I at least appreciate Metro for retaining three of these vehicles for preservation (including Car 100), and acknowledging their impact upon the revival of rail transit within LA. The rumours were proven true. Car 164 is at the Western Railway Museum, Car 100 is set to be on display at Downtown Long Beach, and Car 144 is at the Southern California Railway Museum. Cars 164 and 144 are still operational, so we can still see it run and hear its electric buzz of its engines. If this was Hong Kong (where I'm from), all of those trains would have been scrapped, and they would have moved right on to the future, ignoring their past. But surely, it's quite sad to see Car 100, the first car to enter operation within the network, being the chosen car that's doing the towing operation. While Car 100 is still around, the car behind it would be gone within a few months.

Metro wasted money on adding vinyl seats to the P2020s and building more P3010s. The P2020s should not have been retired this early, they were perfectly healthy. When I was a child, I rode the Blue Line to Long Beach on a P2020 and I deeply regret not taking photos of it or filming it.

I prefer the air operated roof mounted dual or triple horns.
