Hey.
Sulphur Nimbus: Hel's Elixir Playthrough - 17 - Snop
Yes, "snop" is a mispelling of shop and is probably a reference to Sweet Bro and Hella Jeff.
Alright, so here it is. The final video of the playthrough. Here I show you things you unlock in Melinda's shop by playing through the game and getting everything. You unlock almost all of these things on your global save file, so you can access pretty much all of them even on new files.
You unlock the blob detector after getting all nine stars, allowing you to use it to clean up the remaining blobs easily. You unlock the Melinda summon after getting 500 blobs (you don't need that extra one) and it's a fun reward that gives you the same infinite flight stamina and high powered dash that you get in the final boss when Melinda is riding you. I don't remember exactly when you unlock the portrait but WAARK. You unlock disguises from beating the game, and yeah you do unlock all of them at once.
The disguises have a suprising amount of work put into them since they not only change your model and textures, but also the dash cooldown gauge, the cursor in menus, and the name they refer to you as in game over screens (I didn't show that in the video). Some of them also have some really cool replacements for wings, especially Arty's.
The last disguise I show off is not in the game, but is one I modded in myself using files I found buried in Oddwarg's website. It directly shows you who was originally going to be the star in this game and how the game was originally going to be a fangame of a certain TV show. Oddwarg changed the protagonist once he decided that the game needed funding to finish and created the Kickstarter after replacing the characters and some story elements. If you want the mod yourself, you can download it here, just unzip it and put the res folder in the Sulphur Nimbus directory, allowing the files to be placed in the proper folders, and she will be a disguise that you can select once you unlock disguises:
www.mediafire.com/file/1o5c0nypvbqavxt/Ranblow_Dish_Mod.zip/file
Anyways, thank you for watching these videos. Really, I can't imagine too many people will watch all of these and read these descriptions, especially since I know people will be turned off by the art style or won't even give this game a chance because of its connection to something else. So if you gave this game a chance and watched all of these videos, I truly thank you deeply. And yeah, you are allowed to not like it even after you gave it that chance.
I will only make more videos as I find games I want to make videos of, so don't expect all that many playthroughs on my channel from this point on.
You can get the game yourself here: oddwarg.itch.io/sulphur-nimbus-hels-elixir

Sulphur Nimbus: Hel's Elixir Playthrough - 16 - Boss Replay

You unlock Boss Replay by beating the game, and it's exactly what it sounds like. However, in this video I use it to show off what the bosses are like in hard mode. I give myself one try for each boss, since I genuinely can't beat some of the bosses on hard mode. I'm showing off the game, not my skills at playing it. The map that this mode uses was made specifically for it and that actually cha...
Sulphur Nimbus: Hel's Elixir Playthrough - 15 - Kickstarter Demo
zhlédnutí 107Před 3 lety
Yes, this game was a Kickstarter game that had a demo with a completely original island with only elements of the final game instead of being an exact portion of it. You can play the demo yourself for free right on the Itch.io page, but this video is actually using the version of the demo that you can play in the full game after getting far enough to unlock it. The demo has a text tutorial that...

Alexander Kvernbitt, The Baugr, and Salvatorius The story in this game is surprisingly tragic, especially when you put together all the stuff about how the Hel's Elixir spell works and who Alexander is. This final boss is really freaking good, too, with it testing you on everything you've learned throughout the whole game. The first phase of the fight is basically the Melinda and other same siz...

Wakeful "Let go of all hope, he who steps in" is what google translate tells me that sign at the beginning of this last optional level says. It's basically "abandon all hope, ye who enter." This is everything that's left to get 100% before the final boss. Pretty much all documents (other than ones you can get in Melinda's shop or during the finale), all 9 stars, and all 500 blobs.... Okay, 501....

Rotor The final main level, although you can do them in any order as long as you have enough stars to open their castle doors and enough blobs to open their barriers. Also, you only need to do 8 out of the 9 main levels to beat the game. Of course, I'm doing everything in this run. For technically a water level, this level is actually pretty great, probably because you don't go under the water ...

Daemon Really cool level, really cool boss. In fact, the boss was actually designed by one of the Kickstarter backers as a reward tier. Not much else to say actually, other than that I show off some things about revisiting levels at the end and show where those Stones of Departure lead, which you can only use if you beat the level first. You can get the game yourself here: oddwarg.itch.io/sulph...

