Initially I had no idea what was there in that dark space. I could only make out a very vague outline of something large, so aimed for the head the best i could but end up hitting it in the gills. The snook still seemed very strong so decided 2nd shot was necessary. I admit it got messy after with the missed 2nd shot, the tangles and me not finding its brain the first time with my knife.

Shoulda coulda woulda nope! He needed a second shot before i got close him. Large snook are very tough and powerful!
Be precise and gentle next time ! You’ve putted yourself in a mess out there , luckily it’s too shallow..
Ye well this is raw solo spearfishing not ballay it can get messy out there... big fish in the shallow is a big catch with less risk thats a plus for me
