That sucks....expensive mistake. It happened to me recently at my club with a drone flyer. He wondered into my area and hit my heli. My blade went straight through he's battery pack. My heli landed ok. Blades several damaged. His drone went up I a fire ball. Completely destroyed.

Not even looking where he's flying.

When I crash, it is systematically in situations where it is impossible to activate a rescue mode..So no I have never used it

Umm...what's the reason helicopters can't do this....I wouldn't want to be anywhere near anything to do with it. But like can they do this? What would be needed to make a helicopter do this irl?

Stupid question. This isn't purely manual right? There is some flight assistance here from a computer? I remember being turned down at a Toy Hobby store when I was young back in like 98. I wanted a remote control helicopter. Guy asked how much money my mom made! Who does that?! She told him where she worked. Walmart. He said nope, and explained I'd destroy basically the only gift I'd get all year in moments. He showed me planes I could build that were easier to start with.. I got a Corsair model that I could turn into a flying one eventually. That was the plan. I uh never finished it, due to my dog. Yet it was very cool of the owner to not sell us something more expensive. Back then toy helicopters were incredibly hard to fly. He knew I would break it first flight, and be left with nothing. Model helicopters cost like 500$ at least then. Now you have like 20$ helicopters that fly themselves, hah. Kids now are now lucky little bastards. Good for them.

Its hard to tell from a cameras eye but doesnt look that bad. Helis are like some women, a mass of conflicting impulses. He's lucky its not a trainwreck.

This is why spotters are important. Could’ve easily been avoided if spotters were with the pilots. Careless and dangerous.

I usually let the pilots have a moment to settle a bit before exclaiming that I captured it on video but that's just me. I have witnessed hundreds of RC crashes and some people don't take it well. Lots of time, money and emotion gets invested in these things.

That was soo brutal! I feel sorry for both pilots! The OMP M7 seems to be a real tank! It looks relatively fine while the Specter looks like a bomb dropped on it!! Lots of $$ burned in a fraction of a second.