Tank So, this video is pretty awkward, honestly. It starts with an optional overworld fight (that had the same technical issue as the end of the last video), then I fly around getting a few blobs I missed (I meant to get that single one in the castle earlier), and then I do another optional overworld level (me going all the way across the island to get to it wasn't nearly as natural as the Exot...
Sulphur Nimbus: Hel's Elixir Playthrough - 9 - Abysmal Chasm
zhlédnutí 69Před 3 lety
Cursed Root This level is really cool and really atmospheric. It's the only main level that has no combat at all: just flying, platforming, and puzzles. It has a very nice low stakes flying challenge at the end. If you've played previous games made by Oddwarg, I'd say that this level is the most Oddwarg-iest. I had a huge technical issue at the end of this level and at the beginning of the next...
Sulphur Nimbus: Hel's Elixir Playthrough - 8 - Exotic Energy Lab
zhlédnutí 96Před 3 lety
Melinda Kvernbitt I didn't know about the ravine side path until just before doing this playthrough. I'm guessing that it's there in case you want to go back to get things you missed in the ravine level since you can't go back the exact way you came. The Exotic Energy Lab is one of the three optional levels on the overworld, although it isn't the first one that's available to you since it requi...
Sulphur Nimbus: Hel's Elixir Playthrough - 7 - Ravine
zhlédnutí 62Před 3 lety
Imp Crew This level is probably the ugliest looking, honestly. I mean, everything in this game is done by one person on an extremely low budget, so quite a bit of slack can be given there. Either way, this level still has a fun gameplay hook mostly about dipping low before flying higher and dodging deadly grape soda. Lava does more damage than grape soda, obviously. That ending, though... You c...
Sulphur Nimbus: Hel's Elixir Playthrough - 6 - Air Ventilation
zhlédnutí 60Před 3 lety
Problem Yeah, I purposely went back to the lift just to show that extra scene, ride it again, and then show you that you can skip it easily. This level right here. This level feels so cool when you can fly smoothly through the tunnels and air currents and such. I'm not that smooth, though. Cats. You can get the game yourself here: oddwarg.itch.io/sulphur-nimbus-hels-elixir
Sulphur Nimbus: Hel's Elixir Playthrough - 5 - Frozen Caves
zhlédnutí 67Před 3 lety
Mitrailleuse Ice physics are actually kind of fun in this game. This is the only ice level, though. The idea of a hailstorm being an obstacle with overhangs to protect you is a very interesting and a nicely atmospheric idea too. Also, you can't fly straight up because gravity and inertia are a thing. The boss here is actually pretty easy. It's basically Gunlegs, but there's three of them and no...
Sulphur Nimbus: Hel's Elixir Playthrough - 4 - Foundry
zhlédnutí 87Před 3 lety
Gunlegs Yeah, I'm spreading out overworld exploration throughout the whole playthrough rather than doing it all at once. Those eye cactus enemies activate quicker and quicker the more of them you take out, so you'll have to fly at the later ones from further away to gather speed. The foundry is basically a puzzle level. The pictures in that foundry document are far more important than the words...

Tumor I'll show off hard mode, specifically with boss fights, in a video at the end of the playthrough. I'll also show off everything in Melinda's "snop" in another video. Each circle on the diagrams represent 10 blobs that you need to open the corresponding barrier. I find the game using the word "blob" for the collectables kinda weird, honestly. I would've used something like "sparks", especi...

Just finished it what an adventure
This returned in the newest video of that one gator's nintendo channel
2:45 most relateable part of the video. Every kid punched midbus once and went "oh i need to keep doing it" then got walloped
It's weird to think how exclusive the company is of people who actually played this game on this system, especially when it was current. Really cool technology for its day.
I swear, I’m gonna find me a virtual boy for the soul purpose of finishing this game.
is there any way to get this demo to play today?
Classic
You used most mystical and legendary Pokémon.
I miss this game. They should bring it back on the Nintendo switch
Amazing!!
Pikachu's Koho Tenkai! 0:15😊😂😂
I miss this game, so many memories and super nostalgic
Oh man, this gotta be my favorite song out of the whole soundtrack! It feels calm like the smw og, but with extra parts to make it feel original and relaxing....
Interplay did a nice job of remixing the already existing smw tracks....they sound Better than the og. Especially this one, it actually makes it feel scary
*WIIIIDESCREEEEEN*
I don't see them as a couple. But others are free to think of them in that way. I don't care. I love the both of them and I'm fine with people shipping them. From my knowledge, the creator hasn't confirmed it but the game developers said they saw them as a couple. But I find scenes like this cute but also funny. I know that Max has said he doesn't like girls, but I see both of them as best friends.
Donut Plains
Idk but for some reason, the NA bad future music is very good
for people who do not know: "Saving a lot of data..." means the game is storing lots of data to its memory, thus causing slowdown when emulating Diamond, Pearl or Platinum. On a real DS, there would be 0 slowdown.
Why does the music stop at 1:56 but the video keeps going for another minute and a half? Actually, why DO video game music uploads keep doing that, have the music play, then give another minute or so of dead air? Edit: Nevermind, Totaka's Song, I should have known.
Older uploads apparently did it because CZcams compression was even weirder than it is now, and having a certain amount of the video be silent would somehow improve the audio quality. This is just what I've heard, maybe it's wrong.
This is almost like if Wario invaded Castlevania.
Sounds vaguely spooky... :o
What a bop!
I’ve stumbled upon lost treasure
I used to play this game when I was 7 and lost my Wii and I will never forget that moment
Play the first part on 1.25 times speed, it sounds like real hardware
How Can i get the legendarys
Man I loved playing this back in the day. Too bad I sucked at this game severely :(
is it just me or does 0:00 to 0:12 sound like "Where da hood at by DMX"
Oshawott in this game was so cute. 😊
PokéPark Wii used Nostalgia! It's super effective!
Enemies to lovers is real
Who think the 3d version is better 👇🏻
Love that depressing feel to this music, also giving you the "almost beating the game" feel. Somebody needs to remix this :)
Showed up in my feed. Laughed so hard. Well done 👍
_Imagines SMG4 taking all the characters to High School_
Que tal?
Everytime o player this on vbjin the game just stops but the music keeps playing for some reason.
The virtual boy is the only console I can play that makes me feel like I'm actually in the year 1995

0:15 this part hurts my ears
all hail the virtual boy incredible, incredible
I like how the comment section can’t decide if it’s good or bad I’m on the former side, to be honest, but I think it’s one of those things where it’s ahead of its time, seeing as most of the comments that don’t like it seem to be older
When I was playing this on an emulator and my friend said he'd do a metal cover of that opening theme. It would sound good on electric guitar
10:12 definitely the best score of the video
I would actually want to see the Shadow Mushroom powerup in a real game
