Beautiful
So beautiful place congratulations my friend, I would love to fly there with my drone and make some videos🎉 watching you from Brazil 🇧🇷
Nice sailplanes.
How did these two sailplanes get permission to fly there? It was taken away long ago! I was involved in trying to keep gliders flying there as they were first!!! That was in the early 1930's. Might want to check the monument naming those that flew in the very early days..... quite a history also Point Loma. My uncle is on both monuments.
Great flying. Jeff in LA USA
Perfect!!!!!
Great flying in nice conditions ... Beautiful landings Thanks for sharing...
As a paraglider pilot, I would steer clear of this ridge while the RC gliders do their thing. One of those contraptions has an actual human being strapped in… I’m sure they look closer than they really are, but just imagine one of those screaming into your lines at 100mph+… Having flown at Andy Jackson and other similar glider sites, the fixed-wing and glider pilots give us paragliders plenty of space (for safety and to avoid causing wake/turbulence). PS. Cool flying. My RC glider is an old ZAGI and it still slopes like a dream! Fly safe and share the sky folks! ✌🏼
Perfect. Thanks for sharing.
Great spot - I would be worried about the paragliders. Great flying too - thanks for showing the landings!
We use spotters to give the person flying a big sailplane info on when and where parasails enter the window etc. Info given (from direction) approx height, color of sail, tandem or single. You might also hear "all clear to the South, or North". We give the same info when landing.
@@sdmollerThey're not parasails.
Tolles Modell. Leider gibt das hier kein Verein her.
@@twinspark540 time to start one. 😎👍
@@sdmoller In Germany is Envy too much🥲
There are some great spots in Germany. On my bucket list is to come over to Germany and fly some gliders. One day.
Wonderful !
It is such a great flier. Love flying it there.
Beautiful gliders and a lovely spot to fly.
That feel when you buy a new ship for thousands of dolars and see same model have all around you ...
Well, I think he bought it as a result of watching us fly ours and raving about them. It's truly a great thermal flier. Not meant to do big fast dives or fly by's but simply just float and the handling is incredible. Easy as a trainer to land.
S2G kit? Flys very similar to my old S2G, loved that fox! czcams.com/video/SblHMYjOc1c/video.html
well done!!! Beautiful Glider. Best Regards
So majestic and beautiful, what an amazing plane flown magnificently well. The horse guy? 🤔 Lol!
Yep, he is a showman for sure. I personally love to watch him fly almost as much as I love flying my self.
@@sdmoller That's awesome!
Simply beautiful...!! Nice choice of music ... A meditation to watch .. ...and what a landing ..!! Thanks for sharing..
Thank you. 🙂
This video cost me almost $400. I just ordered it
LOL, it's a great flier. Im sure you will enjoy it.
Truth be told. He test flew my Heron and after that flight it was no longer mine!!! Here in this video he is flying on his radio after we transferred over the file. If this video cost you $400.- don't watch any of the other videos..... It could cost you anywhere from $5k to $20k. :-)
@@sdmoller You're right. I will ask my bank before they play another video

Yes, it is suppose to calm one down and ease tension. :-)
This video are clips from other videos put together with the special requested music. At first I though it a little too melancholy but after listing a few times it really catches you to the point its almost addictive. Well hope you enjoy as much as we do. 🙂
Another great video.
Thank you :-)
Você sabe o quão atrasado é um povo por usar o sistema métrico imperial.
They tried back in the late 70's but it failed. I know coming from Denmark that the metric system is much easier to use as most here could not tell you off hand how many ounces there are in a gallon! Even worse is now many feet or yards are in a mile. Metric I could easily tell you there are a thousand meters in a kilometer etc. I asked the question as I relate to wing span mostly by meters as so many kids I work with come from Europe.
This 1-26 detail is fantastic.
Great video and sailplane, I love the 1-16. I am in the process of building a 1-26, mine is based on the Mauro Capodaglio design but enlarged 50% to a wingspan of 2.85m and will build the straight rudder. I will finish it like the one in one of my favorite TV shows, "Spencer´s Pilots". Here is that episode. czcams.com/video/0UPjXMlEBdM/video.html
Nice job, Thomas! Great maiden flight, Ren!
Aaron needs a bigger van. Fun times.
You boys are living the dream! Thanks for sharing Tomas and as always very nice filming and editing. Wish I could be there in person.
Beautiful ✌🏼😎👍🏼
Thank. you. 🙂
Great to see you guys having a good day. Steffen - I missed seeing you at the 3 day event in Visalia this May. Hope to see you in October. Best of luck in Paris. Chris Pratt
Steffen was there Wednesday & Thursday but had to go back early Friday monring. I have forwarded your comment to him.
Nice video Thomas. Flying Rc gliders should be in the Olympics with landings judged. Maybe Steffen can set up a demo at the next Olympics.
Thank you Ray. Hopefully next time you can join us.
