00:47 is a bit misleading. Many scenes perceived as lowlight to the audience are more than likely lit to all hell. It's the way the light is manipulated and controlled, as well as post production during the coloring process that gives off the final look. It's a hell of a lot easier to grade a bright environment to a darker mood. It's nearly impossible to do the converse. Many behind the scenes of movies, like Christopher Nolan's "The Dark Knight" is a good example to look to for this exact thing. Otherwise, I think this is a really well done video for those who are looking for that extra creative push!

Making art not just for views or for a wider audience but because you like it is something I've been coming to terms with lately. The advice of doing multiple projects at once is really good... it's literally how I survive. Especially doing completely different projects (remodeling a bathroom, writing music, editing a video) helps my brain to not feel bogged down and to shift to something different.
