Carla Belver's portrayal of Mrs. Perry remade the film, Dead Poets Society. I provided some of the poems for Dead Poets Society, and when I heard that the ending would be a child's suicide, I tried my best to mitigate that. I provided the "Huddle Up! ... What will your verse be?" speech against suicidal ideation specifically to deter including those last scenes. I usually have a lot of pull with Hollywood folk, I'd suggested The Star War be filmed, contributed The Force, The Jedi, The Training, and The Pirate Code among others. Well, after I saw the film, Carla Belver's film, I was awestruck at Carla Belver's performance. She almost literally tore my heart out of my chest. After seeing what she contributed, I wholeheartedly agreed with my colleague's assessment, that it would be criminal to cut the best acting anybody had ever seen out of the film. Carla Belver should have won Best Supporting Actress for Dead Poets, and easily, too. I have loved her all my life now, I think. She is wonderful, just wonderful.

His influence was to secularize it and dilute it for mass consumption.
