Snapper On Soft Plastic off The Rocks | This Lure Really Works!! !#snapper #fishing #lurefishing
Soft plastics for snapper is not new for the boat angler. Fishing off Sydney NSW rocks its pretty uncommon for anglers to target them on lures. Vast majority of snapper anglers using bait. The soft plastics I have been using have worked really well catching snapper from just over the legal 30cm to quality 50cm fish. Adding another method to fishing for this great species off the ocean rocks. I have personally caught nearly two dozen snapper off then rocks in recent outings on these great plastics. Check out the gear and lures below.

Rock Blackfish | Do The Best You Can On The Day
zhlĂ©dnutĂ 5KPĆed 2 mÄsĂci
It only takes one good fish to make your day. For me I never get bored with catching the powerful, pugnacious rock blackfish AKA black drummer or pig as they are also known as. You sometimes need to get right into the dangerous rock fishing spots where they live. On this outing it was not about quantity was about the adventure of fishing on this outing right on the door step of the beautiful Sy...
Beach Whiting and Bream Strategies That Work

Often when you go for a beach fishing trip in Sydney you need to check out how crowded it may be, swimmers, surfers and of course fish the right gutters so you are in for a reasonably good chance to get a result. But what a lot of anglers overlook is the beach that your fishing could have a lot or a fair bit of weed of variable types like kelp, ribbon or the several varieties of reef weeds. Tak...
Saving A Yellow - Bellied Sea Snake in Sydney

Sea snakes are very rare in Sydney Australia. This one hitched a ride on the great east coast current from the northern part of Australia. They can be very deadly if they manage bite soft tissue. This Yellow Bellied Sea Snake was stranded on one of the local beaches in the northern suburbs of Sydney NSW Australia. it was not looking real good. I could not release it back into the ocean where it...

Snapper Fishing In REALLY DIFFICULT TERRAIN!

Distance casting off the rocks for snapper can be as easy as just casting out to the sand without too much structure in front of your ledge/boulder or fishing some of the more radical spots with multiple submerged ledges and ledges that are slightly above the water line and submerged boulders making it nearly as radical distance casting spot that you you would ever fish. Huge Blue Groper landed within minutes !
zhlĂ©dnutĂ 9KPĆed rokem
Winter time is often flatter seas time as well. The Eastern Blue Groper is a residental species but most often fished for in the winter months. They can be caught every month f the year but generally targeted in the cooler months. I hooked this big blue of 10-11kg which took a decent run. The running ball sinker slid up the line and over the FG and leader join. When I tried to wind back the las...
Great TIPS | Beach Whiting Fishing
zhlĂ©dnutĂ 40KPĆed rokem
Fishing for beach whiting on the east coast of Australia is generally from November to May. But that is not necessarly true. I fish for whiting till around mid July. It may seem a bit unusual as the atmosphere temperature is cold but the water temp is still warm enough for whiting. This can vary from year to year. In this video I am using an Alvey set up. There are some baic tips I will show yo...

