Here's a hit single from my latest pop masterpiece, the 5-part series of short albums, "PARA-TIME SHIFTS". It features Carl Sagan explaining the fourth dimension. Edited from a video segment featured right here on CZcams. Music was made by me, and include samples of alleged radio communications from extraterrestrials.

Recorded in early 2014. // Please listen to with headphones or at least a good set of stereo speakers (car listening works well), otherwise this track doesn't sound right. // Listening with Mary Jane was also recommended by someone. // Samples included excerpts of classical music.

Interview excerpt from Sean Booth of Autechre, from around this time: "Originally a lot of the tracks were made in real time and recorded with old Roland gear, drum machine and synths and we would play it live when we were writing the tracks. When we got asked to play live we thought, 'Fucking hell that's a bit of a gamble, but let's try and do that same process live as well and see what happen...

"Autechre toured considerably after OVERSTEPS was released in 2010, and the music they performed was markedly different from the record itself ('it was such a mental type of music we were playing compared to the album')." (from factmag.com article on Autechre)

love the hysterical laughing throughout
(translation) After a few Autechre style changes on Oversteps engages on a way the tracks are much shorter, with perhaps less internal consistency but much simpler rhythms and a more retro rendering than before. The synths are melodic again, a little ambient slipped into the whole so that in the end here the emphasis is more on the instruments and the textures than on the rhythm, which gives the whole a a totally different feeling from what Autechre had presented to us. In Quaristice, the previous album these changes were already present but the main difference between these two albums and Oversteps is simply mastered and at the level of genius of the group. If Quaristice was a reworking of old ideas. Oversteps bids farewell to works and style that may have preceded in the band's career and seriously moves on to something else. As if Quaristice was a sign, a transition album and the announcement of a group update. Oversteps really shows more Sean and Rob differently, two artists who take the music that influenced them and that they like to cut it, play with it and confront it. Whether you know the group and its work before 2015 or you discover purely Autechre: leave all your prerogatives behind you and enjoy. two artists who take the music that has influenced them and that they like to cut it, play with it and confront it.
