      @TRyanLearnBikes Před 8 hodinami

      @will7its Well sir if the frame you're talking about is the one at the end of the video , it's nothing special, it's just a bone stock 2005 Yamaha YZ250. Now, regarding the tire dot .It's typically the lightest part of the tire, and most people line them up with the valve stem .But it's not always the case as some tires may have two different colored dots that mean different things according to the individual manufacturers. But don't get too caught up in that game the margins are so thin,just properly balance the tire after the tire is on and you'll be good to go . Thanks for watching and for taking the time to comment. Hi Ricardo ,thanks very much .I was able to remove the diesel by rinsing out the tank a few times with a little bit of regular gasoline .If I was to do this rust removal process again I would use a little bit of two stroke oil to stop it from flash rusting . That way it would mix better with fuel and be fine if it wasn't totally removed as it would be ok to run through the engine .The bike make smoke a bit for a short time but not for long . Been there, done that. Bought the 👕. One time back in the 80's when I was young & stupid,living at home with mom & dad I had to fix a flat on the rear tire of my street bike. Long story short I did'nt have the bead of the tire down in the drop center of the rim. I pried on it so hard I broke the bead at ruined the tire.☹Note to self: never do that again. As they say,the most expensive mistakes are the ones you don't learn from. When inflating the tube,just inflate it about half way,then deflate & inflate fully. This allows the tube to take shape inside the tire & avoid pinching.

      Acids eat metal unless you do chemical magic and deactivate the acidity with soda. Electrolysis attacks the rust first and foremost, not taking clean metal out in the beginning. Also leaves tank much cleaner afterwards, while acids tend to leave black oxide on the steel that needs to be brushed off and smells rather nasty. Bigfoot is real. I’ve seen Harry and the Hendersons! Seriously, every time you post. I learn something new. Thanks for dropping wisdom bombs on us. And FYI, your DRZ oil change video is the best one on CZcams. 💪🏼

      @linksgarage1985 Hey thanks man I really appreciate your always kind words . Surprised you spotted the Bigfoot reference. Most people don't stick around past the end of the main video . Also thanks for your props on the oil change video it actually means a lot coming from a DRZ expert like yourself. Cheers to you, good sir 👍

    Hahaha!! love your videos man. I got burned for $400 for the "professional" services of paint & rust removal on a tank. Never again. My subsequent tank repairs have been similar to yours but I've found ceramic stone polishing material (looks like rice) and a few hours tumbling does a great job. At the end, I've sprayed a bit of WD40 in the tank (after the baking soda) and it's great because it absorbs the water and leaves a light, oily residue that can be used for long term storage. Swish a little solvent around and it's ready for gas. Keep up the great content!!

      @KensWorldRestorations Hey thanks very much. I appreciate your support. Yikes 400 bucks is a steep figure to swallow especially if the job was sub par .I like your process .It sounds like it would have been very effective. Thanks again for watching and for taking the time to comment. Cheers 👍

      @@TRyanLearnBikes It was a great job actually - just really expensive. Same as the calipers I sent out first round and figuring out how to do it myself afterwards. These days I just focus on buying the right tools rather than throw money away on shop labour.

      @KensWorldRestorations Thats a great approach, as long as you have the right tools you'll usually have a good shot at success. Just had a look at your channel. Your videos are great 👍. I can learn a lot from what you're doing .So I had to sub ...looking forward to future vids .

    Unnecessary as Long as Citric Acid is cheap, available and more thorough. And after derusting it properly dont forget to Seal the inside of the Tank so it will never Rust again.

      @sjoerd_maasland581 After a quick search (that you also could have done, by the way), I found that Epoxy putty for the exterior or POR15 for the inside of the tank will seal it.

      @sjoerd_maasland581 Před 10 dny

      @@PaulRudd1941 No, epoxy putty is used when sealing off small holes or to make patches, not as a coating. Also I have seen stuff like that leak over time. I'm asking here because someone might have used some type of coating on tanks which was nice to use. Of course I can search on google but that doesn't add someone else's experience with that stuff into account.

      @@sjoerd_maasland581 If there is leaks then use putty from outside and sealant, but if you want to prevent it from rusting again, flush it real good, put in clean solution, put in peace of zinc like with the steel rod and reverse polarity. Now you have zinc electroplated tank again.

    Nicely done mate one thing to note using tubes is as you insertt your lever refitting the tyre make sure you only use the tip of the lever or you can pinch the tube and start all over .

    • @TRyanLearnBikes
      @TRyanLearnBikes Před 11 dny

      @Yoda-em5mt Thank you very much .Yes you make a very valid point that only the tip of the lever is required or risk of pinches is increased. Thanks for watching and for taking the time to comment. Cheers 🍻