Hi Alex, Can we please have more Alvey fishing videos. I am still using my 650 star drag that I got when I was 15 back in '83.
Hey Alex , nice video mate .. could you please tell us what is the rig set up when your chasing the reds ?
whats your bait mate ?
Hi there Half to 3/4 pilchard baits and peeled king prawns
tape a tape measure to the butt of yur rod
Cheers mate See that on rods for decades
Is it possible with 2lb test mono to mono?
I have done it with 1.3kg (3lb) mono so I assume it 'should' be ok
After watching a large amount of your videos over the past couple of years Iâve always loved the action on those daiwa overthere rods. Fortunately I bought a couple off them due to your videos and they are my favourite rods out of all my fishing rod collection. Iâm surprised and disappointed that Daiwa discontinued that series. Fingers crossed they come out with something even better. Another great video thanks Alex. Love the rock fishing videos đ
đ€Ș
Outstanding! what do you recommend we use for burley?
Cheers mate Burley is whatever you use for bait match it
@@AlexBellissimo I see, great tip!
Hey Alex what size iso float did you use great video cheers sporto.đđ
Sorry not really up To speed with ISO floats. Just ones I found Weight them accordingly use ones that can support a 1ball sinker approx
om myđźđźđźđź
Yes pretty big pig đœ
where is that
Sorry mate Please go to deep water ledges
If i think where that spot is in. Isn't the climb a bit dangerous?
Whatâs cabbage weed?
đŁ I also turn my mono line around the spool three times, then I tie my knot properly. The line will not slip on spool. I found that I have to pull the line from side to side as I tighten the knot down to the spool, as I had snap offs when I didn't. That is because the spool hub diameter is wide. I don't tie over loop dodgy unreliable knots, as I have seen, đŁ
Thatâs super cool and way better than the video that led me to look up giant cuttlefishâŠ. They look way better alive than dead being dug up from the beach for views!!
Aussie bycatch â€đ
Great vid mate, hey whatâs the weight and size of the jighead you got on the soft plastic here?
Thanks mate jig head weights from 1/4 to 1 oz cheers
Good vid mate, you are a gun at this, i thought the rod you were using was one of the overthere models?
Thanks mate The Over There rod is discontinued. The only rod you can get in the Daiwa range that is close to the rod is the Seabass cheers
Another brilliant video. Is your retrieve just a slow lift and drop or a slow retrieve?
a variety of jig actions. A couple are sharp upward jig andn pause or a short rapid jig and pause.
@@AlexBellissimo Cheers. Appreciate you taking the time to answer.
Hey alex thanks for the great videos! is there a specific reason why you'd sometimes use floats over sinkers or vice versa? is there certain conditions youre looking for? thank you! looking to head out soon
there are a lot of reasons why i choose float over running ball to hook rigs. one reason can be very rough terrain. Also using weed for rock blackfish works well ubder a float.
Amazing video once again Alex! How good are the Bait Junkies! đ„
Yes the bait junkies are great plastics â€ïž looking forward to smashng more reddies thanks mate
Gâday zundro, what a great outing bro.. Iâm only using lures now, my favorite is a dark blue rubber frog đž.. thinking about live baiting them now đ€ahh I miss eating snapper Iâm getting tired of tilapia đ
But Iâm going to use a rubber band so I donât hurt them hahaha â€
Hey Davros how are you mate đ keep memposte on yoyr snake head progress. And when your back in Syd hopefully will find time for a fsh
@@AlexBellissimo will do mate, Iâve been getting a few small common snake heads, just had a heatwave so I havenât been out much but now itâs just the start of the wet season so Iâll be out regularly, land based is pretty difficult with so much vegetation đlooking to get a kayak or something, i need a giant snake head lol đ
Gâday Al .. always a pleasure to see your head again⊠got a fed and caught a brute not too bad⊠how good are rock cod lol my favorite fish đ
yes a bit of a tuff session hahah and the kelp fish dam headache đ
Yuor from the old school the real school 60;s70's i can tell by the woo. Snapper and banana yello. Thats what im talking about. learning. You are value. Thanks for effort and tips. Love yu
thanks mate yes pretty old school fishing with the woohing. But also keep up with the latest too
What was swell size on the day? I always heard its best done above 1.1 swell size
Hey mate swell was moderate with a big run in tide. no swell does not have to be big for snapper catch hem on flat days as well
I love when you're fishing off the rocks Alex! Good on'ya brother!
hey mate thanks heaps
I'd like to see you go back 20yrs and throw some kokoda roger poppers on a 7" alvey đ
hahah yeah the kokoda rodgers. still my largest lure caught king was near 24kg on a rodger
@@AlexBellissimo I remember the photo. Back from your bait delivery days in the van to A1 Tackle on Pitt St
Is that a 7 giller?
no thats a dusky whaler shark cheers
Thanks for the vid man. Looks like a great little session. I've been chasing the snapper around Bombo, no luck yet.
Thanks mate much appreciated . maybe consider a guiding trip with me. I will show yoy how to do it correctly. otherwise keep at it mate good snapper around that stretch of rocks.
Thanks@@AlexBellissimo I have dropped the hint that I would like the guided tour for my birthday with the boss lady, will see how I go haha
Regularly smacking 50-60cm fish on baits these days. Trying to get them on plastics is another story even when switch baited in a trail. Quality video as always mate keep em coming
Practice makes perfect. I hooked 4 big trev at the wharf yesterday, everyone else on bait like 5 other rods out only one of the guys copped a big trev too
@@arta6784 thats a Trev and from a wharf though. Not a decent red from the rocks. For some reason considerably harder landbased even when you know where they are.
Hey Jake well done mate. snapper on plastics is quite regular but when i have reque st or when i am using them myself you will definatly get reds on plastics keep punching đ
sorry mate the topic Jake mentined was snapper on plastics off the rocks he is already catching them up to 60+ cm cheers
the complexities of rock fishing and how much it can vary from spot tot spot is something most anglers dont understand.
Great stuff Alex! Stick with the filming too mate - you'll get batter in no time.
hey thanks mate just a big learning curbe hahah but will stick with it cheers
Top shelf video again mate, love your work and thank you for the upload.
hey thanks mate cheers will try and get mere uploaded tryng for larger kings this winter đ
Love watching you and thanks for your tipsđ
hey mate thanks very much cheers
Hi there. On your gear descriptions you have the sea bass as your fishing rod, but clearly on your video we can see that you are using Over there rod. Why?
The over there rod is discontinued. The only rod you can get in the Daiwa range that is close to the rod is the Seabass. If I put in the description the Over There rod anglers would not be able to purchase it. Cheers
Ok, thank you sir. Keep up the good work.
Champion!!!!!!
hey mate your the champion much appreciated
@@AlexBellissimo Mate, I'm still keen for a session. Maybe in July, during school holidays.
Alex rarely fishes soft plastics but when he does... He catches all the snappers from the ledge.
used to get reds on plasics catching a few again, loving it caught about 20 or more snapper this year cheers much appreciated
Mate youâd love fishing in Vic for them. Is 50cm your pb on plastics?
we yes my pb on plastics largest on bait is 8.4kg and yes Vic is awesome for reds.
Hey Alex love the videos, how are you working the Jerk Shad, what kind of tempo for the snapper?
Thaks mate much appreciated sharp upward lift and pause or short jerks and pause cheers
You are one of a kind mate. I love your vids!

Great effort, Alex! I'm like you, I always take a moment to admire the beauty of a freshly caught target species - how good are those crimson hues on a freshly caught snapper?
yes the colours of a snapper can vary in ther terrain beautiful fish. Thanks heaps mate

Great as always Alex. How do you rate the new Diawa Expedition Braid against the Diawa J Braid Grand?
thanks very much mate there both great braids. J Braid Grand breaks above the line class Expedition breaks around the line class and is a bit thinner bth great braids
Excelent catch mate.
