I always felt this scene was a bit too abrupt. Woul have fitted a lot better if James said something like: "Sadly, this series has now come to it's definite end." Brief moment of silence. Hammond: "Well, anyway..." Both walk off. Fade to black. Credits roll in complete silence. Final bit of text: "Thanks for watching."

Whenever I first saw this I was devastated. I went to school the next day in a daze, I just couldn't believe it

I want an edit of this song and this clip but when the music swells it's the three of them driving in the Mustangs in E1 of Grand Tour.

I find it haunting how quick and no-nonsense this scene was. No jokes, no fancy effects, no bombastic theatrics. Just a brief farewell and a straight-faced goodbye with a silent credits sequence. Speaking of which, that always said goodnight at end of each episode, but here they said a sombre goodbye. It was truly the end of an era for British television.

I haven’t watched any episode of the “new top gear “ after this , ive been watching top gear since my childhood in 90’s its not the sale without clarkson.. so sad

There have only been two days in my many years of watching movies and TV shows that I've genuinely teared up: this day, and the day the grand tour removed the studio audiences. And I do genuinely think that this is, without a doubt, the single greatest television series (limited only to the time the three pillocks we all loved were there) in history. Why? Because it's a show about cars that no one watched for the cars. People, me included tuned in for every single episode to see 3 guys enjoying themselves and making us laugh. It was never about the cars, that was just the excuse they used to give us something to laugh about after a long day. I think the moment, the PINNACLE of the relationship these 3 have with both themselves, and the fans they have, culminated with the release of the Grand Tour, when that was the only thing me and about 90% of the staff at my work could talk about. People I didn't even KNOW knew about these three were buzzing, going "Clarkson, Hammond and May are coming back" and it made me think, these guys did for British Television what no one else has done, is doing or will ever do. I mean, think about it, if not for these three being the presenters, who in the hell would've known about top gear or even bloody watched it, unless they were interested in the latest developments in the automobile world. Hundreds of millions of people worldwide watched them drive trucks across Burma, send a mannequin flying through a window in the name of science, and we were having bloody fun because they were.

End of era thanks to the bully called Clarkson! His fault no one else to blame
