    I had a 2012 Cruze with the same 1.4 litre engine. The vehicle I plan on doing the coolant change on is a 2019 Encore. The Cruze and I’m pretty sure the Encore have a bleeder screw on the top corner of the radiator. It’s a plastic plug with a Phillips style as well as a 10??? Mm bolt style head. Before filling the coolant tank unscrew that bleeder plug, not until it falls out but maybe 4 or 5 turns. Once the coolant tops off 5he rad the bleeder will spew out a dribble of coolant ( have your pan ready to catch the dribbles. You should also see a few bubble like dribbles. Once this happens you can screw the plug back in carefully, it’s plastic don’t over tighten its plastic. One of the Encore, Tran, Cruze and Sonic 1.4 litres common issues is coolant leaks etc. changing the coolant more often than the 150,000 or 5 year thing is a good idea less so if you only put 25-30,000 miles on in that time but once again good insurance to do it more often. The best purchase you can make for doing coolant changes yourself is a “ coolant change kit “ which is a fairly big see through funnel that comes with several caps and plugs to fit into almost any coolant system. That funnel also has a tee handle plug that you can plug 5he inside of the funnel when the coolant system is full and pull off the funnel put it onto the coolant jug and pour the extra coolant back into the jug. The other feature is you can easily monitor the coolant both to make sure the reservoir doesn’t run dry and most importantly to see th3 air bubbling out. Once 5he blurb blurb bubbles stop you know the air is bled out but squeezing the top radiator hose a few times is also a good idea ( use a fairly heavy rag as the hose will be very hot after a while. The best part is that coolant fill kit only costs around $20. p.s. measure how much fluid you take out and have that same amount, maybe a bit more ready to go while filling. Never hurts to monitor the coolant level a fe2 times over the next week or two.

    There is a groove just inside the bore on the bracket. The rubber bushing (the bellows-like part) has a ridge which must go into that groove to complete the seal. To install the pin and bushing correctly the bushing must be installed in the bracket first, then the pin will lock it in place when it is inserted through the bushing. If not done correctly the repair will probably seize when water enters and causes corrosion. When you do it this way, be sure there is sufficient lubricant in the bore, because the bushing will wipe most of the lubricant off the shaft of the pin as it is installed. Be sure to use brake grease because it is compounded to work in the temperate range brakes will endure, from below freezing to many hundreds of degrees.

    • @drive-chriscapredoni

In the search box type in blend door and it will give you the actuator and a few other options. Click on it and it will provide the price, which is not much, and you can click on the photo on the right to see what it looks like. You are interested in the look from the back side (has a round area dominating it) The back side is what you are going to see when you removed the lower plastic panel under the steering wheel and look up towards the center console. Use a flash light to look for this component. Probably held in place with 2 maybe three screws. The plastic panel need to be carefully removed by removing several plastic clips and I think some torx-bit screws. Be very careful and patient removing this lower panel so you do not have to replace it. GM will charge alot. Please try and locate it. @@isnthatrd You do not need a new ignition lock cylinder. Just have a new key cut to match the original.

      Look on the internet for European car tunes and ask if they work on BMWs. If you cannot find anyone local, a BMW dealership should be able to assist you. Speak directly with the service department.

    WOW, didn't even clean up the face of the hub before fitting the new disc. Also you are supposed to remove the coating on the disc as this will contaminate the new pads when fitted.

    I use a short rubber fuel line to attach to the top of the spark plug for reinstallation.......the feel allows for you to detect cross threading issues whereas the metal tool doesn't give you that assurance to detect as you reinstall. Also anti-seize to apply to the spark plug threads. I believe there is a torque spec for spark plug tightening. Spark plug gap should be inspected for the new ones as a verification they are correct.

      Thanks for you comments. I use a ratchet extension instead of a rigged up hose. Anti seize is not a good idea in this case as it changes the torque spec. The new plugs were pre gapped but yes that should be checked on some plugs

    I believe that you should not grease the bottom of the sliding pin.

      I respectfully disagree. Silicone brake grease is necessary to maintain functionality.

    I appreciate the video but what does it teach ? 6 min long video and about replacing belt but you don't show how to remove or replace the belt except for maybe a 20 second flash of you pulling on the tensioner.. . again thanks but I have no more info on how to do this then I did before watching the video

    • @drive-chriscapredoni
      @drive-chriscapredoni Před 2 měsíci

      The difficulty in replacing the X5 belt is not relieving the tension or slipping off the belt and slipping on the new one. It is being able to access it. The focus was on how to access it by removing the rad fan so you have access to the tensioner and belt. Sorry you missed the intent. Most people don't need to see a belt being slipped off and use the video to learn how to create access.
