"Just another Beatle Fan Channel" you're thinking I s'ppose ?... Well yes. But with a new approach.
Away from the usual clichés on the Beatles everyone goes through all the time everywhere, away from the mandatory topics attached to the Beatles, away from the conventional esthetics most Beatles channels have... I want this channel to have a different look as well as a different outlook and take on the band once called "The Beatles". Looking through a new prism, it will use other means and elements to go through usually overlooked subjects in their history, usually neglected characters or ignored notions in their narrative, it will present unusual views or non politically-correct angles... Well you see the spirit.
Because what tends to be obvious these days when you go through all the Beatles related channels across CZcams, is the monotonous conception and predictability of most videos really, no offense. The Beatles and especially John Lennon always stood for "non-conventional".

Basically, in most cases you do end up either with some slightly sad, slightly lost, slightly lonely chubby boomer going through their "vinyl collection" like they were talking to themselves out loud really... Or you might come across some trendy 25-year-old New Jersey hipster, often nice but also often corrupted by product endorsements, telling all about various existing Brazilian vinyl pressings of "Abbey Road"...
Not to mention the unavoidable channels of "tribute-bands/ look-alike tribute-bands", complete with wigs and Sgt. Pepper outfits, delivering cringy renditions of "This Boy" on cheap out-of-tune guitars before extatic devotees holding out smartphones, somewhere in a Liverpool "Beatle museum" of some sort or in some "Beatles convention" upstate Arizona, USA...
Call me ugly but, remembering John's clear sarcastic and iconoclast tendencies and views on all myths including the Beatles' myth and his loathing of silly stereotypes, I can't help envisioning what the personal John Lennon's take would have been on Beatles "tribute-bands" had he lived !... But that's another story.
My point being : the Beatles always stood for staying away from conventions, away from any "group mentality" and away from any flock of sheeps.
One must NOT forget that before becoming themselves The Establishment in many ways, The Beatles and especially John Lennon always stood for "Political Incorrectness", always stood for "non-conventional", always spoke for all the underdogs and always proposed new paths to their audience. The Beatles were always in themselves a world apart from all the rest.
Some might say it seems today they have become The Rest.
The Beatles were the very opposite of a corporate company and the very opposite of a "formula-type band". And they spoke a language which was the very opposite of a Corporate Language.
It was a language of truth, and most of all, one of sincerity.
The instinctive language of sincerity. And I believe we must remember this.
... However big Paul and Ringo will always remain in my heart and however vast my gratitude will always be towards their talent and genius, I can't help but feel a bit depressed when I realise that all that's left of my sweet beloved Beatles today is an empty and purely commercial Macca acting like he's on automatic pilot, telling the exact same three Beatle anedotes litterally everywhere he goes, and one freshly died-haired lost Ringo going "peace and love peace and love peace and love" whenever asked about anything, like some ludicrous robot with a bug he can't shake off... I mean, really ?...
I personally think the Beatles deserve better than that... But let's say I'm just a nasty idealist.
Like John was.

Was probably stoned. But so what
Man this woman never finishes a sentence!
ohhh Yoko seems like such a good woman, and she's gotten so much grief. God bless her
what a man
Speaking too much truth there for this system which incidentally is still here and worse than ever
Stop using that AI PHOTO... Lennon couldn't smile in 1980, his nose would have fallen off 😂
damn,he was so skinny in the latter years its scary
Same clueless lefties then as now. Honestly, what t f do 20-year-olds know about anything? So what we have here is a bunch clueless students interviewing a clueless rockstar. 'Cos let's face it, Lennon was a very talented musician and song writer, but far from the sharpest tool in the box when it came to other matters. And Yoko Ono... Give me a f*cking break!
memories of holidays along the beach : I can hear seagulls . Souvenirs de mes dernières vacances à la plage : le cri des mouettes
Why am I listening to Yoko over talking John? Go away, interloper!
