BR 'Standard 4MT' No.76079 continues its climb of Copy Pit with the 'Cotton Mill Express'. This is Part 2, restarting after a blow-up and boiler top-up. The fire was also heavily clinkered and was cleaned.

She starts with one or two cylinders,later,More cylinders working,But this issue Is because compression level Is not correct.Check rings,AND compression level un all the cylinders .Values aprox 350....400 lib/(inch),^2.

What that particular among the many models that turned out to be crappy?
It’s the English Electric engine 16cylinder 4 stroke 4 turbo not a Sulzer engine. I think their could be cylinder liner wear on this one because it’s taking some cranking to start. They can start a lot better than this even in the cold.

just shut up moaning about the environment, and the engine isnt broken anyway thats just what they do when they are cold
I want that for my daily commuter. The grumpy giant sound makes well worth rising 2 hours earlier every day to make for cold start.
It need needs 500 lires of quadruple strength Esspresso and it will be perfectly fine. I see fire it definitely needed that caffeine!
That's exactly the sound I used to hear at the small local station near Blackpool called Layton station, when these things start sing their song you Never forget, it was great I loved it. 😊😃👉😲😎

100 baby seals had to die for this engine to start up.
Those old Napier engines had bags of power but they tended to over inject so sometime you would get flames out of the exhaust

Either insufficient compression, not enough advance in injection timing, or, it needs glow plugs. Once warmed up, I'll bet it runs smooth as silk, and burns perfectly clean. This is undoubtedly a cold start. I have to admit, I do like the sound!
Can't rev it up till the oil warms a bit.
