I don’t know, when I listen to people like Frank Zappa I feel that I’m smarter.
Why Frank Zappa makes all interviewers look like JERKS, they don’t know what to ask and they come up with stupid questions!
I watched and listened to this amazed. His almost prodigious accuracy as to what is happening now politically is incredible. I always appreciated and enjoyed him as being only musically creative, and otherwise "avant garde". I now imagine him in whatever afterlife, looking down and shaking his head, with that wry smile.
Listening to this man makes you smarter. FACT.
Fantastic interview.
47:05 is this perhaps a reaction to his illness we see on his face? Just a thought, he seemed a bit agitated at this point, and we know he had his diagnosis in 1990.
Hello, maybe/yes and also, he'd suffered horrible injuries from an accident when a fan pushed him off the stage during a Mother's concert; wheelchair over a year; gimpy for the rest of his life.
Thanx a lot Genius❤
His persona show threw this interview , Like every great artist - humble Super intelligent & I think He was pretty much a man of his Word We had an excellent drummer in Hungary in a band called Omega , Now this guy - named Laux József worked a lot with Frank Zappa in Hollywood (recording) songs . He was fortunate to know him & meet him
He was a musical genious truely one of a kind God bless Him for all what he left to human kind Miss him terribly 🎈
I HAVE NOTICED SOMETHING ABOUT ,TOM PETTY AND FRANK ZAPPA AND JOHN LENNON ,THEY ALL HAVE THE same nose😊❤
Frank Zappa very ,very wise
Wise man.
His voice already sounds ill…compared to interviews only a few years before this.
he might've received his diagnosis by now
He had a dad with a security clearance, too. Respect
45:09 disappointing.
I’ve always loved listening to Zappa talk.
I’ve always loved listening to Zappa.
As much as I like Zappa, I boggle at the idea of another musician with a father and security clearances.
First question to ask any rising star. 😂

Thanks Arthur I never saw that interview before quite about the inside Frank Zappa, who has views on government and music and everything. Very interesting interview.
Was Zappa surprised when i touched the dwarf inside?!?!?!?
Not sure, I can't put my finger on it.

Wow !! I could listen to him for hours/days/weeks/and months ..........

No doubt, a great thinker!
In a democracy everyone gets to say what's on their mind.
You're not allowed to speak your mind. Also, democracy is evil and you don't live in one.
He just described how Trump got elected
He explicitly said to run without a party and not campaign. Trump joined a party (that he didn’t really agree with btw) and campaigned. Seems like he was predominantly misaligned with what FZ said
It wasn’t til just this week, after 50+ yrs as a Zappa naut, did I finally realize one of his mentors was Allan Holdsworth. So similar in style. Always thought Frank was essentially original to the core. Not entirely…
Frank was a fan of Holdsworth, but he wasn't a mentor.
@@CharlieDog705 Sorry, intended to say more like a fan and guessing he inspired him in some ways.
@@davenelson8187 I'm sure he did. Cheers!
A man with nearly total focus ❤ Love it or leave it…
First time I'm hearing that of Eisenhower/golfing. Did Trump took a page from him?
*take. You may want to learn to write a sentence at a second grade level bud.
Too bad Frank died before it was proven that McCarthy was right.
How so?

So many genius level folks have let themselves be killled by nicotine
You live your life without unhealthy vices…you die healthy 🎉
And didn't live much of a life.
What an absolute genius this man was. RIP
For all their faults, prople like Zappa, Serling and Sagan were these far orbiting energies that applies heat to the human consciousness.
Wisdom personified..
WOW! Kennedy is a good guy huh? All right you’re OK with him making a fool of his wife and using women like toilet paper, fine Vietnam? Bay of pigs? Cuban missile crisis? The Kennedys as a collective are generations of an awful family. For as bad as Watergate was, IT PALES IN COMPARISON TO THE FBI, CIA, & DOJ of today actually working for the democrats. •8 whistleblowers whose lives will now be a living hell came forward to say THE FBI WAS ACTIVELY USED TO DESTROY THE TRUMP CAMPAIGN IN 2016 -in the trash mainstream media said about the hundreds upon hundreds of pages in the report there isn’t much to see there👍🏻 •The ENDLESS BASELESS INDICTMENTS OF TRUMP, they can’t kill him they want to. So his predictions of democracy being revealed as a farce HAS COME TRUE, but would he still defend the left. He says hes of no party, but come on? It was Tipper Gore who wanted to censor him, but never a mention of that always Reagan, Bush…. •Are the ‘woke’ police any better than McCarthy?????? Would LOVE to see how Frank would see the complete fck show America has become compliments of the criminal gutter trash people vote for 👏🏻

cant wait until this guys finds the clip where zappa said that christian fascism is a bigger threat to the US than communism, I guess zappa is just another woke liberal 😂

Owned by rabid right wing propaganda
@@wheatthin6468 I saw that. This country didn't come remotely close to a "Fascist Theocracy" as Frank put it. Frank was VERY intelligent and insightful, But he talked out of his ass a lot.
How the tables have turned since Clinton, eh Frank? I wonder if he'd acknowledge the turning of the tables.
“The illusion of freedom will continue as long as it's profitable to continue the illusion. At the point where the illusion becomes too expensive to maintain, they will just take down the scenery, they will pull back the curtains, they will move the tables and chairs out of the way and you will see the brick wall at the back of the theater.” ― Frank Zappa
Tables have turned for chump, even more so.
No. Thedemocrats became a right wing party under Clinton. Frank would be doubly correct.
And to this day, being able to think for yourself and to think critically is labeled "eccentric" and "weird." Thanks Frank and rest in peace.
Zappa says that the majority of Americans are "musically illiterate " ( I agree),However, Zappa stated that "He himself " resonated with Blues, which is the foundation of a lot of American popular music, that most Americans resonate with, because it's simple and repetitive, cliche,etc....hence the musically illiterate resonate with that more than say Beethoven,etc....yet Zappa didn't resonate with composers like Beethoven,etc...(?) But he resonated with blues(?) He definitely was an intelligent guy,but he blatantly contradicted himself with those statements.
Zappa was indeed an eccentric musical genius, but I feel his approach was somewhat contrived. The fact that anyone would not find composers like JS Bach " interesting]",Tells me,that they absolutely do not resonate with Artistic music at the highest caliber.
eccentric
Had me going for a second with that Rushmore thing
The humor of this man... just incredible! Thank you. 😂
For a Frenchman who had a father and grandfather who actually lived through the Second World War, Frank ZAPPA's testimony is truly hilarious. - Mental confusion, I guess. :/ - or a provocation for a sensationalist journalist. Haha! :)
String Beans to Utah!
Too bad he latched on to the tobacco companies propaganda, they were the same people who were helping prop up a fascist theocracy in the US. They were all too happy to take his money, shuffle it into the deamon Reagan's campaign, and kill him off in the process.
True
I was 15 in 1966 and I frequented the whiskey a gogo on the sunset strip, anti war and womens rights issues were cause of riots there. End of innocence. Freak out was one of my favorite albums at the time.