Amen. Make me cry😢😢😢😢❤
Laurie Kaye, one of the interviewers, said she feels guilty because they all saw the guy after the interview. Nobody thought he would hurt John.
Is this YOU? If all you are is what you imagine John Lennon was, I pray you are as young as possible. If you are as old as 18 or 20, it may be too late. Alas, it's probably too late for all of us. Failing IS an option.
*??... May we know what you are talking about ??... And whom you're talking to ?...*
I had to start an Stop this John Lennon Oko Real Raw Storyline's. Sean Ono Julian Lennon... A Personal Thanks To Shi Heng Yi..JAPAN. HUEL. IT IS IN OUR HEART
*What the fuck are you TALKING ABOUT ???????... Can you please leave coherent comments that people can actually UNDERSTAND ??????... Or don't leave anything, please. Thank you.*
I had just graduated from college and watched Monday Night Football when Howard announced that he had been shot and was dead. I couldn't believe it. How could this happen when he was just releasing his best work in years. It drove home that life is precious, but life is not your own. You can lose it or have it taken from you in a moment.
This creepy voice of Ono ruins the interview in the first minute. If only this guy stayed in the UK where he belonged.
So very much was killed with those five bullets. So hard to hear this and to know he didn't live to see the next day. Jesus.
You can't convince me that Lennon's assassination was not connected to Reagan being elected just a month before. Lennon would have said things that the Repugnants wouldn't approve. Lennon was a thorn in Nixon's side and the CIA made sure it wouldn't happen again.
yoko , to this day, is an escapee from a mental institution
Saddest event in history so hard to understand why it happened
I love this interview but it’s so painful
Well I always liked Yoko, figured if John Lennon loved her she must be incredible, that's just me...❤
Thank you so much !!
@@user-sd6uh3mx6l you're very welcome it's my pleasure (◍•ᴗ•◍)❤
Your introdroductory description is spot on! Your outlook is so refreshing! Good luck to you!
*Thank you so much !*
I couldn't listen to more than five minutes of Yoko just droning on and on like she's so important. What in the world did John ever see in her? 🙄
Wish the Yoko parts had been edited out
While explaining his meaning and intention behind "Power To The People", at the 1:57:50 mark, John describes the German people as being "hypnotized by Hitler". I can only "imagine" that John would have described the tRump cult today in the same exact way.
Well now...I had to skip through again and again because it seems that the first 30 minutes or so is only the Japanese harpy blah-ing on and on. No, I don't accuse her of breaking up the Beatles, I just do not like her at all. She is a talentless succubus. Who has been leeching off of Lennon since she met him.
1:31:04 😔 1:35:56 🤧
Indescribably sad and infuriating, no matter how much time passes.
Thanks for posting this wonderful deep, touching, funny, serious, insightful, great, unique interview - made my day and it gave me a lot of new ideas and hope! What a tragedy that the world could not get more of John Lennon in the years to come...
Why’d they always interview Yoko as though she added anything of substance, she didn’t.
She was he’s muse
So Sad....You can really hear John coming into maturity. It seemed like he really was about to take off as a more complete person. He was robbed of so much of his best years. I have mixed feeling about Yoko. I think she really loved him. But, her treatment of Julian Lennon after Johns death was just deplorable. And, it is nice that John spent so much of the 70s as Yokos cheerleader with her artistic offerings. But, I just dont see the talent or anything she did as an artist being worthwhile or ahead of her time. John mentions the B52s as being influenced by Yokos agonizing screeching. The B52s had a heavy sort of funk and dance beat mixed with a bit of new wave punk influence. I am not hearing Yoko influence anywhere. But, then John was always a great salesman for Yokos tone deaf squeeling.
Maybe John was to honest for this world?
I'm so glad John got to spend time with Sean. They have a deep connection. It is not over. They will be together again.
