Aw man this one is actually different than mine, it has a barrier on the shorter spiral piece preventing anything from going all the way through the spiral

I was given one of these as a child--perhaps 60 years ago at a family reunion/picnic. It was actually very nicely decorated with a landscape painting. I had so much fun playing with it. Wish I still had it. Of course, back then, you used a penny.

I have one like this same print and everything but the pull of the pieces there is 4 on each side not 1

I have a similar one and the first part of the puzzle is a drawer like yours but that makes music when you pull the drawer open. I’m convinced there might be a second part of my puzzle box like yours with a compartment at the top but I haven’t mastered that yet.

I've solved this so many times that i can almost solve it by feel and not look at the moves.

start with 18/9 + 3 = 5 then 6*7 - 0 = 42. All numbers and operators covered. Then just look for the combination that works. Usually drops out in 3 sometimes it takes 4. Double numbers arent usually a problem with this.

Thanks for posting this video. I have a similar box (not as elaborate as yours) that my father had and gave to me 50 years ago. It looked old even then. Mine is just a box you put something in and slide the side and when you open it, it looks like the thing has disappeared. I show it to my 2 boys once in a while and let them have a go at it under my watchful eye. I have always loved it and often said that if the house catches fire I will just grab my boys, the box and the dog and get the hell out of there! Sorry cat.😅
