Stayed there for a week as a kid in 73 waiting for Oldfield to finish up (he was late) so my dad could start recording. Had a fight in the billiard room heh
Bought this album having sen them on OGWT, still play it , by the way Sandy has recently brought out an album, his voice is as good as ever, recommend it
Hello, Victor. I discovered your video and I thought I would like to use it with a Mike Oldfield demo track, which as you know, he recorded there. I ask your permission to use it, and I ask it here because I couldn't ask it by mail. Let me know if I can do it. Thank you, and best regards
Thanks
Of course you can. You're welcome. I have no rights to either the Van Morrison track (which you won't be using anyway) or the booklet. I just retained one when I was there and posted pics of it.
@@victorgoldfarb Hello again, Victor... As you wrote to put here the link to the video, it is this... Thank you very much for the transfer of your video... czcams.com/video/abGn8Id6MTA/video.html
NOT available on Apple iTunes though. I believe that the only one not available!!
This manor studio born mike oldfield at 1973.
One of the great lost classic albums.
Great band and exceptional lead singer. Knew them back in the 70's when my chum David signed them. Hope they all went on to good things
Can confirm it was released as a 7inch single..sadly lost my copy many years ago...
This is a great album
Wow, That brings back memories. I spent several years working on the Mobile. Great times, I learnt so much.
Hi Ian. It does bring back memories. I spent almost all of the summer of 1976 working there with various artists, including Mud. Loved the place!
What a beautiful composition, a perfect piece of pop music.
This album is on CD as well!
I helped build this
You did a good job. What a nice place, and relaxing studio to record in. Great sound too.
Nice, really nice. Thank you for that
Thanks. I figured it would hold some good memories for quite a few 'I was there' players.
Remember hearing this for the first time on the OGWT. Loved it then, love it now!
My older brother bought me this album when it was released as a gift for starting my first job still have it and still love it. Should have got the recognition it deserved.
Great Band - Like Cado Belle should have been huge !
I had this single...can't believe it's on here...Ahh, memories. LoppyLugs, Finchley.
This should've been a guy who made it big, bought the album when it come out.....fantastic x
Thank you brother. From the ashes czcams.com/video/h7HzovQIuC8/video.html
@victorgoldfarb - Thanks for uploading all these Sandy McLelland tracks Victor. Always loved "The Jokers Just A Fool" which was the best track on an obscure "Record Mirror" sampler album I had back in the day. And now it seems the rest of the album is just as good! Any chance you could upload some more tracks from the album? PS. I just came across a 7" of the 1st Sandy McLelland & The Backline single "Like A Hurricane" which wasn't included on the album for some reason. I'll see if I can transfer it to mp3 and upload it here..
Pete Coe!!! You popped into my head and so I went into good old Google..... I think of you when I see a beetle after all these years! Don't see many about now but one just zoomed past my window. My sister also has a rare 15 window splitty from S Africa she has been lovingly (and painfully!!) doing up. I have an ancient renault campervan that I have upholstered in artificial grass and when I took it to a vw fest to show the splitty it was my camper that got lots of interest! Hope you are happy - glad the music is still alive in you. Love to you. Adele
way beyond his time, lay smouldering to this track and others many a time in my misspent youth
Love this song with Todd Rundgren...Great sound as well
didn't he sing going for gold?
only heard this once before - about 1980 . Very good version. Thanks so much for posting.
i'm still on the island thanks, but no more welding VW Beetles ! glad to see this music still respected, it was a very special period in my life , but alas, the London experience was all too brief ! now playing drums here on the Isle of Wight , and loving music more than ever. couldn't ask for more......keep it live !
blast from the plast allright. pete you still on the island ? still welding beetles !?
hi there, thanks for the upload. do you, by any chance have and can upload the track with the Mark Knopfler guitar contribution?
one out for Mr. Irish.. Xj

Too hot to trot, too cool to tango! Thanks for posting this classic nugget of Scottish soul. I heard this loads just before I left Edinburgh for good in 1980. George Duffin played it plenty in his flat at Howe St. Sounds just as good as it did then. Ya dancer!
RIP, Alan Spenner, great bass player.
I grew up next door 2 John Earle and spent a few memorable afternoons getting guitar lessons off him as a teenager. He was a great guy, oozed rock n roll and really was a one of those unique characters you'll only meet once in a lifetime..we were gutted 2 hear of his passing. RIP John.
