Let's say that if you like to smoke rough and spontaneous (little like the wild west way, so to speak), pre-lighting seems pretentious... Part 1 and 2 are excellent and I go completely with you. I was missing a bit the announced third catagory coming from the cigarette. Let me add a bit to that. As I'm a cigarette smoker I always was wwondering about a particular tobacco that was considered to be a heavy smoke, the Three Nun's. Back then in the 2000s a friend said that for cigarette smokers this tobacco is not so heavy and I purchased a tin. Firstly the smell was great and secondly the taste was excellent (but I haven't smoked it for more than 20 years...). The nicotine wasn't overwhelming to me as cigarette smoker. So, except the price point, I could recommend this tobacco to any cigarette smoker who wants to try the pipe. - And you're right: choose the pipe you like! Only if you like the pipe you're starting with, you will grab it and smoke it. - Unfortunately not a lot of real tobacconists are on the market, especially outside the cities. But if you're lucky you have one that is providing his own brand because then he will always have some tins open to sniff on. That will make it much easier for a beginner, from whichever catagory you mentioned before, to choose his preferred kind of tobacco to try out first. - If I was asked for advice I'd rather go on the natural, not scented side. But if possible I'd invite the person to sniff and smoke through the tobaccos that I have to take a fitting decision.
Vielen Dank! Schönes Video über einen Tabak, der mich zu interessieren beginnt, v.a. bei dem Preis. Leider habe ich noch nicht deine anderen Videos zum Thema günstige Pfeifentabake angesehen, werde das aber noch nachholen und bin schon gespannt, da es ja nicht so viel im naturnahen Bereich unter den günstigen Tabaken gibt. Übrigens hat wohl MacBaren die Marke Pöschl übernommen und mancher sagt, dass dies der Qualität gut getan habe. Anscheinend ist der Brookfield Aromatic (auch vormals Pöschl) recht dezent aromatisiert. Auch der Timm's No.1 von DTM könnte da passen... Bis jetzt bin ich im Standardpreissegment unterwegs und rauche gerne Rattray's, Robert McConnel, MacBaren, Peterson (vormals Dunhill) und andere eher wenig aromatisierte Tabake. Ausnahme davon sind einige wenige Tabake von DTM, die zwar stark aromatisiert sind, aber den Tabak nie vergessen machen. Warum machst du deine Videos auf Englisch? Ich bin seit einiger Zeit am überlegen, ob ich mich auch darin versuchen soll und in welcher Sprache. Deshalb frage ich. So long and have a good smoke...

Solche papers habe ich in Österreich in den 70er Jahren mal kurz benutzt .sie waren allerdings braun. aber ist etwas das man nicht unbedingt haben muss.

Hi, best is to roll a cigarillo from the chopped leaf. Use the least 'papertaste' rolling 'paper', rolling machine needed too -at least for me (it is not for pipe smoking, really)

Many women like smoking cigars/cigarillos and the likes. Pipe smoking women are rare, minus the innuendo jokes. I started smoking a pipe in 1979. I was 19 years old then. At that time there was no Borkum Riff Original to my knowledge. There was whiskey, rum, cherry, cognac (brandy), champagne and the black and cherry Cavendishes. Not long ago I found a pouch of original borkum riff and tried it. it was not my cup of borkum riff. to me it lacked something. i think it was the dark fired kentucky. every BR mixture had dark fired, simply called kentucky then. I still buy borkum riff today with kentucky excluded. none of them are the same anymore. but when and where did "BR" pull this original boner out a hat trick? was it not available to america at the time? did sweeden keep it for itself?
Hallo Jeff, when production companies change our usual tobaccos we are struck by profound disappointment... and the memory always returns to the faithful friend that we will no longer be able to enjoy. I agree with you... borkum is very different today, even compared to 10/15 years ago... let's not talk about BFK....this is my favorite tobacco!..if it's missing it's a big loss... thanks for your comment and lot of greetings

A couple thoughts, first, the bubble gum cigarettes with the powder that blows out was a popular candy product when I was a kid in the United States in the 1950's. They diapered as anti smoking grew in the 1960's. Second thought. Pipe smoking here in the west coast of the U.S. is near dead, and seeing a women pipe smoker I haven't seen for 20 years. With this said, is pipe smoking still popular in the Scandinavian area? and by women as well?

Thank you for showing how to use it , i bought it last week and was wondering in which way i can pack tobacco in it to have the best result. I suppose leaving the tie and a bit space in bottom of bowl is a good idea.

Salty dog is a good tobacco but i felt it smells a bit like licorice so if you don't like licorice aroma that's not for you but if you like then you will enjoy.
Very interesting. I also thought that there was something more undeclared than the rum, but liquorice didn't come to mind. Maybe it's my problem because I didn't detect liquorice even in Orlik's dark strong kentucky.... thanks for your comment. greetings