Anoher great video and great flying, the only thing wrong is that you fly with Spektrum and not with Jeti :)
Well the Spektrum is more popular here in the USA, but I agree with you the Jeti seams more advance and with the dual band more reliable. Not sure if the programming is any easier on the Jeti then on our Spektrum. Well glad you enjoyed, there is more to come.
@@sdmoller Just kidding but I really like Jeti. I feel that the programming is very straightforward but it all depends what are you used to. What I really hate is OTX, I bought a Radiomaster just to experiment with OTX and I got rid of it.
So awesome!!!!!
Aaron and I just ordered two of these to join Steffen'. We found them at Composit RC ( composite-rc-gliders.com/en/p/ventus-2c-3-6-m ) can't wait to get my hands on them and get them ready for flight..... 7-8 weeks before they ship. Weeks now, 4 more to go.
Nicely done!
😊😊😊😊😊😊
Flew this beauty at visalia last week. Fantastic model. 4 of thomas' creations were there.
What speed !!!
Not exactly sure what you are asking, but she doesn't fly that fast. I think if Aaron was to put a lot more ballast into it, it could pick up some speed in the dives.
Fantastic where are you fying Did you get this plane as is or did you build it from scratch
Aaron got it second hand already built. I did an overhaul on it mainly just replacing servo wires that were old. I believe it is an old Baudis kit (moulded fiberglass fuse and wings).
Hey guys, how much is the span?
The LET Model DG-1000 is 5.3m and 4.8m with the short tips
@@sdmoller What technology are used to make the wings?
@@vasilkarpec3282 the sailplanes comes already constructed in all fiberglass and carbon fiber. All one has to do is install the electronics.
Lovely. Haven't slope soared for years, finally got back into proper gliding but I do miss the RC side of it. 😊
Just Awesome ! Really Love it... without any additional power, simply using wind energy, Love it ..
Nicely done flying and video production ~! Id so love to have a spot like TP to fly !
Great plane...change the music had to turn the volume off
1984 Spring. Black's Beach? I remember when I was in the Navy , 3 of us went down to the nude beach from the cliffs. Was it at this location? And no we were not nude! But it's been a long time ago and I do seem to remember that there was a glider sport here. Is my memory failing? I am 61 now and I was 21 then.
Now they have stairs the whole way down. No more sliding down the hill. I've had to go down a few time in the early 80's to retrieve my sailplane that I thought could stay up floating in the light lift days.
Looks like a nice day to fly.
It was ok. The wind would come and go.
Thomas, this is a nice video! I used to live in San Diego 30 years ago and would go to the glider park there at TP. I could get out of my car and grab whatever I thought would fly and hurl it over the edge just about whenever I wanted.. Now you have to be a member of the TPG, you have to pay a day fee, you have to take a propeller of your glider if there is one, no motors allowed. blah, blah, blah... Glad to see everything is still so nice. I live in north Orange County now so don't make it down there too often. Anyway, have a great time! Its a beautiful spot
Thank you John. Yes we are still not allowed to have props, although a few flights have been done with props but we usually disconnect the motor.
Fantastic model - wondering why it's sporting the HB-3241 tag as I think this is related to planes located in Switzerland. Anyway, courageous flying, very impressed by the performance of this glider. Some more information would be welcomed ...
first off he has this sailplane 2nd hand. But I think who ever built it looked a pictures of the full scale and must have seen the HB-3241 and liked it and copied it. We actually had the current owner pop in and say hello. My sailplanes I will some times copy color schemes but usually change the N number to something that is personal to me like my AMA # or my birthday. We can do almost anything we want. I'm from Denmark but my 44% DG-1000 sports the Swiss colors.
Looks risky for the paragliders. If the model hit one of them and took out some lines to the chute it would be catastrophic !
The paraglides lines are made out of nylon and would work as a cheese cutter on our sailplanes. It does take a bit of experience in getting full control of one’s flying to the point you are not even thinking about it but the glider is flying the exact path you want. We do have to keep looking ahead to make sure we don’t fly into them. We observe a flight rule which keeps us out of trouble, always blue sky between them and us. A rookie flyer usually flies something much smaller and mostly out of foam. We have see many times foamies hung up it their lines but there are no damage or real danger there. The biggest issue for us is them violating their window rules. The window is the area between the south and first north flag. Their rules that can complicate things for us when they break them is: 1). No turning in the window. 2). Only one of them in the window at one time. 3). Whistle repeatedly while flying through the window. 4). No flying in over the RC pit and mound area. Most common rules that they break are multiples flying through the window at one time that makes it complicated for us to fly in between them. Another is when they fly in over our mound from behind us. We can’t see them until they’re out in front of us. The other is when they turn around or do aerobatics in the window in front of us that makes it really difficult to pick a clean line around them. I have watched my friend Steffen, who flies in this video who is a very talented pilot dump a $7000 glider straight into the ground because the parasail out in front chose to turn around together with multiple other parrisales through at the same time, left my friend no place to go but two point the light way to the ground Basically a total loss
