depth, but overall, it's not the sound that I go to them for. If I want something to kick me in the nuts throughout I'll go elsewhere for that fix.

The MC was long but important for him and the fans. I cannot 100% accurately translate so take the below with a grain of salt. He says they have released Skindeep just recently but there is one more unreleased song he wants us to hear. The past year Dexcore did not release a lot of songs and it was also due to him not being all too well mentally. There were a lot of insecurities about the future and how to move on and he kind of got caught up in all the overthinking. There were times when body couldn’t move and when he went to sleep he was wondering if he was waking up again. This song has been written in the middle of this heavy mindset. There have a lot of bands around him that disbanded and there was also someone famous who died from self harm. So he heard about a lot of negative things around him which made an impact. At times like this it’s easy to succumb to negative thoughts but he then realized he’s actually happy. He thinks it’s important to keep going. “As long as you’re alive you can start over, as long as you’re alive you can change something, as long as you’re alive you can do anything!” While thinking this he wrote Still Alive because he thinks it’s important to keep going, which he he saying now full of confidence to us. While hanging in there they were able to organize the Dexfest with all the amazing bands which came there and even sold out the event. Therefore if there is something we really really want in life he encourages us to pursue it wholeheartedly. “Whatever you do, don’t give up, don’t die, don’t disappear! Let’s do our best together” Now they are playing the new song which expresses that you can do anything if you “stay alive”. He wants to to complete the song with the help of the audience and therefore ask everyone for their support. He asks to turn on the phone lights and to stop recording just for this song. And then to sing after him. “Let me hear your voices, you guys are alive!” A lot of people cried that that day, me included. It was really special and they haven’t played the song live since then. And just for context, the Dexfest was their self organized festival in Nagoya, they did it for the first time last year. A lot of Japanese bands organize their own events in the past years and invite local bands to play and even some more foreign acts lately. A lot of the local acts have a pretty good relationship with each other and often play in similar events or invite each other when they are organizing shows themselves so also the fans are overlapping a lot. Often you see Dexcore, Jiluka, Deviloof, Prompts and Sable Hills together in similar events for example. It’s always a great time.

It is 5 years old. It was always one of their softer Songs, so Su had severe doubts if this wss metal. But as I always said if peoplevwant Babymetal, they don't really want Metal and if she would want Classic in her Portfolio we would all Listen to her classic pieces. She defines what she likes and we follow. And duebto all these collabs it is sensiblebto showvthem that Babymetal is quite diverse. But I hope their current Tour won't continue, to long, after she confirmed that she collects plush toys, she need an additional plane for her toys.

Yes Tim and Scott's instrumentals are a driving force here but for me it is Suzuka's stunning vocal performance and Moa and Momo's beautiful backing vocals that seal it. Good reaction. The song is almost 5 years old. It was on BABYMETAL's Metal Galaxy album released in 2019. It is certainly one of BABYMETAL's more 'chill' songs ... but they do everything. That's one reason their collaborations all work so well as they are so versatile they can do pretty much whatever style and match up with whoever they are collaborating with. Polyphia are a mainly instrumental Prog Rock band and the BABYMETAL team wrote this song to suit their style and the guitar tracks Tim and Scott had recorded for them. When Polyphia was confirmed on the bill for Fox_Fest (arranged, hosted and headlined by BABYMETAL in Tokyo) we all had a good idea of what would happen. Tim Henson and Scott le Page (yes they are both from Polyphia) provided and recorded the guitar track for the original recording of the song. Fox_Fest was the first chance they all had to meet up and to finally do this very first live performance with them all together. BABYMETAL have pinned the lyrics in the comments under the official video - and yes it has a very positive and uplifting meaning, as you thought.

Vessel is great at switching up his vocals to suit the tracks, and even using it as a sort of instrument in the background. And yeah definitely worth watching the Drumeo offerings!
