    I find it fascinating that when it comes to music Jamaicans often have a tendency to overlook the Rocksteady era which was some of the sweetest music ever recorded.

    • @3Gkitchen
      @3Gkitchen Před 19 minutami

      I think people over look Rocksteady because it was only a big deal for about 10 years, but Jamaica really needs a Jamaican music museum that people can go to learn the history of Jamaican music

    Nothing wrong with the video... cultural appropriation will always happen... Black Culture is the most appropriated ... for music, think Hip Hop.. it's all over the world and monetized by all sorts of peoples. Jamaica needs to handle _it's own_ monetisation issues and not worry about other people celebrating them but rather embrace it. It shines a light on the island and culture and attracts people from all over the world.

    • @3Gkitchen

      I agree that cultural appropriation will always happen, my problem is that Jamaica 🇯🇲 is one of the countries with the most incredible cultural and one of the most monetized cultures around the world but still Jamaica 🇯🇲 is filled with poverty and corruption while others get rich off Jamaica 🇯🇲 beauty and its culture.

    I have been living in Frankfurt Germany for 4 years now and not once have I heard or seen any promotions of Jamaica artists performing here. But I have heard of German reggae artists. I was like, wtf. So Germans are making money off our genre while simultaneously not pushing actually Jamaican artists. That's some bull. Just wait. I just need to find the right link.

    About to? No, Jamaica has lost it already. And Jamaica suffers because of a small mind and the passport is weak. Jamaica needs to have an EU waiver so Europe can be accessed to promote and so on. Dancehall has already died, Reggaeton and afro beats killed it off. Other places are already making their versions of Jamaican patties. Jamaica is done, buried and no longer relevant..as a former Jamaican I can say this.

    Jamaica is down bad cause our Country has become a Matriarchy. Tha's what we need to focus on and stop trying to gatekeep Art. Japanese ppl always shown love to all things Jamaica..worry about the Issa's and Azans who basically came to Jamaica a few generations ago and was given the entire Island.

    The other side of the coin is the reputation some of our artistas have of indiscipline, unpunctuality, vulgarity aka over-sexualised dance movements, and the bag of followers as part of the crew. I still cant figure the purpose of the "flag wavers.😮😂 ). "Jamaice time " don't work overseas. Sound checks, and rehearsals are vital for the scheduling of a production and lighting cues. The production personnel are unseen but they are all unionised and they have strict rules about what they do and when. (Speaking from years of touring North América, UK, the Caribbean and the Bahamas) Bottom line is if we want to reclaim our culture then an arritude change is vital.

    Here's the thing people, we create & others either appreciate or appropriate. We are the generators of the world. If we stop creating the world cannot evolve exponentially, & so all we have to learn is how to market & brand our unique creativity & expression. That's why it's called a Rat Race, to see who is going to get to first place, it's not about skin colour alone, it's also about who the Melanin Sun smile upon with gifts & grace. Japan realize culturally it doesn't have the advantage of some of us, so it's going to bring us in, learn from us & try to replace us. Textbook 101 of Darwin Theory, the strongest will always survive. Stay Strong & Survive. Blessings to all

    Dear sir , I can feel your passion, but I think , your thoughts are very limited to a small part of the jamaica wave moving across the world. What is happening is finally it is not just the music industry who are keeping all the profits and not investing on the island. It has turned a corner, and now the global world who love jamaica and are celebrating jamaica are now thinking about visiting the island and have the real experience. And not just listening at a music event . They are actually venturing out to the island . So now move your business plan into event and tours and restaurants and hikes and cycling , and alll the things tourist do when they visit an island they have always dreamed of . Make flights cheaper and then prosper . U have lost nothing but gained a huge audience. From the musical advertising that dates back to the sixtys

But Jamaica being a black country is base on the percentage of the population in the same way that I live in Canada 🇨🇦 and I am considered a visible minority because of my race and the fact that Canada 🇨🇦 is considered a white migratory country. So the fact is that we are all Jamaicans black or white but we can’t deny the fact that over 80% of Jamaicans are black.