I met John Lennon in New York, at what turned out to be his favorite cafe, the Cafe Fortuna. There was no room inside so I was offered the patio and was seated in the corner with two couples on either side. I’m a cartoonist and was on deadline, somewhat in a hurry. The guy next to me was smoking and the smoke wafted past me every few seconds. To make matters worse, I could sense him looking at what I was doing…cartooning. Suddenly, I was in a cloud of his smoke and I turned to him …irritated. He had dark sunglasses and he sarcastically said “Sorry Senator!”. I turned back to my work, a little shaken. I knew that voice…that nose (he had a hat). It was John Lennon! My god, I just offended John Lennon! He was with an Asian woman but it was not Yoko. What astonished me was that he was so pale…so thin and a bit gaunt. Much later I discovered that he had loved cartooning as a teen. What I should’ve done is apologize and maybe get on my knees, groveling! “I’m not worthy! I’m not worthy!” He would be dead in 3 months …
*He was with an asian woman who wasn't Yoko ??... I can't imagine John having a coffee out alone with one of Yoko's niece really... Wonder who that must have been... But thanks for that nice anecdote Christopher !*
I would guess that the Asian woman was May Pang, the Lennons’ assistant who had an affair with John at Yoko’s insistence during The Lost Weekend.
To much Yoko always babbling
Musicians shouldn’t be talking, they should just make music. Pretentious people this John and Yoko
When John Lennon died, a lot more was lost than his art and music. He had a lot of influence over people in his generation, and I think our political leaders we have today, some, I think, Lennon would have spoken his mind about, Trump being one of them.
Love and peace is powerful, and that power instills fear in people who don't want it. When you have someone as revered and high-profile as John promoting a message of positivity and love and peace, that scares some people. It's odd that some humans feel that way, but it's consistent throughout history. Same thing happened to Kennedy. He wanted to make a better world and some people were so afraid of that that someone decided to wipe him off the face of the earth. I don't agree with that mentality, and it shouldn't be that way, but humans have evolved in a way that is fearful of idealism and equal rights and all this stuff. It's nuts; I don't understand it, but that seems to be the way we are.
Just a few hours from being shot and killed by Jose Perdomo.
"Sgt Lennon" hahahha hes awesome..
Does everyone really know what love is...???
I think a lot of you need to understand that this interview was angry and for a very big reason. The Beatles had just broken up, and John was being sued by his best friend, even though he himself had been told to stay quiet about it for an entire year. John was bitter, and his interviews in 1980 show a very different person who’d had time to think and reflect on a lot of things
I wish she'd been allowed to scream over the top of every beatles track. Would have reallt added to the art.
*Indeed !... Over "Yesterday" for instance, that would have been beautiful.*
This was recorded literally hours before he was slaughtered by the US government, and they used the same lone nut scenario that they used when the took the lifes of JFK and RFK, Martin Luther king, ect ect, they take mentally vulnerable people and through the CIA MK ultra mind control programme, they literally hypnotize these mentally challenged people, but I GUARANTEE YOU THAT THE US GOVERNMENT WAS INVOLVED IN JOHNS MURDER... Hassan hassan who had absolutely no memory of the shooting of Robert f Kennedy, but at his flat were all these rhymes about how kiling Robert Kennedy, and you see the exact same thing with mark chapman, had books with similar rhymes like, ( the phoney must die says the capture in the rye ) and its just got all the classic hallmarks of the MK ultra mind control programme..
One of the worst nights of my life. It was a mind altering acknowledgement that humans don’t deserve to called more advanced beings than any other creature. Humans are animals like all the rest and, in some ways, worse for having developed warped brains. John was a great gift from the Universe and we just didn’t deserve him.
Hes the most interesting person in music history.
私は何かを依頼されてとかやっていたわけではないから。 日本の人達は本当に全員全てがもう鳥肌が立つほどに😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢

I had the pleasure to interview Laurie Kaye who was co-interviewer on that fateful day. As you can hear here she asked the most insightful questions
